Kenny, i feel the same way about Chelsea..she's currently my favorite character as well, tied with Sami though......And its because Rachel Melvin just lights up the screen when she's on...also hogan has done wonders for her character and has actually let her mature a little...She's not trying to reunite her parents anymore, and is actually doing something to help other people..

Okay, here is a prime case in point. This episode was OK but there are several things to be said here.

There were only 3-4 FAMILIAR FACES in this show. Kate, Lucas, Sami and Belle.

Then you have nuPhillip, nuShawn, Nick, Willow, EJ and Chelsea who has up until now been a character made to hate! There is a problem with this. Where is the familiarity?? How are viewers suppose to connect with these shows?? I can't stand Nick. I know he has fans here but him being a Horton means nothing. He has no historical presence on this show and he was introduced with his family members either (at least GH does that usually when they are going to introduce a teen from a family). Him being a Horton is just like saying the 1999 teen invasion was fine because all of those teens were core family members. Though, I do agree that is not as close to being as bad as that was.

Nick is all over the place and I hate it when writers introduce new characters and make them instant heroes (which Nick has been since day one seeing as though he found the cure for Steve and Kayla). It shows that a writer has favoritism towards his creations and Hogan is clearly threading those waters. IA Nick is not that bad but he's all over the place and he is a TEEN. This show revolved all around these new faces, or relatively new faces. If someone was to say, wow DAYS is so good now you should really watch and that person decided to watch this episode, what would they see? New characters. Stupid special effects. Oh yeah, and EJ who is Susan Banks kid from 10 years ago.. what he's 30 already??

It's bologna. And Nick and Chelsea are being shoved down our throats. Maybe some are enjoying seeing their romance build but I'm not and it shouldn't be taking up a lot of airtime either. Abby has more historical relevance than Nick and she has been on the show for years, yet, she has become second fiddle to Nick, just like she was to Chelsea when Chelsea first came on. If he should be writing for a Horton teen it should be Abby.

And this Phillip thing blows chunks as well. It is dumb that he is chasing after a child when he has a child that is biologically his that is going to be born soon and he doesn't care about it. It makes no sense. I can understand that he is attached to Claire but they should at least address the surrogate issue.

And tomorrow's episode doesn't look that much better either.

Is Nick a teen? I thought he was in his early 20s.

Chelsea is eighteen. Granted, she has a teen behind her age, but she is legally an adult. The same with Abby. So I don't consider them kids.

And despite Nick being a creation of Hogan, he still is a Horton. Chelsea is a Brady/Kirakis. Abby is a Horton. It's not like SSM & Langan's era when unconnected teens like Chloe, Jan, Susan, Kevin, and Mimi were taking over the show. They have ties to the two main families. And unlike the other characters seven years ago, the writing is better, the actors are better, and the stories are better. Yes, it is frustrating when newbies and certain characters take over the show, but better the next generation of core families than unconnected newcomers.

Philip not going after his biological child IS dumb though. I hope the writers will bring back the surrogate on and Philip has a change of heart and seeks custody of the baby. These characters need to start going after things and people they can actually have.

    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
