I would love to talk about the ratings one night and how they are compiled. There are countless reasons why soaps are dying, but a big one IMO is how the ratings are counted so darn improperly. The samples of households they use to count the ratings are so small and the DVR sample is even smaller. DAYS, GH, and Y&R always get the bigger bump with Live + same day ratings which has me think more people watch soaps especially Y&R, DAYS, and GH. I either tape or DVR DAYS everyday, as well as many other shows. I know a lot of other people who do the same, not to mention wait and watch their soap on SoapNet. More people are watching soaps I just wish there was a realistic way of actually finding the correct number of viewers, so the soaps in general will have gained viewership therefore having a bigger budget.

I also wondered why people never fussed about Brandon Walker on DAYS being Abe Carver and Faye Walker's long lost son. Matt Cedano doesn't look like he could be half black/half white. I don't even remember a discussion at all about this, yet there was a huge debate over at Y&R about Lily. Why is that?

Just random things I was thinking about lately.
