DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
When DAYS did the stunt actor change with Emily going from one scene as Gwen leaving from the airport & the next adjacent scene Theresa coming into Salem airport I went looking for some other DAYS actor change stunts. This is from one Jack (Mark Valley) to the next (Steve Wilder). Next, this is from one Bo to another. Basically it is just RKK being revealed as Bo.

I believe it! Of course we could just look at her career & see why. She was that good! We were lucky to have had her.

Aha! Now I could see ED's Kelly as one Kristen but it would only be Kristen Blake 1.0 the social worker with the heavy caseload & possibly too much concern for her cases in that "heart of gold" character way.

I was flabbergasted once when this guy quit my soap forum because he said it would bother him knowing that we didn't agree about Jill Farren Phelps about one thing. Of course, if just knowing it was actually going to bother him, then, he did the right thing to quit, but, gee, there's a reason for many different ice cream flavors. We don't all like vanilla. I find variety to really be the spice of life, as that old corny saying goes.

Thanks for that info. I'm a real stick in the mud. Lane Davies IS Mason to me. Also Robin Wright IS Kelly to me. I'm not that way about other shows, recasts in general, just stubborn about Santa Barbara!! I am now hot on the trail of the Masquerade ball switch where Robert Kelker Kelly was revealed to be Bo. DAYS Anyway, the Int'l version of Gordon Thompson coming up off the floor when Terry Lester was knocked down is pretty clever.

Hey, I am not a regular poster here so if y'all have seen this, sorry, if I'm duplicating. Because of a stunt DAYS just pulled with an actor changing from one role to another in adjacent scenes, we got off onto other such stunts, ... DAYS 1 Bo to another Bo DAYS 1 Jack to another Jack And, now an Australian in my forum has made me aware of a different International version of the change from Terry Lester/Mason to Gordon Thomson/Mason ... Watch all the way through to see the second, different version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhaecIiMTkE

As has been said, now there's been three, maybe the universe will call a break. I loved seeing the "today" picture of Lara Parker!! And, I love the picture Vincent Irizarry has up on his IG acct for Suzanne Somers, what a totally wonderful dame she was.

Talia's original story could have been interesting to the max. She was a classic case of "Intimate Coercion". Upper & middle class women who are basically law-abiding citizens who are enticed into a life of crime by male romantic partners who manipulate them to the point of control. But, the way they told the story, it was just boring. And, Chanel, she took being dumped as if they'd had some grand romance. Overall, I found her to be a heap of potential where nothing was played out by the beats.

Interesting. Sometimes you go down alleys & byways that I would never think to go down. Like here, I could care less whether Tom Cruise read for Bo. The only thing I wouldn't want to think would be that Frances Reid told a whopper. My thoughts would run to, Did Tom Cruise say this? rather than did he do this. He didn't really become "SOMEBODY" until buzz hit from RISKY BUSINESS & ALL THE RIGHT MOVES. However, I have no basis to dispute your analysis from your point of view, which was whether it happened.

This is what I keep hearing! Alarr was responsible for the Ava/Harris pairing. Alarr told MM that they had no money for her. Alarr was supposedly making almost arbitrary decisions about everything about now. Have any of you listened to the IHeart podcast with PR & KA? KA revealed that Tom Cruise was up for Bo! Peter says that nearing the end it was still so competitive that 5-7 guys were screen-tested. KA had been hired but hadn't worked yet. Peter had an advantage because he'd been on ATWT for 2 years so he actually knew how to do the work. KA says the show tapes 9 episodes a week, when they actually do 8 & they are very clear that there's no way they could do more. Anyway, it is worth a listen but there's some highspots. @JAS0N47 Thanks for the info about Kate & Marlena & the actresses episode counts. Do you have any advance knowledge about Peacock & DOD2023? @j swift Thanks for the invocation. Just remember not to say "Bloody Mary" multiple times! And, whoever it was who thought the show had suddenly gotten worse ... ? Actually I think the show is watchable, interesting but there's so much afoot making fans, including me, angry!

