Sad that my favorite story ended today :(

Anyway, I enjoyed the first half of the show more than the second half, but all in all, I loved it. Jennifer Landon has such a beautiful voice. If she ever leaves ATWT (which I hope she doesn't), she could definately be a chart topper.

It was good to see more of Gwen and Jade working together. I wish they would keep Elena Goode and we could see them eventually become friends.

Those train scenes were INTENSE! Man that was good drama.

I wish that we had seen more of Cleo's exit. It seemed really rushed.

Ali has some nerve being mad at Aaron after he's forgiven her for so much already. And I can't believe Dusty honestly expected Emily to just forgive him right away.

I am sorry but I hated it!

Jean AND Chris need to go! Susan Dansby too since this was her second script of the week!

I am trying to rationalize that the story wrap up was so rushed and choppy because they were told by the higher ups to do so. Maybe they are reading the MB's and the mags,I don't know!

I also hate it that they are setting Holden and Lily up for a breakup.

As Andy and Gwen were singing all I could think of was:

"What the WORLD needs now is new management ,sweet management"

I try to be positive because this is "my show" but I am sorry. I am losing hope!

Thank God and Greyhound (and the wonderful Branson PD) she's gone!!!

Thank GOD Branson is over. I'm sorry....THREE songs is a little too much for me to stomach. Watching Cleo whirl around in ff is pretty funny though. The train stuff was lame. Nice that Gwen got all cleaned up, dolled up, and recovered enough to sing with Andy.

Sigh...y'know...I don't get this show. Emily is royally pissed off about Dusty's sleeping with Ali. We're supposed to believe her sense of betrayal runs so deep, she's never going to forgive him. UH....was this not the man who forgave her for kidnapping and torturing him, nearly killing him AND her part in the kidnapping of Jen's baby? WHERE does she find the temerity to be pissed off that Dusty and Ali had consensual sex, and didn't tell her when it was none of her damn business?

I thought Ali had a great point when she said that Aaron was just cruel in his snide little remarks that kept egging Emily on to discover what was going on.

Honestly, I'm glad Holden and Lily were on (and I don't say that often...). Otherwise I would have just FF it to see the previews. I don't quite get what the hell they were talking about...Holden's pissed Lily "keeps things" from him? When the hell is he ever around? Is this just about the stuff with Jade? I don't really remember anything else she's "kept" from him since she's returned from rehab.

Goutman needs to shelve the idea of any more on-location remotes. I can't blame Dansby for how bad this turned out. I don't think anyone could have saved this craptastic, plot-driven drivel.

I watched today..... what a trainwreck... pun intended. I was screaming for Jade to leave Gwen on those tracks  Cleo is over I guess that's one positive. The worst character ever created in daytime I think. The tied to the traintracks thing actually came off worse than it sounded. What cheese and Gwen and Will embracing and starring into each other's eyes while a train is like seconds away from hitting them, and then like two scenes later Gwen is up singing? Typical Jean Passanante writing, meaning that it rarely makes any lick of sense.

I was happy to see Cleo carted off; her and her Killer Gnome... That was the most silliest story ever to me...

I couldn't stop laughing at her trying to lip sync her song and was bobbing and weaving all over the place...

I almost expected her teeth to come flying out of her mouth on stage

I loved all the Branson stuff, every minute of it. For me, it was awesome in comparison to the alternative - the millionth conversation between Craig/Meg about Paul's "death", the Carly/Jack/Katie/Brad high school foolishness, the Dusty/Emily/Aaron/Ali repeat conversations about their past, etc. At least Branson was something different, we finally got to see Luke for a few days in a row, and some exciting action happened.

If they featured more stories in a single episode maybe some of these conversations (Meg/Craig, Dusty/Emily especially) wouldn't seem like they go in never ending circles. But since they don't and only use a few sets, it gets monotonous for me fast. So Branson was a breath of fresh air.

Seeing the previews for tomorrow, my heart kind of sank knowing we were going back to the same old stuff.

Granted, I only saw one, maybe two, scenes today, but what was this ish that Dusty only loved Jen and Johnny? Did I imagine Rose, Lily, and Lucy?

The one part I did see that I liked was Emily calling Dusty on the fact that he gave her ish for being a hooker, then jumped into bed with her porn star sister LOL!

I always thought Dusty loved Burke and Karen and John and Lucy and Lily and Rose.....but I might be wrong.

I agree with both P.J. and JSROCKS re: the Emily/Dusty/Alison/Aaron quadrangle.

Jesse Soffer has an episode he can submit for the Emmy's next year!! The tension in his eyes when he was asking Cleo about Gwen. Both afraid of what Cleo was capable of, and hoping that there was time left to save Gwen. And then, when he saved Gwen off the tracks.

Elena Goode also did phenomenal today. I loved how when she and Luke hugged towards the end, you could see the relief, the regret, the anger, and the happiness in both hers and Van's faces. Van had this face like Luke was thinking "I'm never gonna let you out of my sight again."

 at Maddie calling Cleo a freak and snatching the wig from her.

Jen L. was pretty convincing as Cleo dressed up as Gwen.

I love her voice. And I loved her singing.

I agree with James. I hate they're trying to set Lilden up for Splitsville #28347! (FYI, P.J., they were referring to Lily keeping her pill addiction from Holden and lying to him when they were talking today about "no more lies" and etc.)

