DAYS: The Casting of Jeremy

I agree that I thought that Jeremy would have dark hair and think that casting a blonde in the role was a wrong choice.

IMHO, Shelley Hennig (the new Stephanie) acts circles around Shayna Rose and I prefer her to Shayna. That said, I don't think either of them look like Steve and Kayla's daughter should, although Hennig is closer to that.

Blond or not he's hot. Whether or not he can act is another story, an open question.

But I can't stand the new Stephanie. Part of the problem is definitely in the writing but probably not all of it. I hate her intensely. She's become a trampy slutty silly fool who does nothing but giggle and prance around in an annoyingly irritating manner.

It took a long time for them to make Chelsea even remotely tolerable but they've done it.

Then they brought that awful Willow character on. She's only now just becoming barely tolerable (BUT I think the actresses in both cases have "something" and I can't say that about this Stephanie. I CAN say that about Shayna Rose who was special in a way these others ones certainly are not.)

I'd rather spend a whole week watching nothing but Willow then sit through a single minute of this Stephanie. She literally annoys me so much I want to throw things, scream and run out of the room.

Jeremy won't be much if he's totally draped by this Stephanie non-stop.

On top of all that, this Stephanie can't possibly come from 2 such exciting characters as Steve/Patch and Kayla. How could they have popped that worthless tart out? Definitely in the writing, not casting, but it's only one of a bunch of problems that need fixing.

Again, paging Sheri Anderson to fix the problems. The show is in dire need of being redirected in a few spots.

For the life of me I can't understand why DAYS is doing a summer storyline centering around two newbies introduced on June 1, a recast who has undergone such a personality change she isn't recognizable as the same character, and then there's Chelsea, who seems to have absorbed Abby's personality. In their wisdom, they also appear to be splitting up Nick and Chelsea (the most popular young couple in years) by having Nick's spine removed by Willow. And while I think Jett was a good casting choice (although he looks too old for Chelsea and Stephanie's age group), Jeremy was probably selected from Mattel's Sun 'n Surf Barbie and Ken collection. Maybe he will surprise me and maybe this storyline will be better than it sounds so far, but this is my initial impression--and it's not a good one. I don't think anyone who is familiar with Mike and Robin expected Jeremy Horton to turn out this way!

She's this year's Colby Chandler - seriously. At least Shayna Rose's Stephanie was appealingly tomboyish. This Steph is just a generic, paper-thin slag, a jarring 180 turn from the previous characterization.

Another instance of soaps taking a character with interesting quirks and turning her into a bland, generic "type" writers can easily insert into a bland, generic plot.

Bland & generic, true, but also so annoying and irritating it'll make me turn the show right off if the problem isn't fixed quickly. I cannot stand this twitty bimbo. It was more than enough trying to put up with the earlier writing of bimbo Chelsea and more recently twitty trampy Willow for months unending. At least they had some personality. This one has less personality than the dullest personality-challenged cheerleader.

I liked the other Stephanie. Can't stand this one.

I do think the actress who plays Willow could be much more interesting in another role. Possibly even a recast Mimi. That would have been much better than the awful stuff we've had to sit through involving Willow.

But nothing is as annoying as what they're doing to Stephanie now. I simply can't sit through any more of it.
