ATWT Discussion Week of November 6

Today was just fantastic, Katie and Simon were hot, loved there scenes, Katie has almost been redeemed in just one show. Jack and Carly loved them. I was crying through almost every Katie Simon and Carly Jack moment today. The fact that Will and Gwen were missing also helped to make it a great show. Even Craig and Lucy were interesting. Also it is official Casey needs to get a life, and so does his girlfriend Maddie. I have an idea maybe Jade can hook up with Casey for a while, so he can be interesting again.

Thanks winterguy. I am still learning on the banners..lol.

As for the show, I love how today's show was about relationships. Pure and simple. That's what soaps use to be about. I just wish it hadnt taken so long for Simon/Katie and Carly/Jack to have these vital important scenes. The aftermath should be good.

Today was awesome. At first, I was a little bored. Thought it would be same old Jack/Carly Simon/Katie fighting -- boy was I surprised as they got more into it. I though MW was amazing in the scenes where Carly told Jack that she wasn't what he needed and that she could not change for him. And, of course, the kicker that Simon makes her happy -- the look on MP's face--WOW.

PL deserves extra points for his scenes because we usually get scheming, funny Simon -- nice to see him showing his emotional range. SKatie used to be my favorite couple and it was great how Simon was adamant that it wasn't all fake. TC also was great. We all felt her pain when Simon left her -- twice -- and it was great to see her rage about being left both times. These two really do have awesome chemistry. And you could tell that they were into the scenes.

Very satisfied. It was an unusual episode and it worked well.

Today was mostly good, but I had to keep switching the channels when Katie and Simon came on. Katie's emo-ness grates on my nerves. I haven't been watching ATWT long and I get that she used to be a dynamic and fun character but all that's been sucked away, leaving someone I can't find sympathy for.

I do have to say I'm glad Carly stood up to Jack. She's only one of the few females on the show recently who choose to act instead of having constantly having things done to them. She creates her own problems and solutions (not all great ones) and it's fun to watch.

I like the fresh perspective Adam comes with. I'm glad he hasn't completely fallen in love with Gwen, who seems to be the town sweetheart (Death to anyone who dislikes her!). Coming in from the outside I would be asking the same question Adam is. Why are Casey and Will so adamant that he work with her and why should be put his career on the line for someone he's not sure about? Gwen may be talented but she may not be the next superstar.

First off 0805.gif to the SON boards danger.angel....

The Skatie scenes were good; however, I can actually see Katie losing both Simon and Mike because of how she's been acting.

Tomorrow should be interesting....More Gwen/Jade drama....It would be nice to see Jade interact more with Dallas instead of Adam and the rest of the Munson/Hughes boys.....

Ok - Adam is really annoying the hell outta me lately.

Nice seeing Lily and Carly have some fun scenes...I've rarely seen them interact on this show, so it was a nice surprise.

I need a shower after watching Craig today. Anyone else get the sinking feeling Craig is pushing Lucy and Dusty together, just so he can discredit Lucy in a custody fight? It's like he's whoring his daughter so he can have his son. ICK. But typical Craig.

Poor Carly. Trusting yet another man who's gonna grind her heart in to dust. :o

I'm lovin' Adam telling Gwen to shut up and suck it up! LOL!!

Simon and Katie deserve each other. I'm glad Katie finally got to the realization she's a nasty person. Simon shouldn't have stopped her from saying it either.

Of course they are going to have Adam and Gwen butt heads and dislike one another; just as they did when she first met Will. I can see them being paired up from far away....And Jade, hasn't lost her touch in lurking behind trees and stuff to snoop. It would be funny to one day see her ear hustling in the background, only for someone to come up to her and bust her

Don't care how much Katie wants to feel sorry for what she does; she's not. She wanted to rip the clothes off Simon the minute she laid eyes on him again. Now, we're going to have to hear both of them (Simon and Katie) whine about how 'bad' they feel for what they did, while Carly and Mike have to stand there figuring out what in the world they are talking about. It's time to cut the mixed couples and put the folks who should be together back where they belong. It's long past due now.

Loved the Lily/Carly scenes....wish they focused more on the female friendships again at times.

Really loved Tom dropping Craig like a hot potato. I knew eventually Tom would do the right thing and cut himself from Craig's manipulations. Absolutely love seeing more of Margo as well. What took the writers so long to give them a good story that didn't involve teens.

I'm PISSED that Lucy blamed Craig for Bryant's death. Even though I love her, it was JENNIFER who led him to being upset the night he died.

