The song is "Not Such An Innocent Girl". I like the video for that song.

Football is alright....I guess. My dad played semi-pro and my brother played all the way until college. It's boring to me though.

Baseball isn't as popular as it used to be.

Basketball is the most boring of all to me though.

Soccer is fun and sexy. The only sports that comes close to being as sexy is rugby, gymnastics, or swimming. Hopefully having beckham in the club will perhaps bring a little more popularity in the states.

As for the whole gay porn thing......he's closer to that then we might think. This man knows who is biggest fanbase is.....he's no fool.

They are Scientologists. They are already looking at a 7 million house down the street from Tom Cruise. Not too bright. They won't be the big deal they are in the UK because soccer isn't as big as baseball, football or basketball. I've lived in L.A. for 20 years and I didn't even know they had a soccer team. That wife of his is a freak. Can't wait for the press to go crazy on all of her over-spending "entitled" crap.

I hadn't realized until the other day that there were any professional soccer teams in the US other than the team that competed and lost in the Olympics.

Soccer is to the US what basketball is to the UK.

It's just not that popular with Americans, and that money could go a very, very, very, very long way to helping the less fortunate.

I don't think he will be successful in certain parts of the US, especially Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cleveland---grittier towns where the population is more blue collar, because of his image. He's a pretty boy and seems to spend a lot of his time more on appearance and image than anything. Except for a few athletes, I don't think US sports fans really care what the person looks like, as long as they are doing what they need to do to win and are helping to instill pride in the team.

Unless the sport is one wear appearance is an overall part of the presentation, like figure skating and gymnastics, then sports really shouldn't be considered sexy.

I agree with that Bree...I watch a lot of basketball games this time of year, and a lot of those guys look like they've been beaten with an ugly stick. The same holds true for football and basketball. The name and legacy of the team is more important. In other words, for many, the name on the front of the jersey is more important than the person wearing the jersey. A prime example of this is the legacy of college basketball teams such as Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, etc... .

Beckham, and professional soccer in general, will as Bree pointed out not be as popular in a lot of America's Midwestern and Great Plains blue collar, working class cities and states. Many people in those parts of the country probably couldn't give a flying leap about soccer.

Soccer is just not that appealing in this country, and I don't see David Beckham changing how we feel about soccer. Now if this were for the NBA, NFL, or MLB Americans would be more accepting...but soccer....no.

What a waste of money.
