Members EricaKane70
I really hope the last episode lives up to the hype. The last two episodes have been mediocre and could of been much better executed. There's a theory out there that kate may be the keeper of the island and not jack(who some say will die), because I don't get the point of kate so imo this theory has some merit. I'm still pissed they killed juliet off, if she's not in the finale I'm gonna scream.
Members JackPeyton
Well since jack was supposed to die in the pilot and kate is pointless, it wouldnt surprise me il cry so much if jack dies. hes like... my tv boyfriend. im in love with him. /crazy and Julie
Administrator Toups Posted May 22, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted May 22, 2010 Thank you, Eric! That was a great read, as you know I'm a huge Giacchino fan. Acck to theories! Not reading them, skipping over posts.
Members Sylph
I think I'm going to hate pretty much every ending possible. Such as island explodes, everyone dies. Or something like that.

Members cct
Some of these I don't need to know; we just have to accept, as in life. Just as Allison Janney's character says at the beginning of her episode, "If you keep asking questions, it'll just lead to more questions." We are not going to find out what the Island or "the light" is. It just IS. Same with the no-birth rule and the numbers, although the latter are not mentioned in this article. I do think we will find out about the sideways, Jack's neck injury and other season 6 questions. After the last two episodes, which I thought were fulfilling and emotional, I am expecting the finale to suit me just fine. I have enough answers to satiate me and am looking forward to seeing how these character's stories end. I even am starting to believe I may know what the "final image" Darlton have been touting might be. This show has been probably my favorite television show of all time. It is so intriguing, at times extremely intelligent, respectful of its audience and a great balance of plot and character. Not to mention many of it's philosophical and spiritual tones seem to gibe with my own beliefs. The finale will certainly be bittersweet.
Members Sylph
I think that's kind of a cop-out. I mean?!? Watch the video with Diane Sawyer. They talk about fertility and shape-shifting into animals.
Members cct
I don't think it's a cop-out at all. I mean, the more Man pursues questions, the more questions come up. Where do storms come from? Storms always come from the west. Why do weather patterns move west to east? Well, because of earth's rotation. Why does the earth rotate in the direction it does? See how that can go on ad infinitum? And probably will as Man continues on his journey. Is it a cop-out on the part of the writers? Perhaps. But I'm actually satisfied with the Truth of "Questions beget questions." The importance of media is in the satisfaction for the audience. If a television show or movie is really great all the way up until the last scene, and then the last scene really pisses people off...then people will label the show or movie as "horrible," despite a top-notch pedigree or skilled crafting. These are what I think critics call "noble failures." Is there potential for Lost to be a "noble failure?" Most assuredly. Apparently the general public was not as appeased with the Allison Janney episode as I was. However, for me the show is still love. Correct that...flove. (Did I truly just say flove?) Members Sylph
That is a banal statement. Banal in real life and because of that — all the more banal on Lost. It really toyed and played around with difficult and important ideas. It was just a game, it turns out, because the sequence of events tells us that underneath it were shallow ideas. Writers just didn't have the 'width' to make more of it. It most certainly is because We won't answer all questions is a tune they started playing recently. Perhaps they knew it all along, and they probably did, that they won't be able to answer questions, but then it all becomes lame. No one's asking for ALL questions, that would be idiotic, but the more relevant ones, yes. Now what are relevant ones is a bit difficult to establish and sastify all. It also means that they just had to stop somewhere with all the mysteries; and they didn't. Which was wrong and instead of tightening the narrative, it became more and more bloated. So I'll wait for the finale to see what happens. I do really love, love, loves this show, but still... I'm mad.
