I watched the Haase match, and he was very upset that the match wasn’t suspended due to darkness during the fourth set, which he was losing. (He was up two sets to one, but Goffin had all the momentum.) Haase was even more incensed when they decided to move forward with a fifth set and, during the changeover, he called for the trainer, who made the call that Haase wasn’t actually injured. I think most observers figured he was just acting and stalling for time to show his displeasure (and perhaps delay the match so it would legitimately be suspended). Goffin proceeded to bagel Haase in that fifth set.

Yup....he lost his cool. I don't know why he lost focus. He had the match won and poof he completely imploded. Everyone knew he wasn't injured and was stalling so darkness could be called in the match.

Wawrinka lost in R1 to Garcia-Lopez, and his ranking has plummeted to 256. He’ll get tons of wild cards, though.

Sevastova lost to Duque-Mariño. I can only imagine the drama on-court.

Saw that Baghdatis was up 6-4, 4-3 on Giraldo but got injured and had to retire. Really awful luck.

I can’t believe Nadal might be saved by the rain once again...

I wasn't impressed with Nadal today. He was playing rather passive and should've lost the 2nd set. I was hoping and hoping for an upset but then the rain ruined it all.

Bolelli could have gone away like Zverev did in the Rome final, but he held firm and pushed things to a tough long TB. Very impressive. I too think Rafa looks off. It wouldn’t surprise me if he pulled out due to an injury à la 2016. But it also wouldn’t surprise me if he steamrolled to another title. But he looks... vulnerable.

Apparently, Jack Sock was a total a-hole to the chair umpire before losing his third straight GS R1 match. Surpriiiise!

From what I saw of the match, I thought Serena looked pretty good out there today.

She looked much better! Her movement isn’t completely back, especially when protecting her second serve, but the ability to shift to another gear when necessary seems close to her previous level. Good match to work her way into the tournament.

I hope they replay the match later. Some of us slugs have to work.

LOL, I risked it as long as I could by clicking on a dodgy livestream. I'm never able to watch on an actual TV.

He was an ass to the umpire. I am glad he lost and wasn't surprised. Everyone on social media is laughing and shading Sock after his loss. Comments like he is an awful player ….etc etc….I wish TC would stop pimping him. He will never do anything in his career. Jim Courier was awful today. Going on and on about how great his forehand is and how great he is on clay…..whatever…..

Zopp btw is a cutie. He looked mighty good shirtless too. I had to LOL at the female calling their match…."I see it's change shirt time….mmmm..thanks guys for the view….."……LOLOL

I thought she was ok…nothing great but nothing bad either. But WTF was she wearing?

That catsuit was likely a throwback to the catsuit she wore at the 2002 US Open.  She said she felt empowered wearing it. Hey, whatever helps the mindset, right?

Kristyna Pliskova is not a bad first round opponent to have to ease into the tournament.  Challenging enough but far from a relentless opponent.

That's what I thought it was…..didn't care for it.

I doubt that Nike will sell this to the consumer market, so it doesn't really matter whether it's to everyone's taste.

Besides, with the bevy of sexual harassment and misogyny issues that the company is now having, one catsuit is the least of their problems right now.
