Members mateo22
We were just talking about this the other day. I knew, after seeing her in December, that she wasn't doing well. Hopefully Days will still give her a send off worthy of her fantastic career on the show.
Members Ridge
Hopefully she is pain free and peaceful. I hope the show handles her exit well.
Members Brandeis
I hope so, Ridge. She's the grandma I always wanted.
Members R!ck
Oh noooo I knew this was coming but I didn't want to think about it. As my mom and I watched the Christmas show last year, she looked at me and said I bet this is the last time we ever see Alice Horton. She seems so frail, weak and disoriented. I told her Frances was a fighter and a spitfire and I'm sure we would see her again. Now she has Dementia and will never see her again
Members sungrey
Oh God. No wonder the Hayeses are returning. They must want to have some sort of plan in place for when/if Frances passes on. I didn't want to think about this day coming, but it looks like it's here before we knew it.
Members daysfan
Oh dear Lord. My heart about dropped when I saw the topic. I was afraid she had passed but this is just as bad. No more Alice?! I can't even describe my sadness. This woman is the matriarch of the Horton's and I have watched her always provide comfort for any family members or welcome new ones so many times....befreind others.... This is heartbreaking. I am about to cry and I know the tears are coming. I wonder what Days will do? See, I know it would be bad(kind of) to do on the real show, but in my blog after seeing Frances so frail on Christmas I decided to have Alice pass on my blog. I did an episode in Feburary of her slowly dying and having a big episode focused on her. I do wish Days did that though. Because Alice Horton, and I know this cannot be helped, but she deserves a good death and one better than Maggie or some Horton saying "Alice has passed......" Okay, Hogan and Corday, now is the time to drop everything and address Alice. I don't care who's on frontburner, her absence need to be addressed as soon as possible. Addressed in the right way, too. Members KevC1980
This is such sad news...I've grown up with Days and Francis is like a 3rd grandma...But we all knew this day would come, i just hope she can live the rest of her life in peace...I would rather Days wait until she passes to have Alice pass...As the emotion from the entire cast would be so powerful, and they could do a beautiful tribute to this legend....And John Clarke had better agree to return for a few episodes... Members Ridge
I totally agree. In fact this could be very emotional, well told and become a big umbrella storyline to bring everyone together. All of Salem could come together when Alice becomes ill. Emotions can go high, storylines can climax. Who knows, maybe that is what they have planned, like everyone is saying, with the Hayes returning. It should bring Mickey (I'm sure Clarke would return for this), it would be a great way to actually bring back some Hortons into the canvas for the long run, young and old. Members R!ck
I mentioned that theory the other day because I thought something was up, especially with Corday saying that Doug and Julie would be getting major face time. and then said the show was doing a "gotta-watch plot" in which viewers would say "Oh, My God, They are doing that!? Members Ponz
I had a feeling the Christmas episode would be her last. This is such heartbreaking news. If the decision is made to have Alice pass, they need to pull out all the stops. Bring back Susan & Bill Hayes, Missy Reeves and John Clarke (to name a few). They should have at least one stand-alone episode paying tribute to the character with flashbacks and anecdotes about her. If ever there was something TPTB have to get right, it's this. Members daysfan
Even though some major players of some of the original Horton's are sadly deceased, ALL Hortons need to be back if Alice passes. Every single one. Now, the dead Horton's can't really be there, but all the alive ones must. And the episodes would need to be FANTASTIC! Written perfectly and with very flew flaws if there has to be any. Complete focus must be on Alice and her death if they decide to take that route. Nothing else. And it needs to be more than one episode IMO. It would be a death of the possibly biggest character on Days and last original person on the show. It would deserve more than one episode.
