I thought the confrontation between Olivia and Ava was pretty good. I love Buzz's reactions. Right now I can't tell if Olivia cares about Ava at all or if she just wants to get away with everything she's done.

I like Mallet and Marina. I hope it goes somewhere.

I've only seen Monday's show so far.

I still can't stand Reva.

There was something funny about Jonathan telling Tammy he trashed the fish shack because he didn't think she was going to come. Those two are so messed up, I love it.

The Lizzie & Jonathan scenes were kind of sweet I gotta admit.

Cassie's getting closer to the truth...I hope she finds out first (out of all the people who don't know yet) that Reva has cancer!

I like Mallet & Marina, too! A big part of me thinks, though, that they'll just be an obstacle for the endgame, Mallet & Dinah. I rather they put Dinah with someone else. I'm already sick of her acting like an immature kid around Mallet.

Apparently, it's been forgotten that Mallet was named Marina's godfather when she was born. I don't want them together and I want Marina to dip her toes into a different dating pool.

Okay I am sick and tired of David Kriezman's answer to show Jonathan's anger is to have him scream, yell and throw things...once a week is enough....twice a week and two days in a row is more than enough.

And I agree...Marina needs to dip her toes into a dating pool that her mother and aunt haven't already floated around in.

Meh...I didn't see people complaining about Blake & Ross. <_< Marina is not the only soap character to have been involved with her mother/aunt's former lovers.

Marina was involved with the man who could have been her father and now her godfather.

Ross did not marry Holly nor did he think that he was Blake's father unlike Marina and Alan-Michael. Marina keeps falling for men who were married to her Aunt Harley and her mother and that is why it is disgusting.

And the fact that Blake went after Ross (while he was with Holly) was an important part of the story. Blake went after Ross *specifically* to hurt Holly (exactly why, I forget), but they ended up falling in love with one another. If I remember correctly, it was quite a scandal. However, in regards to A-M & Mallet, their previous connections to Marina have been glossed over and hardly mentioned. Of course, in A-M's regard, that might be because the actor is clearly too young to possibly have been Marina's father. IMO, A-M should have been cast with an older actor in the late 30s/early 40s age range.

OH man Friday's show this week blew me away again. Tom Pelphrey & Stephanie Gatschet were remarkable. Their scenes were so heartfelt, and were so heartbreaking. Loving the start of Olivia in court too.

I am sort of getting used to everyone now, but I just do not like this Alan Michael at all. I agree with Matt that he should have been cast with someone lots older. I like the interaction of him and Alan, but the actor is just too young.

I don't like Marina at all.

This is my attempt to congest my recap for this whole week...

Tuesday's show - Ehh..pretty blah to me. It's been a busy week and I think that was one show I fell asleep while watching and had to rewind and watch again.

Wednesday's show - It was great seeing Richie Coster again. I loved the scenes with the baby doll. Those were friggin' hilarious yet disturbing at the same time. I got a total Lillian/Ed/Maureen vibe with the Tammy/Jonathan/Lizzie. While Jonathan & Lizzie aren't supposed to be the couple we're rooting for here, they still somehow made Tammy & Jonathan look unhealthy and all sorts of wrong.

Thursday's show - GusH just bores the heck out of me. What a waste of airtime. I love Alan-Michael and feel the character has so much potential. Why put him with someone like Ava??? Why??? Jonathan was acting like an a--hole to Tammy whether he meant to or not. HE'S the one that came to her in the first place, not the other way around. I thought Tom Pelphrey, Stephanie Gatschet, and Marcy Rylan were great in this episode. Poor Tammy was just trying to help when she came to check up on Jonathan & Lizzie at the hospital and she ended up being treated like she was a nuisance. Lizzie showed genuine disappointment in Jonathan leaving her to go straight to Tammy. Lizzie has such a tendency to go over the top but she played it subtle today. Olivia discussing her rape with Buzz...good stuff.