Well, I thought Lily was all forgiven after she got back from rehab. I don't know, it just seems like Holden's little speechifying came out of nowhere today. Lily's freaking cancelled out on two business meetings to attend to family matters, and now Holden's accusing her of keeping things from him. This stuff with Jade happened "this morning" according to Lily. It's not exactly some deep, dark secret she kept from him. I guess he could be referring to the "tuition money" Lily gave Jade (that she used to keep Cleo in town), but geez, it seems like nit-picking to snipe about it now.

I smell some kind of trouble for them....sigh. Well, anything's better than Cleo.

I flipped past this (interested in catching some of the Luke/Noah story and seeing if it's worth watching) and hate that I missed the (according to TVGuide's Michael Logan) fantastic finish to the chicks tied to the traintrack story! LOL! Was it all that? He made it sound like it was all gonna be super-exciting!

    • That's always been my thought. I can't imagine that the show would play up the unseen AD so far in advance without them casting a *star*. After today's episode, I wonder if he'll somehow be connected with Diane. It was strange that Diane mentioned her very distant family today. I can't recall Diane ever talking about her backstory. Maybe he's her much younger brother?  It's also possible he's connected to Diane during her time in LA. Sally's already said she crossed paths with him. OC, I think Dumas is Mariah's mistake.... As a side note, it was good to see some mixing it up - Adam with Clare/Kyle and Sharon with Tessa.
    • Here's the place to share some memorable criticism. You don't have to agree with it, of course (that's often where the fun starts). Like I mentioned to @DRW50, Sally Field was a favorite punching bag in the late '80s and early '90s.   Punchline (the 1988 movie where she and Tom Hanks are stand ups): "It's impossible to tell the difference between Miss Field's routines that are supposed to be awful, and the awful ones that are supposed to be funny." -- Vincent Canby, New York Times. "It's not merely that Field is miscast; she's miscast in a role that leaves no other resource available to her except her lovability. And (David) Seltzer's script forces her to peddle it shamelessly." -- Hal Hinson, Washington Post. "As a woman who can't tell a joke, Sally Field is certainly convincing. ... Field has become an unendurable performer ... She seems to be begging the audience not to punch her. Which, of course, is the worst kind of bullying from an actor. ... She's certainly nothing like the great housewife-comedian Roseanne Barr, who is a tough, uninhibited performer. Sally Field's pandering kind of 'heart' couldn't be further from the spirit of comedy." -- David Denby, New York   Steel Magnolias: The leading ladies: Dolly Parton: "She is one of the sunniest and most natural of actresses," Roger Ebert wrote. Imagining that she probably saw Truvy as an against-type role, Hinson concluded it's still well within her wheelhouse. "She's just wearing fewer rhinestones." Sally Field: "Field, as always, is a lead ball in the middle of the movie," according to Denby . M'Lynn giving her kidney to Shelby brought out David's bitchy side. "I can think of a lot more Sally Field organs that could be sacrificed." Shirley MacLaine: "(She) attacks her part with the ferociousness of a pit bull," Hinson wrote. "The performance is so manic that you think she must be taking off-camera slugs of Jolt." (I agree. If there was anyone playing to the cheap seats in this movie, it's Shirley.) Olympia Dukakis: "Excruciating, sitting on her southern accent as if each obvious sarcasm was dazzlingly witty," Denby wrote. Daryl Hannah: "Miss Hannah's performance is difficult to judge," according to Canby, which seems to suggest he took a genuine "if you can't say something nice ..." approach. Julia Roberts: "(She acts) with the kind of mega-intensity the camera cannot always absorb," Canby wrote. That comment is so fascinating in light of the nearly 40 years Julia has spent as a Movie Star. She is big. It's the audience who had to play catch up. And on that drag-ish note ... The movie itself: "You feel as if you have been airlifted onto some horrible planet of female impersonators," Hinson wrote. Canby: "Is one supposed to laugh at these women, or with them? It's difficult to tell." Every review I read acknowledged the less than naturalistic dialogue in ways both complimentary (Ebert loved the way the women talked) and cutting (Harling wrote too much exposition, repeating himself like a teenager telling a story, Denby wrote). Harling wrote with sincerity and passion, Canby acknowledged, but it's still a work of "bitchiness and greeting card truisms." The ending was less likely to inspire feeling good as it was feeling relieved, according to Denby. "(It's) as if a group of overbearing, self-absorbed, but impeccable mediocre people at last exit from the house."
    • I tend to have two minds about Tawny (Kathy Najimy) fainting during Soapdish's big reveal. You're the costume designer, if anything, you should have known the whole time. I guess it's an application of what TV Tropes calls the "Rule of Funny." Every time I watch Delirious, I always want the genuine romance in John and Mariel's reunion at the deli counter to last longer. Film critics had their knives out for Sally in this period. I'll start a separate thread on the movies page.
    • I don't think so, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was Dumas this whole time.
    • Tamara Tunie was serving up grand dame diva fierceness.
    • Nick told Victoria that he and Sharon had married in England.  Victoria was shocked.  Then she realized he was kidding.  He confirmed it was a joke and they're platonic. I don't even know what to say about that.
