I was reading that other thread started by that DOOl 4 Life or whatever, and whom ever locked it I am glad they did beacuse Lord knows I had something to say. And it would have not been nice

Days is foucusing on TOO many newbies at the moment. The day to day dialog is great I love Nick and Chelsea and cannot stand the stroyline givin to Payla.

Y&R on the other hand is GREAT. At least its got me hooked all excpet for Amber and Lily. YUCK! And If any one else feel all or sum of what I am saying please stand up and speak up for your self

Ditto.

Y&R has its faults, but is far more superior to Days at the moment. I tried watching Days today and it may as well have been a repeat. Lucas and Kate were having the same argument about Sami. STILL. The show is far too repetitive, dragging, mundane and too EJ centric. Y&R has achieved more of a balance these past few months and isn't devoid of an energy Days sorely lacks. When is something gonna happen? All they do is TALK. This ain't Oprah.

LOL.....very true comment. The characters on Days spend too much time talking about what they are going to do, rather than taking action.

Anywho, back to Y&R, I am hoping it steps up its game again. The whole senate race thing isnt holding my interest; However, I am enjoying the break from Colleen and the Professor.

I think the story of Lily being concerned over Daniel's internet porn hobby is laughable. If all marriages were theatened by the husband's occasional cruising for internet porn, the number of divorces in this country would skyrocket!

I also think it's weird how Lily seems so bubbly and carefree considering her mom just died.

Sure, but Lily is very young. Plus Daniel has been lying and hiding it from her. I think if she was about 10 years older and he had been honest about it things would be different. Still this story needs to die. Realistic or not it's just not interesting to me.

Is Y&R boring? IMO, yes it definitely is. I want the Y&R I used to watch. I want the show that had something happening every single day. I remember when and episode would end and it would just send chills down your spine. You couldn't believe a character would do something like that, or found something shocking. Now, we have Y&R episodes ending like most of the other soaps, on someone thinking about something. WTF?! I don't want to see the show ending with Michael having his hand on his chin, thinking of a way to get back at Jack. That's not Y&R!

The storylines are horrendous. Where did this sudden drive for the senate seat come from Nikki? Because Victor wouldn't vote her on the board? Please! Drucilla, a very popular charcater with the fans, was killed in the most stupid way. It wasn't eventful. It wasn't suspensful. It was stupid and awful and tacky and horribly done. Don't even get me started on Daniel's porn fantasy and Lily's shock about it. That certainly is laughable like someone else said. And I'm not even going to become invested in Neil's drinking problem because I can bet my next paycheck that it will only be a plot device to get him with Nia Peeple's new character, Karen.

People were fed up with Smith's version of Y&R? At least he was true to the show's history. Sure, there were characters that were backburned, but like I'll always say, I'd rather have my favorite backburned than in a horrible story and completely destroyed. The characters on Y&R today aren't themselves. They are pods. Most of the couples on this show are contrived. It's ridiculous.

Is Y&R better than DAYS? It's hard to answer. DAYS has better stories going on right now. They're stories are character-driven, what Y&R used to be all about. However, Y&R is using their vets and there is a sense of familiarity. So it's a hard decision. IMO, I would rather watch DAYS than Y&R. You would never hear that out of me, say 2 years ago. DAYS was a show that I watched out of habit. Y&R was the show that I would skip school to watch. I had to watch the next day. Today, that's been reversed. I find myself watching Y&R out of habit.

It's sad...

Ok, I agree that it is boring right now, have not watched in a week or so, it is on my DVR so I might watch them at some point, but anyway can you explain to me what year that everyday at the end of the show sent chills down your spine? because it has been atleast a decade since that has happened on Y&R, at least IMO anyway. The problem for me right now is LML is writing like Kay Alden and the storylines are just plain boring and taking for ever to get to the point, which is a trait of Alden I never cared for, a few years ago I could go a month without missing anything, LML came in and I had to watch everyday, but now that she is writing like this I can go back to missing it again, because nothing happens anymore. I just wish that LML could stick with character driven storylines, like it should be, but also give it her flavor of speed on the storylines, that would make for great Y&R to me, but doing things like Alden is not going to help LML IMO, yes Kay did character driven storylines, but at what cost, it took 5 years for a storyline to end, and by the end I did not care at all.

LML also needs to stop skipping storylines and going to another one, and then finishing the one she backburnered, that is not working for me at all right now. Like Victor taking down Jack, that was started last year and then dropped for months, and now she is picking it up again, that just kills storylines for me when writers do that, stick with what you start.

I'm thining about 3-4 years ago. I started watching Y&R in 2002, on my summer vacation. And up until August 2006 (LML's terror begins), each episode was can't miss. Something happened everyday to move the storyline along. That's what I'm talking about. Okay, maybe I was exagerating when I said chills were sent down my spine. You get what I was trying to say. The story was moved along in every epsiode, not just once or twice a week. Smith and Alden may have taken a long time to tell a story, but there were twists and turns along the way that kept the storyline interesting. That and the fact that the stories were solely character-driven and it kept viewers interested because they knew that was the character, not the plot. LML's version of a long-term storyline? One word: RELIQUARY. :)

That is very true about the Reliquary storyline, I could not stand that, so I am defiantly hoping that in the future if she plans any more long term storylines that it will be alot better than that one. I also agree with you that the storylines did move everyday, but alot of times it just was not really alot, for the amount of time that was spent on the storylines. I agree that there should be alot more movement than just two days a week, which is what LML does, but in its own way there is alot of movement on those days, which could almost equal the amount of movement that Smith or Alden had doing it everyday, but it should be done everyday, like you said because it is better that way, I just feel if LML ever does go that route that her storylines are going to have to be shorter, and more movement will have to be in each eppy, than what Alden or Smith did, or fans will get just as upset with LML as they did with Alden and Smith for the slow storyline telling.