Friday's show - I realize now that the only time I can stand Ava is when she's in scenes with Olivia. I don't want her with Coop, or Alan-Michael, or anyone else. She's just not that appealing to me.

LOVED seeing Lillian snap at Lizzie and later on, Beth. What was up with the 180 on Lizzie's part? She went from being angry in such a cold way to practically excusing Jonathan for all his actions.

Steve, I totally agree with you about how good the scenes with Tom Pelphrey & Stephanie Gatschet were. These two have no problem portraying raw emotion. SG did the CBS netcast today and admitted that her and Tom redid that scene 3 times! :o Talk about dedication and work that finally paid off because it was that good! It really felt like an actual breakup...not like most contrived breakups on soaps where it's so obvious they are only mere ploys in the meantime before the couple gets back together. Both TP & SG could easily submit these scenes for the Emmys. Jonathan weirded me out when at the end, he pretended to be okay with Lizzie because even though he was all smiles, it was so clear that he wasn't happy.

That scene where Alan tells Olivia that the key witness isn't coming and that she should relax...with Ava opening the door at the very end...good way to end the show. One of those times where I enjoy Ava. <_<

My memory is vague but I believe Blake blamed Holly for her losing Alan-Michael.

Speaking of Alan-Michael and Blake, now that Ross is presumed dead this would have been a great chance to delve into history and pair A-M and Blake up again. With the possibilty of hooking Dinah up with A-M also, it would have been simply fasinating to watch.

This A-M is okay, but I think the show could have done better. He's just to young for my taste, and this whole thing with Marina has tainted the actor and character in my eyes.

As for Friday's show, I DO NOT THINK I CAN HATE AVA ANYMORE than I did watching her with Coop in front of Company. This whole "Woe is me" act she is putting on sickening. Grow a FREAKING backbone. DK missed the boat with making Ava, Olivia's daughter. Olivia is strong, independent, and firery. Ava, is just a flat, wimpy, whiny excuse for a character. IMHO she needs to be killed off.

MichaelGL...ICAM more. Except about not liking this A-M much. I love him! But they are wasting him by putting him in a possible triangle with Ava & Coop. I just don't care to see that happen at all. If they did a Dinah/Alan-Michael/Blake triangle..I'd be all for it.

Ava..well, everyone knows how I feel about the character for now. She impresses me occasionally when she's being a [!@#$%^&*] to Olivia but other than that, I just don't feel much sympathy for the character. I guess we're supposed to feel horrible that Olivia almost tried to kill her and is actually her mother...but I just..don't. :(

I agree with you that it felt like a real breakup. And in many ways to me it really seemed like an ending for the couple. I feel it surely won't be, but then with both of them rumored to be leaving at different times, this scene makes you wonder. But man were they so good. Those scenes are right up there with many that go down as great performances in daytime history to me (i.e. Karen Wolek on the witness stand; Mac Cory during Rachel's trial; Kim Zimmer's notorious whore of Springfield, etc.)

They were just magnificent.

Oh, man, that's exactly how I felt. Even with the knowledge of their departure dates and my not having any doubts that they'll get back together, I still believed in the finality of their relationship in those scenes. They could have easily used those scenes if say, TP was leaving, and SG wasn't. That's what struck me about yesterday's show. The writing and acting was just so. good.

There is one thing I've noticed about Pelphrey/Gatschet --- they play angst better than anyone else on daytime at the moment. Those few months were Jonathan & Tammy were blissfully happy, they were as dull as dishwater. BUT --- when you yank them apart, seemingly never able to be together, they absolutely shine. Dare I say it, but they have an almost Steve/Alice (vintage AW) vibe about them. Which is kinda ironic for me since a few years back I "re-invisioned" AW, launching the series from 1968 into a parallel time with modern day soap actors playing vintage AW characters. I'd cast Gatschet as Alice.

Has GL said that neither Jon nor Tammy would be recast? I think Tammy really should be. I actually think they both should be. I know TP stands out as Jon, but I don't think he'll ever come back and GL is so low in the ratings, do they really have anything left to lose by trying?
