YAY for GH! :) The only soap I watch now! Not that it's really action packed, but I'm sure it will pick up in April before exploding in May again! :)

I am new to GH, so I can't really talk about the past, but still HAPPY B-DAY! :)

Happy 44th Anniversary General Hospital!

It's been one hell of a ride for this viewer over the past 30 years -- From Luke and Laura's adventures to Alan and Monica's extra marital affairs to Robin and Stone and BJ's heart, you've brought some of the best stories to Daytime, and I thank you!

A loyal viewer since 1977

If not next year, they will do something in 2013, when GH turns 50 ;-)

I believe JFP will still be there and the one thing she is good at, are Anniversary episodes. Her last good one was GH's 10,000th episode, it was very good. The 40th Anniversary was disappointing, though

It should also be noted that 44 years ago today, the network daytime TV war official begun in the world of soap opera. Prior to April 1, 1963, no one could touch CBS's soaps. NBC had only half-assed up it to that point and ABC hadn't even tried. Both GH and The Doctors were ABC & NBC's 1st really successful soap operas. NBC proved quicker to get in on the act premiering AW in 64 and Days in 65 while ABC followed with a flurry of short-lived soaps in the mid60s before launching Dark Shadows in 66 and OLTL in 68.