Lusty 2.0 are disgusting! I hate them with the passion of a thousand burning suns.

I feel bad for Craig. :( Now that Tom has jumped ship I hope TIIC bring in Jessica as Craig's attorney.

At this point I'm so bored I desperately want a trial.

I'm glad that Tom realized that working for Craig would pose a potential problem with he and Margo's marriage. Can't really blame Tom for walking away.

What I saw was great! I missed the last half hour due to our affiliate going off the air. So Tom dropped Craig. Hmmm..I missed that. I cant stand Lucy. I hope Dusty hurts and betrays her.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys!

I missed the last fifteen minutes of the show so I'm commenting on what I did see.

Carly/Lily

Their scenes annoyed me because the wonderful talk about Simon basically sets Carly up as a loser. I feel an "I told you so" coming from Jack in the near future. I can already see Jack getting all high and mighty and "putting Carly in her place", which is right by his side, always failing to meet his high expectations. I don't like the Carly/Simon pairing and I do hope that Carly finds someone who does love her and puts up with her craziness instead of throwing it in her face constantly. I'm a new watcher to the show and I immediately questioned the CarJack pairing because it seemed Carly was giving more love than she was getting. Jack knew Carly was always loyal to him so he could walk away and come back anytime he wants. I want their separation to continue after Simon. I would think less of Carly if she went running back to Jack's arms.

Tom/Margo/Craig

With Tom walking away from Craig I'm guessing there'll be no storyline for them. It would have been great to watch them fight over Craig and go through a rough patch that brings up other issues in their marriage. Here was a good starting point for a story and it's dropped. Tom choosing Margo was the right thing, but it was a dramatic cop-out.

Dusty/Lucy

I'm not ready to blame Spencer Grammer for the horrible way Lucy comes off. The writing is awful. It has her as a wide-eyed ingenue who's a little bit too innocent for my tastes. Lucy is a grown woman and should not be leaning on Dusty in such a dependant way. I got sick watching her curled up against him. He looked more like her father than Craig does. The conflicted relationship she has with Craig, where she does display some strenght, is what she would have with Dusty.

Katie/Simon

I still have no sympathy for Katie. She's playing up the hysterical victim role and I hate it. When she came down in that pink robe I could immediately spot her putting on this persona of childish helplessness, as if it was all Simon's fault they'd slept together.

Will and Casey

Casey and Will have been on my crap list for some time and it's no surprise that they didn't endear me to them today. Gwen sounds the alarm and they come running, ready to protect her, but from what? What I hate most about this scenario is the way their childish actions are implied to be right.

Gwen

I do not like Gwen. I must be one of five people. She's the new Jennifer. She's done terrible things but because a bad thing happened to her she's the golden girl nobody can talk bad about. In my opinion, Gwen lacks personality. It's possible she had it when she arrived, but it's gone now. Life happens to Gwen, Gwen doesn't happen to life. I always see her reacting instead of acting. Her comments about her ability to hold her own because of her past experience seems empty to me when she just was unable to defend herself without Casey and Will. Gwen's past is irrelevant to me because it seems just another story to pull out to prove how good she is. I thought she was going to listen in on the conversation between Adam and Jade and get some info, but instead she raises and fuss and takes this self-righteous stance. She's right in her anger towards Jade, but throwing tantrums at every turn doesn't make me like her.

Adam/Jade

I like Adam because he's new to everything like me. He's not been in Oakdale for a while and he's questioning what everyone else sees as normal. I'd be really upset if he just accepted everything as is. Some are already thinking Adam is evil because he isn't worshipping at the altar of St. Gwen, but I like that he hasn't. Whether or not I come around on Gwen depends on of it can be presented that it's okay that someone doesn't like her without being evil.

Jade is back to skulking and I love it. I was smiling just as she was when Adam was speaking to Gwen. I think Jade sees Adam as someone she can click with. He has a different perspective in a town of similar-thinking people.

Wow, that was long.

DA, I hope you get to see Carjack's magic. I'm a total homer, but this ain't really them right now. I think Jack's out of the "I told you so" phase, so hopefully he won't look like such a jerk.

Teehee... down with Lusty 2.0. Do I hear an AMEN??!!

I really do want to see the CarJack magic. You can't ignore a couple that's helped made the show what it is. I want Jack to have more personality and show that he can meet Carly as an equal.

Lusty 2.0 sucks and I mostly blame the privileging of Dusty. He's in charge, he's in control and he's always right. I want Lucy to challenge him. I loved when she told him off a few weeks ago. Spencer Grammer was shining and I want to see her grow.
