I found this recently on SOC on the GH board

Sarah Straight Talk!

Sarah Brown is ready for change, as she tells us the real reasons she is leaving "General Hospital" and embracing the daring feature!

SOW: We want to set the record straight about you leaving "GH."

SARAH: I think there's always going to be rumors. As far as I'm concerned but thats not the case and It won't really affect me. I went to Producers in December and asked them to let me off the show. That was my request. I just felt that the work wasn't fulfilling, and that they were taking carly in a direction that I wasnt pleased with and I just didn't want to be a part of it. I'm 26-years-old and I wanna spend time more time with my daughter at the same time grow as an actress. I'm really focused and I just want to do good work and to prove my ability as an actress. I want to work with actors who really care and who want to be there every single day. I want to work with people who care as much as I do, because that's when you do your best work. I'll miss Nancy Lee Grahn a lot. We've spoken like every single day since I left La, and she's one of my best friends and I love her dearly. There were never, ever, any problems between the two of us.

Now I know she didnt like the direction that the writers were taking carly but wow,..this is really something to think about and it does sounds a lil like the Victoria Rowell situation when she only mentions nancy but to be honest..Sarah said many times that she would never return to GH but didnt think she was having problems with the cast also

I think that after winning the Emmy so many times, Sarah really felt she had achieved all she could in Daytime. She definitely wanted to spread her wings, and not just in acting.

But, yeah, JFP probably hastened her decision to quit.

She quit because she wasn't included on a pre-nom ballet, then complained about how she should have won multiple emmys, and now screams "buy my book!" to anyone who gives her the time of day. She's egotistical. You can't twist Sarah Brown leaving GH because of the creative decline of the show and her character into being the same thing.
