Omg, I know she just lost her twins, but damn give kevin a break. Its only 30 mins into the show and I wanna smack her. An basically the cast is mom, dad, lucy, kevin, martin, hayle duff(forgot her characters name), and the twins, that sucks. I really think they should not have brought this show back.

This is typical Lucy, though....I saw it a mile away that she would blame everyone for what has happened to her over the summer.

I can't even believe that she actually asked in church, if any of the single women would find Kevin not only attractive but would they sleep with them if they could.

Martin is getting on my nerves. He didn't want to be with Sandy or even have anything to do with her when she was ready to give birth; now because she's still pining for Simon and that she wants to start her life fresh, and possibly have someone in her life, he suddenly wants her back. I've never really liked Martin to begin with.

The show just looks weird now; no Simon; no Ruthie (for now)....

I'll be in the minority. I am glad in a way that the show is still on. I remember when the show began it was only the Camden family....then shortly, Barry Watson and Jessica Beil left, with just maybe only one new member. I would like it more if Sandy wasn't in it, nor Martin. Just focus on Lucy/Kevin, and Eric/Annie; and if need be, just have the remaining former cast floating in.

Martin is annoying and thinks he's all that and a big bag of super sized chips; Sandy still seems whiny to me; but I can see already that Sandy and Lucy are going to have that rivalry thing going.

I think Simon's still in town ... just not shown. Ruthie is overseas at school. Matt's living out of state as well as Mary.

It's actually realistic that not every kid is still at home, IMO. I though the then series finale was perfect (except everyone pregnant with twins -- how stupid). It should of ended. Period.

Well, I disagree with most people in this thread. Watched my tape and the "Heaven" premiere was GREAT! Of course, when you're a fan of show, of course it's great to have the show remain on the air and not end forever. Yes, it felt a little "airy" or empty in pockets due to Simon's and Ruthie's absences, but there were honorable mentions:

Lucy was HILARIOUS during her sermonette, and was that the most scandalous thing this show has ever done, sex-wise? Because I thought her speech to the church crossed a line that "Heaven" hasn't seen before. I was impressed and even blushed because I could NOT believe they 'went there' on this show.

Also, Beverely Mitchell was a REVELATION on the premiere. Lucy's grief and anger and bitterness seemed genuine. She's an underrated performer.

I agree that the 'vets' (Eric and Annie's portrayers) seemed slightly 'off' but that's because they really had nothing to do except 'watch' the madness around them and well, talk, and um, act INCREDIBLY cheesy, but any "Heaven" fan knows this couple has always been cheesy and sappy and that's part of their appeal, lol.

Anyway, LOVED having Jewel next door. Nice touch!

And Kevin and Lucy's reconciliation of sorts at the end was great, too.

I'm so glad it's back!

    • The funeral was not onscreen - only the Brooks returning home after the service. Not aware of any available clips.
    • Very very well said!!!

I would only add that Sam Ratcliff is frequently named in regards to certain AW comedic turns.  And, we know from Carolyn Culliton (tweet 2024) that Sam & Gary put their heads together & came up with that gorilla.
    • I knew you would be so excited seeing your girl Brookey as #1!!!! She also WINS as to Frequently Married!!!
    • Yes, Stacy does this both for early DAYS & early GH. I have written some for her, for DAYS. But just one tiny point & that is that she only deals with DVDs. I realize that is not the point of your posting but it seemed the right thing to clarify. I know that you know that video tapes is past, not present.
    • Hahahha I think sleeping with almost all of your daughters's boyfriends and husbands and getting pregnant... definitely gives Brooke the right to top 1 place. Long live the whore of Beverly hills.

    • CurlyQGrl has DVDs of some episodes, that they can sell, but that doesn't matter. What is helpful: they describe the scenes on the tapes, so you can read that as recaps without ordering anything. Doesn't really give storylines, though, which is what you asked for.  Here's the links anyhow. full menu https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/menu.html GH page https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/menu.html GH 1960s https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1960s.htm
    • I would argue that Another World never played "everything" for laughs. Even when there were comedic scenes in some storylines there were other storylines that were not intended as comedy.  You give 1988 as the end point, and Mary was on the canvas from August 1986 to February 1989, so she must have overlapped with the despised laughs you are referring to at least half of the time she was there. I honestly can't recall any real comedy that Mary would have been part of. I don't think she was lighthearted about choosing between two husbands, MJ's prostitution, Kathleen's death, or even her son Scott dating her daughter Cheryl.  I would have said that the amount of comedy depended on the head writer and there was more comedy under Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin in 1984 than subsequent headwriters. I guess there was an outbreak of more comedy when Cecile kidnapped Cass from his wedding in 1986, but in general the Sin Stalker wasn't presented as funny, Mitch's return wasn't funny, John's arrival wasn't funny, Reginald wasn't funny. The tone was serious even if the plots verged on the ludicrous. And maybe that's what you mean -- but I would make a distinction between intentional comedy and storylines I can't take seriously for other reasons.
    • I'm excited for us to get back to a full weeks worth of episodes and also us beginning to move into the episodes filmed once the show premiered. We're already starting to see changes in the lighting and the way certain characters are styled. Of course we know this week we have our first recast as well. After the big Eva reveal, I hope the show continues to move into a positive direction and that we see them starting to fix some of the things we've all had issues with.
    • It seems like they may have been going in one direction for Andre and then changed their mind. He had this player/bachelor thing going at first where he was messing with Dani, seemed to be feeling Eva, and then somehow smitten by bland Ashley of all people. I feel like Ashley was supposed to be the one that finally made him want to be with someone and settle. The way he talked her up in those earlier episodes was really confusing. The wonderful, amazing nurse Ashley and conveniently she's unattainable because she has a partner, but he can't stop thinking of her and takes these busted pics of her. It was a mess. However, it all seems to have been dropped. I honestly feel like Andre can go. That may be an unpopular opinion but I don't need his breathy final syllable to be content with BTG. It's always like "There's gotta be another wh-ahyy"
