ATWT: Monday discussion

Ok, so I thought today's show was really good, I could have used a break from the Gwen and Maddie show, but even there stuff was pretty good, though it would have been better if we could have had a break from them today, and showed what we saw today on tomorrows show but oh, well, looks like from the previews that we will have day 10 in a row of Maddie and Gwen. I really don't think Iris has anything to do with any of this, and makes me wonder who is doing it.

I loved the Lily/Faith/Parker/Emma scenes finally some family drama. Henry and V were also great I just love them together. Paul/Meg/Craig please just GAG me.

Gwen and Maddie are killing me, as is Count Dracula aka Craig.

The family stuff was fantastic and I'm LOVING Martha Byrne, but the balance with Gwen and Maddie ruined it for me. I am praying that Jennifer Landon and Jesse Soffer don't renew their contracts!

Henry and Vienna could be so good together. Sad, but I'm really just waiting for JP to screw them up.

I felt so bad for Faith today, with Lily screaming in her face. GMAB...yes Faith and Parker shouldn't have "allowed" Paul to take Ethan....but Paul is a family friend (although with a tainted history...) who just fought off a "wild" dog" and saved her daughter's life last month!! WHAT do they think Paul is going to do? It's not like he's a child molester. If Lily wants to rain down hellfire on Paul, fine by me. Paul is the adult who left Parker and Faith holding the bag. But screaming in Faith's face is not the way to handle any problem. I was glad Parker finally stepped up and told Lily to stop. EMMA tried to do that, and she should have tried harder.

And I was so not impressed with MB's hysterical performance today. The only thing good about it was it probably saved us from yet another "hysterical Gwen" day.

It was good to have a break from Katieb!tch ....but a little odd given where they left it Wednesday.

I actually liked Jade today.

Another boring show for me. Lily's yelling annoyed the hell out of me! The whole show was a mess. The only stuff I found interesting were seeing Emma, Henry shirtless......yummmy...btw and the ending. The rest was easily ff material. What a waste of show.

Tomorrow's show looks even worse with Katie and Brad back.

When will changes be made and Jean P. and Chris G. fired?

I am debating whether to tape ATWT tomorrow. I am so sick of this crap! I might just wait until Scott Bryce returns on April 10. Knowing Jean P. she will totally mess up SB return.

Are the scenes with Maddie and Casey necessary? Seemed a total waste...

Jade has feelings for Will?! WTF?! For months the writing has been geared to moving Jade away from that gang and suddenly she reverts back. I'm dumbfounded.

MB was good today. Although she got a little ugly in her crying scenes...

Damn you Paul, for interrupting Meg and Craig!

I came in with a dream and left with a purpose. From lecture halls to rehearsals, community work to creative sets, every moment shaped me. I’m so proud of the stories I’ve told here — and the ones still unfolding. Grateful to everyone who poured into me, supported me, challenged me, and believed in me. Fours up and peace out! #UCLA #ClassOf2025 #BlackBruinExcellence #YearbookVideo @jordanward
    • The actor who plays Martin has been teasing that nobody has guessed Martin's secret. I love that for things like that and the June story we have no idea. I feel like if we didn't have the day ahead feeds Anita's reveal would've been shocking as well. I love that they aren't going the obvious route with these stories.
    • I tried following the news in Los Angeles at https://laist.com (independent public radio and news) They had up-to-the minute accurate info during the wildfires in January. There's no video, no impact to my mind as to what's happening. Trying other outlets, to get the truth, but it's hard.
    • That's a bit murky since that happened during a writers' strike. Assuming Kristen Marie had a 2-year contract she left about when her contract would have expired and Sharlene and Josie showed up right before that. Lemay was officially credited as HW from September 1988 but it seems very probable that his anticipated tenure influenced events that happened during the strike which started in April.
    • I've seen so many posters over the years who are bright, creative, well-versed in soap history, and who care deeply about the integrity of the genre. I'd put the shows' chances in their hands a lot faster than I would allow any of the "usual suspects" to take control of the dramas they've already helped decimate. When I returned to university in the 1980s, I created a bible for a new soap and presented it in my screenwriting class. It was in reaction to how badly I saw the network shows being butchered at the time. The creative process was thrilling; a total joy, and I still smile when I remember the positive feedback I received from the professor and my fellow students. I was used to seeing written commentary from professors on my work. This one wrote me a long, complimentary note on the final page of the bible, but also graded it 97%, A+. I was beaming ear to ear for days!

    • Thanks. I do wonder if Rose was meant to be more given the caliber of actress they hired. I remembered Sara and Peggy staying longer as they were still on when Soapnet started their repeats. I wonder if that was part of the reason they brought Jake's brother in.
    • Speculation about Missy Reeves' potential evolution on basic civil rights doesn’t change my opinion of her. My view is shaped entirely by her public social media presence—which I find unpalatable—and I have no interest in learning more beyond that. I simply liked Jennifer’s hair and dress. That’s as far as my admiration goes.

    • Cheryl was gone before Lemay came back but I agree with your thinking that he would rather a character from a family he introduced to the show than a family he did not originate.  I remember reading somewhere in the early 90's probably after DS left as writer, their was an either a writer or a producer who made a comment that their intent was bring the McKinnon family back to AW.  Would have made sense for the newer viewers from the 80's.  Much like Lemay's attempt to bring the Frames back from his writing in the 70's in his 1988 return
    • DePriest left in January 1988. According to the AWHP, Rose last appeared nearly a year before in February 1987 while both Sara and Peggy appeared as late as October 1987.
    • Annie was not brought in as an antagonist for Reva. Reva wasn’t even on the canvas when Annie first appeared in late 1994.
