November 23, 200619 yr Member NEVER!! Josh Ryan Evans IS and always will be Timmy, it would be in BAD taste if they ever recasted Timmy, especially since the character died on screen, which coincided on the same day that Evans died in real-life. Let Timmy RIP IMO!
November 23, 200619 yr Member No new doll, no recast. It would all be in poor taste, like Mitch said. He died the same day as his character and it should be left alone. Even bringing this up IMO is kind of offensive.
November 23, 200619 yr Member It is not disrepectful to discuss this. It's a discussion board. People discuss. He wouldn't be the first character who is re-casted because the portrayer died.
November 23, 200619 yr Member I am aware King but he died onscreen the same day as he did in real life. It is still hard to even think about it and the mere fact that this is even being brought up by a diehard Passions fan stuns me. I have never heard any Passions fan on the net or anywhere even suggest this. Cracked Connie wasn't even a replacement and that got a huge uproar and this would be worse. It's one of those subjects that should not be touched. Yes characters whose portrayers died have been recasted but this is different. JRE touched everyone's hearts and was a true inspiration. He created a unique and fantastic character and Passions eerily provided great closure to the character and to the whole idea of Tabitha having a doll sidekick. It should and needs to be left alone and it will be left alone. Juliet would never stand for the idea even being brought up. Yes, anything can be discussed but to me this is pushing it. We will just have to disagree King.
November 23, 200619 yr Member Oh vey. Calm down, PR! As I said, I say no. But is it out of the realm of possibility? Um. Nothing shocks me with PSNS now.
November 23, 200619 yr Member Oh I am calm King. I just got upset by this because that day I cried my eyes out over this and I never cry about much of anything. Sorry to jump on you. I just don't like the thought of it.
November 23, 200619 yr Member I would take the road that others have taken and say it would be offensive and in poor taste, but that's already been said, so how about the obvious? There's no NEED for a Timmy or other doll at this point. Remember: Timmy was a LAST-MINUTE addition to the show. James E. Reilly has said in MANY interviews that he created Timmy so Tabitha could have a sounding board and someone with whom she could discuss her evil plans. But now, she's no longer a lonely woman. She has Endora for that. Timmy, nor ANY living doll, has a place on this show -- unless of course Endora died and Tabitha created an Endora doll. But that would be difficult since Emily Cox doesn't have the condition JRE had and dolls never change, growth-wise, etc. For all these reasons, I guarantee you it will NEVER happen.
November 23, 200619 yr Member Oh! I actually loved Cracked Connie! So did I, King. I really don't understand fans' reactions sometimes. I wasn't offended by her at all and I NEVER viewed her as a replacement for Timmy. She was wickedly evil and the total opposite of Timmy and that's why I liked her. I don't think they should recast Timmy but bringing back "Cracked Connie" would suit me just fine.
November 23, 200619 yr Member I think alot of people thought of Cracked Connie as a replacement for Timmy because Zombie Charity kept telling Tabitha it could be a new Timmy. JMO And NO to recasting Timmy, that is JRE's role and in his honor Timmy should never be recast. Timmy still lives on on Passions, because Endora wouldn't be here if he did not die, and Charity has his heart, and he sometimes even glows from heaven (we just don't see JRE).
November 23, 200619 yr Member Endora's great as Tabitha's sounding board. It was so funny yesterday when Endora said what had just appeared in the bubble "Why'd you turn off the tv?". That was so cute. And she said it so naturally and perfectly. I think they're pretty close to giving her real lines in a script. Thinking about it, if they brought someone in who was Timmy reincarnated, and Tabitha didn't recognize him because he looked nothing like Timmy, but he started saying stuff to her like Timmy would, or he made her a martimmy without being told the recipe, and Tabitha was suspicious of him but didn't know what was going on...I think there are ways to bring the character of Timmy back, but I think it might be painful for long time viewers of the show who were so attached to JRE and brokenhearted by his death.
November 23, 200619 yr Author Member I just thought that if Timmy were recast, it would shut people up who have been complaining about Passions in the recent months.
November 23, 200619 yr Member Hell. No. I'm not a PSNS fans by any means but even I felt bad when JRE died. You just don't screw around with those emotions. Did AW recast Wallingford when Brent Collins died? Nope.

Reilly has said in MANY interviews that he created Timmy so Tabitha could have a sounding board and someone with whom she could discuss her evil plans. No, he wasn't. In an interview from 1998 in SOW I am looking at right now he mentions Timmy and Tabby. So did I, King. I really don't understand fans' reactions sometimes. I wasn't offended by her at all and I NEVER viewed her as a replacement for Timmy. She was wickedly evil and the total opposite of Timmy and that's why I liked her.
