American Idol Contestants Sign Contract Telling Them They Will Be Made Fun Of - William Hung Has Made Over A Million

On an episode of Larry King Live called “American Idol Stars and Losers,” some of the most famous American Idol rejects and American Idol finalists from previous seasons weighed in with their opinions on the show. Previous American Idol finalists on the show included Justin Guarini, Kimberly Caldwell, Ace Young, and Bucky Covington.

American Idol 5 finalist Bucky Covington offered one of the most interesting tidbits of information. Bucky revealed that after they get past that first round that contestants sign a contract that says “if there’s anything funny about you, we’re going to go after it” and “we’re going to hurt your feelings.” Bucky also talked about his upcoming debut on the Grand Ole’ Opry that will occur on March 9, 2007.

Rejected American Idol 6 contestants appearing on Larry King Live included Ian Benardo, Sarah Goldberg, Chris Henry, and Frank Byers. Ian Benardo said he didn’t feel taken advantage of because he got so much publicity out of it, but Sarah Goldberg said that she got suckered in and complained about the judges showing up late for the auditions. Chris Henry said his audition has led to some Broadway job offers, and Frank Byers said he was taking voice lessons to get ready to go back next year.

The most famous American Idol reject of all, William Hung, also appeared and sang his new single “Achy Breaky Heart.” After Bucky Covington started laughing, Larry King asked William Hung if he had made over a million dollars so far. Hung smiled and answered “Uh, well, it’s safe to say, it’s safe to say.”
