I believe it was traditional on many P&G soaps to use the tapestry narrative. Different characters in different stories contribute threads. Up close it's not possible to see a pattern. But, at some point someone did an umbrella storyline. I wonder when that began.

Yes, exactly. It has been in dialogue that Natalia is Alison's Business Manager. She even spoke about how she blamed herself for being in that position & not seeing what that jacka** Linc was doing. She's also indicated that she has been so involved in the "books" that is perhaps why she didn't realize that Alison is gay. Of course, we know she couldn't have known because Ali was actively protecting her from that exact knowledge. But, Natalia is apparently going over events in the past in her mind, possibly overthinking.

I just don't know. I don't think anyone does. But this week they add so much to her plate. She's very active in her community outside the show. With her, our new Jackie, and with Eva, there's 2.

I've often said that if Ron Carlivati had been faced with the problem that Gloria Monty faced after the rape, that Ron would have immediately killed Luke & brought back Tony Geary as a new character named Myron, in a sleeveless sweater vest, and with a pocket protector filled with pens, pencils & instruments. Also he'd have read poetry to Laura. It's a kind of game I play, "What Would Ron Carlivati Do?"

This is an odd little quote that intrigued me. The tortured hero, the scheming villainess, etc. One of the biggest changes in soaps was to the view of what is feminine & what the average woman does & is like. More women with jobs, or even careers (HER STORIES 128-129). Specifically in the '60s & mid-60s Bell & Irna considered attitudes toward working women. They imagined Mary Matthews reading THE FEMININE MYSTIQUE, etc.

These are just adjustments, not cuts or adds. But, supposedly we will be seeing less of Scott, Lucy & Cyrus. Seeing more of Heather & Blaze. I personally am at least pleased that we may see less of Cyrus!!!

Oviously likes & dislikes are subjective. Although I do not agree with the very popular negative view of Eden & her character Joss, but I do know what people say they don't like about her. And I may regret asking this but I have no idea what people dislike about either Taby or about Trina. As far as the basic tradecraft goes, she is fulfilling the job of an actor & her character does fit as the younger heroine.

In general. At AW I also liked Virginia L. Brown (Can't recall if she has an e on the end.) & Cendello Or is that an a on the end? And also Tom King & I know most people do not seem to care for him & that's okay. Spelling is after me tonight!

Thinking back to liking/or not Swajeski, and earlier, Pete Lemay, I thought it might be interesting to list our favorite writers. Me, I like writers, so my list is one of 15 names! Lemay, Labine, Curlee, Swajeski, Hurst, Mulcahey, the Dobsons, Marland, Val Jean, CCulliton, Falken Smith, Bell, Nixon & Phillips Half have died; half are living. One is retired. Curlee, Swajeski, Hurst & Jerome Dobson are not writing in soaps.

I think they were going for thick & luscious, like a good terry cloth robe is.

I'm not part of Sprina Nation but I am a big fan of Taby's. I call her character a combination of a pink superhero & a fairy tale princess. To me she is one of those recasts, when a recast works SO well. And I am so glad that now the new writers are going to write for her. I mean going by this past week, compared to the 3 weeks prior & hoping that is going to continue.

In Carolyn Hinsey's book "Afternoon Delight" she says that GL found out it was canceled in March. GL got the announcement on April Fools' Day, 4-1-2009.

Well said. And, nothing against any actor but I have often said that, and this is especially true for daytime actors, something new to them is like that desirable shiny object or catnip to a cat. They spend so much time playing the same thing day in & day out that "new, different, change" etc. is very appealing to them. I think about Pete Lemay talking about watching Jill Farren Phelps sell David Forsythe, Linda Dano & Anna Holbrook on the story where John had the affair with Felicia & left Sharlene. To most fans that was totally against character, history & integrity but they were enthused.

There are a few things that are making GH really exciting for me now in a whole new way, a way that is like I used to feel about several soaps. Fingers crossed that it keeps on. It is obvious that Frank (and Varni if so & anyone else from the network) is on board with new writing & with changes to the way scenes are laid out, pacing & the lanes characters are in & movement. The new writing itself. And, Steve Burton. Whatever has done it, his life experiences or his change in philosophy that he has referred to in his podcast, etc., he is bringing more energy to his acting & its very effective. 11 days of PM/Korte & I loved all but one.