Well, when Rauch stopped them (from brainstorming what they'd write), saying that it wasn't going to happen & everyone knew why. I thought, uh-oh, they don't realize that not everyone thinks like they do. Some people, like that writing team & like Maureen, see possibilities & you & MADD see only IMpossibility. I know they could have done it! But only if they believed that they could, which apparently was more than their leadership was prepared to take a chance on. I'm just glad that this became known. And if not for the writers in a Locher Room chat, I'd not sure it would have.

I thought Michael was pretty effective. Not just everyone has a Daddy where they can threaten some individual with getting an unwanted visit from a don! But, I really did not expect Marty to give it up so easily!!! What a coward he is. Of course, I know it's just soapy. For the story, which has now officially dragged on FAR too long, to work Marty had to cave in & verify Nina as the whistleblower! I happened to think that Marty could turn around & turn Mikey in!!! Intimidating whistleblowers is in fact a crime itself & for good reason as whistleblowers are very real targets. KRAZE!!!! Blaze must have VIP passage on the transporter. She got from Metro Court table with Maxie & Lucy to Puerto Rico/island in just a few minutes!

There were probably some great places online where fans were discussing GL then. CompuServe 1969/1979, Usenet 1980, Delphi 1981, Prodigy 1984, AOL 1985, Genie 1985 I was the Asst. Mgr. of the Delphi Soap Opera Board & we had just tons of AW/ATWT/GL fans. WOST, the SOAPnet boards, SoapCity boards, Media Domain, the notorious GL Buzz Board which I would have recommended you avoid, etc. But, whatever one finds when they go looking is just so special, when you first discover soap opera fandom online. I was a late bloomer to GL. My family was native NBC fans. But, GL just became as special to me as AW had been. I enjoyed reading your introductory post!!

Every exchange until we got to Clyde was sharp, snappy dialog. I actually forgot how much I hate Clyde's accent & the way he whines & wheedles. And I hate that he had that creep cut Tripp. Also how can he be so omnipotent when all he has is a tablet & a subscription to some news service.

Well, thank you for the additional information. I know that Pat Fili-Krushel really gets things done & fast. I'm pleased for anyone who was part of doing the right thing for Zaslow to get kudos even if it's after the fact. As for Jill, I try to keep up with anything good she does. Obvi' because her other list is so long.

You really need to knock it off. Stop dogging me. Stop following me around & saying stupid things! Enough already. I have spread NO MISINFORMATION HERE! It would be typical that an EP would sign off on casting. It would not be typical that the head of the network would be involved. Do you have some factual basis to think that Angela Shapiro was involved? If so, say so & back it up.

Since it is known what Paul Rauch said & what MADD said they have both been thoroughly excoriated verbally by fans even if by no one else. As far as how high up it went, I don't know anyone who knows. I just spoke to this thoroughly in the ABC Daytime thread. I would refer people there. I did not say what Paul said or what MADD said but if people do not know & wish to, I will. And I will favorably mention the GL Writing Team, and at ABC/OLTL Brynn Thayer & Robin Strasser. And, last, Zas did get some money out of suing P&G/GL.

I know that JFP was EP & she had to sign off on it for Zas to be able to play David Rinaldi as an ALS sufferer but I believe that kudos also go to both Brynn Thayer & definitely to Robin Strasser who worked to get a place for him by talking to people at ABC & OLTL. As far as GL goes, it wasn't CBS. It was GL & P&G. No one knows how high up it went but known individuals were specifically Paul Rauch & MADD (Mary Alice Dwyer Dobbin has the egregious infamous quote to her credit.) However, there were people at GL, like the writing staff for example, who were MORE than ready to write an ALS story for Roger & to use Holly in it, etc. And, it all went down once he had his diagnosis & approached them to write it in for his character. But one more thing, he sued them & either won or they settled with him. At any rate he did get some money out of them.

So, I guess that means you think Cyrus's conversion was genuine? I would bet not. I want Montague to do jail time & lose his license. Gladys may need to testify. Of course, that nurse can. I wonder if Michael will apologize to Ned. Of course, Ned's NEddie now so mebbe not. Does GH do fall sweeps? I'm wondering if there's any reason to hold off on revealing Nina as the whistleblower.
