DAYS: Bring back Marty Davich!!

Marty has the best music for sad/emotional scenes. Him coming back would add so much to the show. Music is so important to a scene. Having the wrong kind of music can ruin what should've been a wonderful scene.

I agree. Plus, he had some great dramatic/suspense music that was just amazing. He is needed big time!!

I'm not one to say we should go back to the past, but in this case, I totally agree! Marty Davich rocked; his musci made the scenes better!

I think it was 1992 or 1993.

I would love to know why he left DAYS though.

Did Tom Langan or Ken Corday fire him, or did Shelly Curtis (a GH producer at the time who worked for DAYS in the 80's) steal him away?

Marty Davich has done ER's music from word go. Not sure if he still does, as I stopped watching around Season 10...but he had been there for years.

You mean that horrible rock&roll/electric guitar music or having songs play as the scenes fade out? LOL

LMAO! Why did I quickly envision LML boppin' her multicolor hair to the music?

I love Marty! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease bring him back!

BILLYJILL!!!

Good to see you posting again. You've been missed. :)

Anfd I agree completely. Days needs a music overhaul and they need Marty back to fix that area.

Marty Davich also composed the theme song and the background cues for PC as well(GH/PC music often interchangeable).

PC had really good music during the period I watched in 2000. There was always *THE* perfect cue for just about everything, especially the emotional stuff. PC's background music went to crap once the direction and focus of the show changed.

I completely agree. The music makes the scene. The music makes the story sometimes!

Who can think back on the early days of Bo & Hope, Roman & Marlena, John & Marlena, Kim & Shane, Steve & Kayla, Justin & Adrienne without hearing their themes in your head?

Imagine Marlena looking into the mirror when she wakes up from her four- or five-year coma . . . but with today's music.

Imagine Hope over the vat of acid, saying goodbye to Bo, with the new techno/porn music of today.

Imagine Shane and Kimberly saying goodbye with the new music.

Imagine Roman/John finding Marlena on the pier, with the techno/porn crap.

I mean, I can watch the old youtube clips and, as soon as I hear the music, I swear, there are times that I feel goosebumps and almost tear up . . . on the pier with Marlena, when she realizes John "is" Roman, when Bo is losing Roman on the beach after Stefano shot him . . .

I agree. Bring back Marty!!!

I have several recordings of different scores from the 80's that prove how great Marty Davich was and how much he is needed. If anyone is interested just let me know and Ill post some.

I think Marty Davich is sticking with primetime series and motion pictures. IMDB says he worked on Touching Home (2007) starring Ed Harris & Lee Meriwether (played Ruth Martin on AMC)

I agree. The music is what got me hooked on Days in the 80s.

If anyone has any Marty or Ken Heller (he did some Days music too) PLEASE let me know :)

Thanks

I wish they would just use the music from the 80s in place of what they have now. In addition to it just being better music, it's so much richer and lusher than today's synth crap. Could soaps do that -- just recycle decades-old music? Do they own them outright, or are there royalty issues to be considered?
