Members DramatistDreamer
Roger's parents are probably enjoying time with the grandkids. Roger left Rafa zero room for errors, especially on Nadal's service games. After that one loooong opening game, which Federer won, he pressured Rafa's serve and eventually his groundstrokes, pushing him back and taking his time away. Rafa seemed as if he was going to garner some success drawing Federer out wide from the baseline making him hit that extra ball, one after another but the problem was eventually Federer would draw the error from Nadal. Well, onto the clay. Edited April 2, 2017 by DramatistDreamer
Members Soapsuds
Was looking back at last year and Roger did play Monte Carlo so those points will be coming off since he made the QFs.
Members DramatistDreamer
What. Is. This. Exclusive: ATP could trial shorter sets, no service lets and shot clock in raft of potential reforms
Members Soapsuds
Horrible ideas except for the stop clock. I would stop watching tennis if they did this. The clock is needed because Nadal takes way too much time between points. They can shorten the game by having the players not go after ever game to change racquets or drink water....even on the tiebreaker they stop to drink water or a drink.

Members DramatistDreamer
Apart from the U.S. Open, I don't see any of the major tournaments adopting any of these, including the shot clock. I don't see Wimbledon doing it and Wimbledon is the Queen Bee of the majors. Maybe Delray Beach and Memphis. Most likely, the testing ground will be the Challengers and Futures, if any of these suggestions get off the ground. With a few exceptions, I think most hard court and grass court tournaments run the appropriate lengths of time. Maybe the ATP would be better served getting roofs for many of their tournaments since rain delays usually jam the schedule. This would only be on the ATP side, there's no way the WTA would consider this.
Members Soapsuds
And of course Jack Sock is having trouble beating Thompson...LMAO.... It's nice to see the entire Volvo Open on TC but the matches have been rather boring.
Members ChitHappens
The surface at Volvo Open is bothering me big time! Siegemund beat Safarova in the first set 6,2 and called her coach immediately afterwards. Why? That is beyond ridiculous!
Members DramatistDreamer
Siegemund is a cheater in the way she uses gamesmanship tactics. You're lucky she didn't take two bathroom breaks and call for coaching like she did in her match against Venus. @Soapsuds I thought about what you said about Sloane being a jinx. When she took a selfie with Venus, I thought "Uh-oh" Please register in order to view this content and then did a chat with Madison and Tennis Channel posted it on Twitter then the next day both Venus and Madison lost! I kept thinking "Jinx!" Unfortunately, I heard Madison got a ton of abuse on her social media account. There is nothing that she could've done on a tennis court for someone to tell her to go kill herself. That's horrendous! I wish Venus hadn't bothered, she needed the rest. She could've won but I think she was like "whatever", especially since she didn't bother to venture in from the baseline much, even though Siegemund repeatedly hit drop shots. I didn't watch the entire fans but I heard from some people who attended the match, in person, that Venus was ahead 3-1 in every set! Fatigue can weigh on the mind and irrespective of Siegemunds 'tactics', she did get to the finals of Stuttgart last year, (where she got bageled by Kerber). And it's ridiculous that Lucie lost but the weather has been pretty bad and I think for many players that was a dis-incentive to keep playing with other tournaments on the horizon. Plus, it's Green Clay! Edited April 7, 2017 by DramatistDreamer
Members ChitHappens
Isn't Madison the ambassador for an anti online bullying organization?
Members DramatistDreamer
Yes, she is. What a sad irony. Tennis, particularly in Europe, seems to see no problem with aligning themselves to betting companies and gambling. Well, I think many of the most abusive people are gamblers who have lost money. Gambling on human beings has to be the stupidest thing ever! Edited April 7, 2017 by DramatistDreamer
Members Soapsuds
@DramatistDreamer Ha! I told you! Please register in order to view this content I don't get it either why some players play this week. Yes, it is a popular tournament but after a whole month on hard court there is no way you can be ready to play on clay. The draw has been engulfed with upsets. I saw that...they said she sucked and that she was a monkey....and I forgot what other things they told her.
Members DramatistDreamer
I wish tennis would sever its ties with the gambling establishments. The thing some of these trolls post is ridiculous. Don't be surprised if Charleston gets a Rogers vs. Siegemund final. Who is actually left in the draw? Oh, right... Wozniacki, she's probably the biggest player left.
Members Soapsuds
I lost interest real early in the tournament....LOL. I am waiting for the Monte Carlo tournament on the men's side in a few weeks. And Jack Sock is down 2 set to 1. I can't wait to see egg all over Jim Courier's face when he loses to Australia....LOL Edited April 7, 2017 by Soapsuds
Members DramatistDreamer
Geez, I forgot that DC tie was being contested in Australia! I went to bed! You lost interest in the tournament? I lost interest as soon as Venus lost!! I was like "The Volvo tournament is cancelled!" I joked about Shelby winning but in all honesty, I don't much care who wins that tournament at this point. I mean, it's GREEN clay! Please register in order to view this content
