Revamp OLTL per ME who are the 14

Yes I do thing there is a point where they run their course. So I wonder if it wouldn't make sense instead of keeping 25 or 30 people on this huge canvas to have a couple of people working more than others. That's what was interesting about Port Charles. there were only 14 people in a contract. Everybody worked and then you went away for a while. I went away for 14 weeks the first time. Work for a year and then someone else comes in and does something. That would be interesting: "You know Dan and Heather we can't use you right now but in six months time we'd like to have you back if you're interested. We've got a great storyline for you and someone else is going to take a backseat for a little bit".

So following ME's suggestion who are the 14 who stay?

Easton said this? He can take his crocodile tears about Dan and Heather, and his suggestions based on a failed show, his last victim IMO, and shove them up his dirty looking ass.

My suggestion? OLTL should have let him walk.

does he not realize that PC was only a half hour? This [!@#$%^&*] is easy for him to say bc the ENTIRE time he was on PC he was frontburner and thats exactly the case here on OLTL

This is one of the dumbest suggestions I've ever heard.

There are so many logistical problems with this. To me, one of the biggest is the concept of family. Easton could take his vampire character and get lost for a while and it was all well and dandy but you can't have Kevin Buchanan missing for 6 months, show up for a story, go away for 6 months etc. He's a member of a core family! People can't properly invest in a character under those terms.

ME should just keep his suggestions to himself. Lord knows what will happen if this reaches Frons' ears.

I suspect Frons reads Carloyn Hinsey's column so he probably got the suggestion.

Notice how he mentions them ... but no mention of HIS domination of airtime since he arrived at OLTL. Big [!@#$%^&*]! He gets all philosphical during his six weeks off (oh my gosh! not six months?)

More than ever I am now convinced he is a grade A [!@#$%^&*]. We've seen the statistics, thanks to SON. He's the one who's on every damn day. To single out other performers is either ludicrous or arrogant. And we've also seen how practically every sweeps period that did NOT feature him (the very few) did much better than those that did.

Michael Easton = [!@#$%^&*]

ME should just keep his suggestions to himself. Lord knows what will happen if this reaches Frons' ears.

He's turning into Brian Frons with the foot and mouth disease. Though I bet even Brian's feet are at least cleaner.

Well if this statement doesn't make him look like a freakin !@#$%^&*] then I don't know what will. It's because of his freakin ass that our favorites are losing their freakin jobs...

I don't believe just because you're an hour show you have to have a big cast. Soaps would be far more interesting if they only focused on a small amount of people and filled the hours with moving plot. (ie the MNTV lineup)

and that sounds like ABC Daytime over the past few years. All their soaps focus on a small amount of people and are crap

Oh please! Spare me. One character, JOHN MCBAIN up everyone's ass in every story?

In essence I agree with what you say, but I'd rather hear it from you, a viewer, than from Michael [!@#$%^&*] Easton who's been on screen almost every single day the past 2 years. What a [!@#$%^&*] hypocrite.

Do we have a link or a reference for this text?

I'm definitely not going to praise Michael Easton, as he was one of the factors that made me end my brief viewership of OLTL in 2003. But the article read to me that he was proposing timeoff for himself as well?

but they don't move plot. They focus on a small amount of bad actors, and the episodes are mostly filler. And the plots they do have - suck. ABC Daytime as a whole is tripe. I don't think anything could salvage those horrible shows.

I only posted a part of the article. It's an interview with CH. That segment is a part of a discussion of his signing a new contract. She asks him if his new salary cost DG and HT their jobs. They then discuss the concept of a core character such as Kevin needing a rest. Considering that Kevin has been residing on the back burner for the better part of the past two years the context is rather insulting.
