September 11, 200718 yr Member HAHAH it's SORTA there still isn't it? They certianly ahven;'t fully returned to the old 3 camera look. I like a lot of your choices--I don't think the original Derek would come back--he left on his own when they wanted him in more scenes. And I'd defeintely keep Addie Walsh on the writing team--she's worked so closely so long with Agnes Nixona dn I think really gets her feel--but amen to bringing back Lorraine B--I would hire in a dream world Minei Behr back as EP though... I'm all for the 1997 teens--Kevin, Kelsey especially. Everyone else, sure (what's the Bobby from that era doing right now?) except not the Scott from that era who I hated. E I didn't really mind the steadicams. Of course, that makes me a vicious, sick and twisted FAKE ALL MY CHILDREN FAN since the majority opinion was that it sucked. But, being the leader of the ALB Hate Coalition, I kind of enjoy being brazen with my opinions. Anyhoo... Sort of along the lines of Amanda Beall, I'm firing Addie Walsh because of that mess of a Fourth of July episode she and Beall wrote 2 months ago. That really pissed me off... But, okay. I'll put her on probationary status since I still have room for a breakdown writer on the team I've composed. I'm not up on what Brian Gaskill (1990's Bobby) is doing. Isn't or wasn't he recently on a soap this past year? Anyway, there were three Scotts in the 1990s (Shane McDermott - the skinny one, Brian Cosgrove - the 90210 one, and Forbes March - the Canadian/Nash OLTL one), so which one did you hate? My intention on bringing Scott Chandler back is to rebuild the Chandler family. Skye's been de-Chandlered (although she did refer to herself as Skye Chandler Quartermaine on GH Monday), Hayley is in California and after the Carey Girls came in, castrated Adam and JR, stole Colby and then Zach obsconded with the Chandler wealth, there needs to be a resurgence. Also, now that Jamie left, JR needs a "brother" figure in his life, and who better than his cousin? But that's why I suggested a recast. Scott, having left to go to NYU Film School, could come back as a big time New York City television producer, with money of his own. Maybe take over New Beginnings or whichever lame ass talk show Erica's hosting now. Also, recast Anita with an actress that has, oh, I dunno... CHARISMA, maybe? Nothing personal toward Natalia Cigliuti, but she was boring on Saved by the Bell the New Class, too always talking about "Tommy D." Sorry. I digress. Get Laura Kirk English out of the Looney Bin... preferably cast with a Lauren E. Roman-esque actress. Someone who seems able to carry off the weight of Laura Kirk's history, which wasn't pretty. Homeless, living on the streets in New York as a teen, being involved in child pornography... Bring Kelsey back via Scott, since she left town to be some weather girl in Wyoming or someplace like that. She could've climbed the ranks at her television station as well. We need Kevin back on the show since Bianca's decided to become straight. It's a shame that Jean Passanante, of all people, is actually pushing forward, balls to the wall, with the Luke and Noah storyline on World Turns -- and AMC took the coward's way out and paired their lesbian with a man in drag. Bill Christian left on his own because he lives in LA and didn't want to relocate for the Dragon storyline (translation, imo, they weren't offering him enough incentive to move his family back east). From the looks of the lame ass Dragon storyline, it was a good move. I mean, really. If you make your living as an actor, do you really have the luxury of turning down MORE work in this business? I think it had more to do with if he was going to be back east and working more away from his family, then he probably wanted a little extra cushion (a.k.a. a contract). Because he was working a lot the summer Danielle came back to town in 2004. I just don't like Parnell as Derek. He's a good actor, but just not what I want to see in the role, so... sorry! Bye bye, Charles! Besides... I've always had a mini-crush on Bill Christian since I was a kid. Edited September 11, 200718 yr by R Sinclair
September 11, 200718 yr Member ^^I LOVE your ideas. Scott and Kelsey coming back as big TV execs...bring back Bobby and Anita....Kevin! (loved him)...and Laura, which hopefully would bring back Brooke. Oh, the possibilities.

September 12, 200718 yr Member I just want Brodrick and Jean Dedero Burk back at AMC. Brodricks writing was more character driven and AMC won 3 Emmys in a row for Wrting. I tell you Brodrick always did fit well in the AMC mold.

That woman allowed Megan McTavish and Jean Passanante to run rampant over AMC in the late 90's early 2000's. I place that horror show in the same category as Julie Cowudders.

If possible I would do all of it because what I'm seeing onscreen now I know I and a lot of the posters here could do a zillion times better at the helm of GL.
September 12, 200718 yr Member the reason it worked so well on "the city" is because they didn't have a soundstage set that required cameras to be on the "fourth wall". they actually shot in a real 360-degree loft in New York City, as well as the streets and parks of New York. So it was actually easier to shoot with a Steadicam in the 360-degree space. Actually, it played NYC as a character long before Sex and the City did it. I always said the City would have worked better following GH at 4 (ESt), than kicking off the line-up at 12:30. their audience was much younger and would have appreciated the NYC stuff more than the 12:30 Loving/Y&R audience. That time slot was ALWAYS a killer time slot--and if they somehow coulda even gotten Loving in an afterschool slot it prob woulda done better--but I agree City woulda too--here the last 6 months (I managed to tape and save the last 3) when the show really foudn its groove on the Seattle ABC it was relegated to being aired at midnight I think (or 11:30 after the news?) and ya know... as bad as that was for ratings, it was a GREAT time to watch a quick 30 mins quality soap like that I found--right before bed (which is when I watch my soaps anyway). I thought only parts, espcially near the start were shot in a real loft. I knwo the staircases, etc were often the ABC studios stair well and Sydney/Tracey's loft was fully built as a set--it ended up being used as the first The View set. But you're right the sets were actually built for that kinda filming unlike AMC where they still use (I think) 3 sided "stage type" sets Sinclair I don't remember that July 4th ep--and I'm not a big Amanda fan but I am sticking to Addie who I have a lot of love for despite maybe doing some poor eps--I think ehr strength would be mor ein breakdown or something above than dialogue anyway. I meant the first teen Scott, Shane. I jsut never likedthe actor--i didn't mind Daniel or Forbes in the role at all. I agree about mpore Chandlers--and Scott back would give us more reason to see Stu and Marian (abotu Skye I was so glad this week Adam pretending to be Stu mentioned her as a daughter--after years of NO mention). I was gonna ask--was the last we saw of Laura her going to the Lonney Bin? I *hated* how Passanante ruined her character--and so quickly, making her a demented bitch with no motivation or reason. Kyle was Broderick's 90s tenure at AMC even 3 seasons long? I did love her writing there (even with the gimmicky stuff she was sorta forced to throw in to compete with Days--voodoo, Santa and Myrtle, etc) and owuld love her back--and of course she was basically credited as headwriter for much of AMC's 1983-1987 great era. (she has top credit on episodes from that era though I know Agnes and Wisner were still involved to a point) I still don't really think Burk did much for AMC one way or another
September 12, 200718 yr Member *EDIT* Yah I want Behr back too. She was with AMC since 1970... Though one question--how old are all these ladies getting?
September 12, 200718 yr Member Ah I just adore Lorraine Broderick. It sucks that she's not writing for a soap now.
