Is Passions being cancelled?

Please, the show wasn't the same after 2002. So, I disagree. The show was cooking on all cyclinders back when it got that 2.9 with the alive burial, Theresa's engagement, Hecuba and all the other shenanigans. All the stories were working and the show literally LOOKED great. The aesthetic appeal and balance began to decline around late 2001 and then 2002. So that's why the ratings went down. Viewers like eye candy just as much as they like good stories and fast pacing, and the show's look went to hell in early 2002.

Last week

Today's Show I 6am-8am

Viewers: 5.5 million

Households: 4.3/15

25-54: 1.2

18-49: 1.0

18-34: 0.4

Today Show II

Viewers: 3.6 million

HH: 2.9/11

25-54: N/A

18-49: 0.7

18-34: N/A

Passions

Viewers: 2.2 million

HH: 1.7/6

25-54: 1.4/8

18-49: 1.4/8

18-34: 1.4/9

Today has 3.3 million more viewers than Passions and Today II 1.4 million more, but PSNS beats both in all the demos.

That is not fair -- especially when you consider the first two years of the show. They were more entertaining than this thread.

And "Passions" can recapture that glory. It just needs the right writer, instead of Mr. Ego (who has gone so far off the deep end that many viewers have speculated he is trying to sabotage "Passions" to get "Days" canceled by domino effect -- not to mention those who are so taken aback by his ego that they ACTUALLY speculate he is behind the Drake stalker incident, as another means of revenge on "Days of Our Lives.") I used to love the man but after all these years, it's time for a change. A co-head writer and more network control.

If Today I averages 5.5 million then it erodes 40% to 3.6 million for Today II. Say Today III erodes another 40% (highly likely) It will be getting worse numbers (1.9-2.0 million) than PSNS.

Just makes no sense to me at all.

Well, y'know, discussing the cancellation of Passions, people are sure to begin guessing on what kind of affect it'll have on the rest of the industry as a whole. Days stands to be affected the most by it.

After all... does anyone REALLY care if Passions survives because of how great it is? Aside from a rare few, hell no. I only care what will happen to the shows I actually give a damn about as a result, LoL
