I give the show an A for effort. It seems like they are making a conscious decision to bring AMC back to the glory of yesteryear.

I give the balance a solid B+

I give the acting an A++

I give the storylines a C+. They could be better, but they are trying to wrap up McTavish's nonsense. I wish some stories would be over ASAP, so they get a C for storylines. But the acting is a big part of making some of the silly storylines bearable.

Overall: B, pushing on a B+ and by the end of summer if things keep going well, they'll be at a solid A.

C-

For the fact that the Carey hobags are still dominating the show, and when they finally get knocked off their pedestals(and Ryan too) then I might grade the show higher.

Oh and C- cause of them trying to make Adam the bad guy in all of this when he was the VICTIM!

The balance is a little bit better and we're seeing the vets a bit more, but not enough.

Some of the SL's are still plot driven, not character driven.

C+

It is slowly improving, but when is AMC going to drop the filmlook? Are some of you getting AMC in the normal unprocessed video(like other soap operas)Except for that one Friday months ago,SOAPnet and ABC in Chicago,NY and LA are still airing the filmlooked episodes. Is this ABC's decision to keep AMC in filmlook or JHC's? I thought that they were finally getting rid of it?

A+++++++++++++++++++++++

And that has been my grade all along, as I think McTavish was great. The acting is superb, The only characters I really truely hate are JR and Jon, my faves are featured all the time (Erica, currently Janet, Adam, Babe, Krystal, etc), the cliffhangers are jaw-dropping.....this list goes on and on...

Kylie you know I love you girl, but giving AMC an overall bad grade just because of Josh is a little unfair. If AMC were to undo the story that made Josh Erica's son, it'll do the show more harm then good. To backtrack all of the storytelling it took to explain how he came to be, especially after having the audience sit through the storyline, would be a big slap in the face.

I don't look at Josh as "the fetus" anymore because he's much more than that. He's a good brother to Bianca and Kendall. The relationship between Erica and Josh is growing and he's being more than just "Erica's aborted fetus."

We all agree the story was horrible, but we can't live in the past. I happen to like Josh a lot more now than I have a few months ago. But then again that's me.

I still respect your opinion ;)

WORD

My feelings exactly. And you know I love ya too Kylie, but your anti-Josh posts get so repetitive. We get it! ;) Still respect you and your opinion, but you should try to watch the show and form an opinion that way before grading a show D- forever just bc it has the 'fetus'.

D. As long as Babe, Krystal & Josh are in the prime focus of the show and Dixie and Brooke are off the show, then this show will get the grade they so richly deserve. It saddens me that I no longer watch the show after watching this show for about 30 years (I'm 37 now btw).

    • yes. today Monday's episode started with words displayed "part 1" and ended with "to be continued"
    • I find Missy Reeve's views offensive and I don't want to defend her, but I don't think she ever said anything publicly about Days "gay content".   In fact, I don't think she's ever said anything negative about Days at all.  There's no indication Missy is difficult or unprofessional on set-except for the whole affair thing years ago lol-but that's a whole different topic. I can dislike Missy as a person and still think she's the perfect fit for Jen.  Cady tried and it didn't work for me.  Whenever Missy steps into the role it works.  It's a two things can be true situation.  Missy has some bad opinions, but she's great at playing Jennifer.
    • Doesn't the funeral go into Tuesday
    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.
