Members JER Soaps Fan
I disagree. "Passions" HAD the grounds to be cocky. People keep forgetting that at one time, this WAS the most buzzed about soap AND (denial, denial) the most critically acclaimed. It WAS. These are facts. People don't want to admit it because the show was so different and untraditional, but that's the way it was. So JER and the show DID have clout. It did have bragging rights. I will agree, however, that JER let it all go to his head, and the result was laziness, a supersized ego and horrible pacing.
Members KLN
I think that RionPassions and his psychotic attitude drew most of the attention, JSF.
Members JER Soaps Fan
I answered, daysfan, lol. Either use the official "Peacocks SUCK!" avatar or the official "Boycott the Today show" banner (with matching "Member ... Brigade" signature line). Next, mail NBC a letter showing your support for "Passions" and NBC Daytime. Also, be sure to include a link to this thread, which shows the support for the effort thanks to the rapidly growing brigade and its banners. It's really that simple. Members daysfan
I read SOME Of the arguement between Rion and others, and even though I have been just thinking this for a while and not go public with this, I think Rion....well....this might seem stupid but he IS JER! However, why is everyone getting onto him?
Members JER Soaps Fan
Nah, that lasted just 10 or 12 pages. Plus, the thread continues and Rion is healed.
Members Mason
You did read the posts where he came on to me (no, I'm not even kidding), right? Or at least the ones where he wished cancellation and general misery on DAYS fans?
Members JER Soaps Fan
Daysfan, he has said things that have made me suspicious as well. But it's highly unlikely, right? I mean, remember when EVERYONE on SON thought King Reilly was James E. Reilly? And then we learned that was false. So this could be just like that. But Rion, if you are JER, my gosh, I have a TON of questions for you, my ex-role model.
Members Mason
I'd have tons of comments for you too -- and not a one of them would be flattering, I can guarantee you that!
Members daysfan
Actually, right when I got here, I thought King was JER too! But, that was different, because right after reading a few posts on SON, I KNEW King could not be JER! Rion, however, my suspicions are raised. I know I SHOULD know this, but what's NBC's email address?
Members Mitchapalooza
Although I understand that some major network players have addressed this rumour and stated it is being considered, I think in the end NBC will decide to keep PASSIONS around a bit longer, at least through the next few sweeps periods. If not, well I can say that I will be sad to see PASSIONS go, but I would be sad to see another SOAP go...so if I had to pick I would definetly choose to keep PASSIONS on the air. I truly feel that although it will have some impact on DAYS, I don't think it will reach the heights that some of you are suggesting, the arguments are just too "what if" for me to agree with them right now. Anyways we are fans of a dying genre, we had to know this was going to come eventually. Lets hope for the best, but prepare for the worst, just in case I guess. Members Rhiannon
He's been bugging people or a few MONTHS now, and has yet to disapear. It's his lingering around that's really suspicious.......IMHO
Members PhoenixRising05
This thread is still going strong Let's keep it going guys I do agree Mitch. I don't think this will have as much impact on Days intially as people say. Personally, I am not worried about Days for the first time in awhile. They made casts cuts and things should be fine for now. I think Days can survive for awhile alone because, seriously, what else can NBC do in that time slot? They must want something other then syndicated programming on during the day and Days does still succeed in demos and is slightly improving. I don't think NBC would allow Days to bring in a new, emmy-award winning HW to try to improve the show and then cancel it without giving Hogan and the show some time to improve ratings and such. If Days ever does get canned, I know someone will pick them up. I don't want that to happen but I know it will and another soap will suffer, sadly. I just want to leave Days out of this right now because Passions is the current target and no one knows what is happening yet there. These rumors always spread at this tiem every year and, hopefully, they go nowhere just like every year. Anyways, back to Passions, I hope that it stays around a bit longer just for the genre's sake. I also hope, if it does, that changes are made to make it finally realize it's potential.
Members daysfan
The wishing cancellation part I did read. And for that Rion, I partially agree with them. I CAN'T Believe you would dare wish cancellation on a soap and misery on people, which would include me, just because of how they treated JER, who DESERVED to be treated that way! He deserved to be fired, and you should be happy because now he can give his full attention to Passions. But no, you still want revenge on Days because they fired your idol, or, mabye even they fired you. And, he CAME ONTO YOU?! I don't want to get into a big discussion about it but Rion, that's rude!!!!!! I'll dare you do that! There are hardly no words. Now, I don't want to start another arguement, but Rion, I serously am beginning to think you are JER. You show all the attributes of him, and you get alot of spoilers for the show. Anyway, back on topic, which is Passions, I hope they do not get cancelled, and I just hope NBC realizes how many fans there are of the show and that a fourth hour of Today will fail. Members Soapsuds
I dont think Days will be canned anytime soon. But what gives u the idea another network would pick it up? You sure are positive about that one. AW, Santa Barbara and Sunset Beach were canned and no other network picked them up.
