Jamie Luner coming up makes me think of my most interesting encounter with AI chat & its rather severe deficiencies in knowledge of soaps. I asked it what character & show did Susan Lucci's daughter play & it replied: Liza Colby was played by Jamie Luner. I corrected it of course. But, it blew my mind because it gave me A Liza, just not the right Liza! So, now I'll say Did Liza Huber's Gwen on PSSN have a fanbase? Did Jamie Luner as Liza Colby have a fanbase & was she accepted even though she wasn't Marcy Walker?

I know! I was so appalled when I read that. I think of Susan Lucci going her whole career with never a negative word about anyone or anything in the business & then in her memoir getting quote/unquote & letting both Frons & Pratt hang on their own petards! It couldn't happen to a more qualified duo!

Yes, I quite agree. In making their shows available to a large international market it must have been advantageous to digitize them, which put B&B ahead of the game. Of course, that gives them the leg up on being able to do a grand experiment with a well organized, even elegant, specialized channel on YouTube which already has in place the means to monetize as well as being available to an enormous international access.

Well, we have worn this sub-topic out & then some but come to a good place. I'd say Bianca definitely had a fanbase and Bianca & Reese did as well. Like you, TB & ER as Binks & Reese were my favorite Bianca pairing also. And, poor Pratt was not successful in destroying them even though he infuriated fans & actresses alike.

Well, they spent so much time making Bianca a victim or just using her as any female with respect to a story about some guy. I mean "rape the lesbian" is a trope just as much as "kill the lesbian" is. Then, saddling a young lesbian with an infant is another was of not telling a lesbian story. In the case of the AMC/OLTL crossover they even made the lesbian the victim whose child died & then later revealed to be, no, whose child was kidnapped & spirited away from her moments after birth. Even her romance with Lena was touched by victimhood as Lena was a bisexual who was using her. It's no wonder BAM remains such a popular pairing as it was remarkably free of victimhood. Can't really be a badass & someone's victim at the same time. And, before you knew what you were about they were pairing Bianca with Zoey/Zarf which just seemed forced when a more natural pairing was right in front of them, Babe & Zarf. I thought Bianca & Reese was going to be a full-on grown-up romance with family life integrated & wasn't concerned with complications from Reese's family or so much Zack as long as they stayed true to the commitment between Binks & Reese ... and there was the problem. It was fine for Reese to be tempted or conflicted as long as she chose the commitment, which she unfortunately did not. Reese & Bianca's romantic scenes were the most mature shown on daytime but that kiss with Zack just undercut what they had built. And there was no apparent intent for Bianca to find out about it & for her & Reese to work through it as a conflict. No, it was just going to be a dirty secret the audience knew.

I'm getting this error message all over in the Canadian soaps topic. Okay, maybe it was my computer. I cleared my cache & it seems gone so may be able to disregard this entirely.

As has been said AW & Texas were bigger in Canada than they were at home. In the 90s I was involved with several AW groups that were at least half made up of Canadians! From that I was also aware that Y&R was very big there. Beverlee McKinsey's best & most candid interview, also the most entertaining, is her "City Lights" interview which is Canadian. She talks quite a bit about Canada & its fans & also the laws governing how much & when US actors can work in Canada & in England & vice versa. Here is the link for the interview. Oh, yes, I should say that Beverlee unintentionally perpetuates an error that we've worked at correcting, and that is the idea that she was the first daytime artist to receive star billing. In fact, she actually was the last. No one has had it since & there were 5 instances of it before her.

The other day when I woke up & first thing read that she had passed & I thought about that day in San Francisco when Harvey Milk was assassinated & she was not only there that day but tried to save him & then held him in her arms & I've always thought that her life was forged in that crucible of those events that day. And I just keep thinking about it. And her end of life was so difficult & now she's at peace. I have always had so much admiration for her & she is such a loss to our society, but I know she needed to go. What a servant she was!! Many happy returns, Madam, and rest in power and peace. The thoughts of many go with you.

Gee now these are all things that I dearly loved about Cass's little family. And there was great acting involved. I remember being so impressed that they remained consistent with Cass's bipolar that he continued to carry a water bottle with him because the lithium he took made him thirsty & dehydrated easily. In a Locher Room AW Reunion I thought Alice said that at the time of that blasted focus group that she had actually been on the backburner, while other characters had story. That was also when they talked about Doug Watson's death. My takeaway from things she said & that Kale said were that he was a chain smoker & that as soon as he arrived he joined an exercise class & very quickly collapsed with a massive heart attack. I sorta think of May 1st as a day of unhappiness & now besides Doug's death anniversary it is Jerry verDorn's too.

It is frustrating to us as fans. But, it would involve actual digitizing & curating & they'd have to have servers so it's easy to see why just dumping things on YouTube would not allow them to cover their costs, ya know? And, the question to them is, of course, if they could make money off of it. I believe that they could. And, DAYS is an excellent example because they have all of it except one season & those early years written by Bill Bell & then by Pat Falken Smith would probably draw fans of different ages.

Well, thanks for the information. Just have to agree to disagree. To me when you set yourself up to do some major event for diversity, in this case first same sex marriage in daytime, that is when you get serious & take a break from soapy silliness where Reese would kiss Zach the night before her wedding. But his telling the actors to forget about their history & that he was going to shake things up doesn't sit well either. And then of course he completely screwed over Beth Ehlers. @lucaslesann23 Wes Ramsey is quite a good actor. The Peter character was so awful but I can't imagine anyone being able to do better with that material. Before they got done with him, he might as well have been twirling a moustache.
