Same here. I'm very surprised she's lasted this long. I bet she wants out though. Working for LML is not worth all the headaches. LOL

Yup.

News from ATWT......and another soap.....for a total of 3 updates. ;)

Jean Passanate seems as entrenched as Megan McTavish was at AMC. If that is the case, prepare for a few more years guys, sorry to say. I just can't see how ATWT/CBS can justify keeping her on, and no one could see anyway ABC could justify keeping McT on so long at AMC....

Its really bizarre. Its like the mantra in daytime these days is stick with the devil you know.

There used to be head writing changes like underwear changes. A team could get overhauled like 2 or 3 times a year. Not anymore.

I have taken several writing courses and seminars by soap writers. Going way back. I've hung out with now-deceased Joe LeSeur in NY who wrote for AW and was good friends with Dorthea Ann Pursur. I've taken courses taught by Barbara Seiger at the New School in NY. I've seminared with C. Labine, J. Passanante and others. And I used to wait on Melissa Salmons when she'd come into my store in the village in NY.

I also know a few writers on staff of some shows today.

I was trying to clarify the YR writing credits.

Ahern and MacLaughlin write breakdowns exclusively, so when they're names are listed alone in the credits that means that one of the headwriters wrote the script. THat would usually be Bennett/Gottesfeld who are continuing to write dialog and contribute to story.

James Stanley is exclusively a breakdown writer so when his name is listed alone the dialog was penned by Bennett Gottesfeld.

When no name appears after the headwriter list (Latham.Hamner.B/G, Dufour and Slater) that means that Dufour wrote the breakdown and B/G wrote the dialog.

Sorry to keep harping on this, but I, for one, have NEVER understood the Y&R writing credits. Could you possibly demonstrate what you're talking about?

For instance, All My Children credits are listed.
