Recommended Posts

I know that in the past SOD does different versions, but I thought they stopped and plus I heard no mention of GL *FINALLY* getting some type of cover...The left is the one I got in the mail and the right is the store bought! Just started getting it this week. Thoughts???

There was another two cover one with the issue dated February 6th, 2007: the one on the website was GH and the one I got (I'm a subsriber) was OLTL.

This is the breakdown so far this year:

AMC: 1 cover. 1 inset = 2

ATWT: 1 cover (shared) = 1

B&B: insets = 1

DAYS: 4 covers (one shared); insets: 1 = 5

GH: 5 covers . 1 inset = 4

GL: 1

OLTL: 1 cover inset = 1 = 2

PSNS: 1 inset = 1

Y&R: 3 covers (one shared) = 3 insets = 1

Basically it is GH, DAYS, Y&R, random soap, then the routine stars over.

You can get the rest of the list at my msn group. http://groups.msn.com/UltimateSoapFan

They've been doing this for a year now, on occasion, but for subscribers issues only. A year ago, they sent a survey to some of their subscribers through email and it had a lot of questions about the cover, so I think this is in response to that.

I hate when they doing that. As a subscriber and GH fan i want the GH covers, but instead of GH you get a cover of a not so popular soap. But in the supermarkets you get the mags with the more popular soaps like GH, Days and Y&R. this is not fair.

The thing is I'm from Europe, so I don't have the chance to go to the supermarket and just buy it, i have to subscribe it. I always looking forward to get the issues with GH on the cover but when they arrive they have other covers (not always but very often). That is what bothers me. Especially with this Scotty cover, i could care less if it was Jason or Sonny/Carly. If they would put GL on the cover from begin with, it would be fine by me. I also love GL, don't get me wrong.

You know what I miss? The old cover photo shoots that they used to do. The last one I saw with GL was the whole Richard dies cover (which was an awesome cover). Now it's just a picture of an actor (or two) with a generic picture. Sigh.

    • NBC must have been grateful to have LHOTP, it's only hit and still strong after several seasons. Their next established show was Rockford Files at 45th. They didn't develop any comedies and relied on movies and mini series  which didnt establish viewer loyalty and habits. Their only new hit was mid season's Project UFO which debuted Feb up against Rhoda/On Our Own on CBS and How the West Was Won on ABC. It opened with a strong 36 share beating CBS and close to ABC as HTWWW had a 36 share over 3 hours. The next week UFO saw a respectable 32 share, then a 31 so it was slipping. A 28 share followed but a few weeks later it jumped back up to a 34. So no blockbuster but compared to what else they had, there was potential, So next season NBC sent it to Thursday up against Mork and The Waltons and it bombed.  They were smart to see potential in Chips, which took off on Saturdaysnext season. ABC was on a roll with Love Boat, 3's Company, Taxi, Eight is Enough adding to their hits. Their only real flops were Redd Foxx and San Pedro Beach Bums, an Aaron Spelling misfire. Like Redd Foxx, Harvey Korman was lured to ABC but his series was a filler that did well but was considered a time slot hit. Nancy Walker and Rob Reiner were also given series on the philosophy that not only were they popular names, their absence from popular shows like Sanford, Rhoda and All in the Family might weaken those shows. CBS were relying on old favorites. Betty White was strong the first few weeks then faded. Incredible Hulk was their strongest newbie. It was lucky for CBS that NBC was doing so badly or else some of their weaker shows would have really suffered.
    • That outfit looks like something Martin would wear lol.
    • Omg not we both ran into people from the show this weekend!
    • I guess he was let out the gates, because he's outside.
    • Yup.  You can hate John all you want, but like seriously he was the cornerstone of the show for years.  So he should get a long ass funeral and burial and all the things because Drake and John deserve that.

      look who’s at a party I’m at
    • Yes. We should absolutely move on from John/Drake's 40 year legacy on the show to see what Leo is going to do tomorrow.  Lol.  This can't be a serious post.

I came in with a dream and left with a purpose. From lecture halls to rehearsals, community work to creative sets, every moment shaped me. I’m so proud of the stories I’ve told here — and the ones still unfolding. Grateful to everyone who poured into me, supported me, challenged me, and believed in me. Fours up and peace out! #UCLA #ClassOf2025 #BlackBruinExcellence #YearbookVideo @jordanward
    • The actor who plays Martin has been teasing that nobody has guessed Martin's secret. I love that for things like that and the June story we have no idea. I feel like if we didn't have the day ahead feeds Anita's reveal would've been shocking as well. I love that they aren't going the obvious route with these stories.
