  1. The intention with Ray was to redeem him by having him work with his anger issues. Of course this was a case of Daddy Spelling pulling the plug because he thought it made his precious daughter look like an idiot (like she needed help...) and he was promptly written out before they even got to that point.
  2. Yup. If they wanted Jan to be conveniently pregnant, they could've had Belle and Shawn try for another baby via in vitro and then have Jan steal the sperm and lie and say that she and Shawn had an affair. Still creepy as hell, but at least wouldn't involve a direct sexual assault by Jan.
  3. Yeah, the show started going into the drain by season 7 though I'm fine with thinking of it as the final season. Post-college they sort of fell into being pre-Amanda Melrose. Why they thought we'd enjoy seeing these characters struggle with their careers is beyond me. Maybe Wear This! could've been exposed as a money laundering operation or something.
  4. I thought it was odd to launch Sunset Beach at noon since you'd imagine with the demographic successes that 90210 and Melrose had it would be ideal for a late afternoon slot.
  5. I always wondered what happened to it, but I assume because both Melrose Place and Beverly Hills, 90210 were begging to suffer in the 97-98 season + Pacific Palisades being a big ole flop, they dropped the prime time idea. Such a shame it never came to pass, but I'm sure it's a lot better in my head than it would've been in reality.
  6. New clip with Lani and Eli uploaded. Surprised it got cut since they promo'd Girls5Eva.
  7. Once DAYS has decided that a couple is destined to be together they're going to end up together no matter what unfortunately. I think it's the curse of the "super couples" era.
  8. There's at least two other scenes coming per this playlist. I hope they can at least start uploading classic clips too soon. I don't hold out for full episodes though, but these cut scenes plus clips could be a nice money spinner for them. The John/Marlena scene already has 12k views and the Abby/Xander scene 7k. To be fair, I wonder if some of these scenes are specifically shot in case they run a bit short since it's much harder to go back and shoot more scenes once you start cutting the episodes. Both the John/Marlena and Abby/Xander scenes have a recap function and doesn't serve to further plots. I'd assume they feel like the Ben/Ciara scenes satisfy some female segment of the audience, at a guess.
  9. Nice, I hope they'll start uploading more cut scenes since it does seem to happen rather frequently.
  10. Yeah, I agree. I don't think viewers will really remember such a small part from a bunch of years ago. It's not as if it was a memorable role (like Kyle Lowder playing Brady, then a recast Rex, or Josh Taylor previously playing Chris Koschitek). I don't mind them re-using actors like that because no one will really think that he played some random guy years ago, the issue is when they re-use people who had memorable parts. I'd assume he'll be killed off in a few months time anyway.
  11. I guess this is the most appropriate thread for this one:
  12. I think it was meant to be the run up to the serial killer storyline. Of course, since it was all retconned to being an evuul plan masterminded by André it makes no sense why Bo and Hope would've "survived" the attack.
  13. Honestly, I don't mind them killing off Abby as such - the issue is still that I think they'll end up backtracking a few years down the line. Because ultimately, if you kill off a legacy character like Abby you can't really just sweep it under the rug - she's not your regular Serena. Her death wouldn't just end with her funeral, but would be something that echoes years and, assuming the show lasts that long, decades down the line. This is why it's so tempting for writers to bring back characters like Abby for the cheap drama during sweeps. It's an easy way to create tears and conflict and why it's hard to keep them dead. If the bozos that run daytime today had been in charge of the shows back in the 70s/80s I'm sure characters like Addie would've miraculously turned up alive at one point. I'm not as as down on Ron as some people are, but his strength does not lie in writing stories like that.
  14. Tommy would be like 90 now. I guess they could have him die and his last wish to be buried in Salem, which would bring Sandy and Marie (and any spawn they have) back for it. I guess Ron brought on Sarah though.
  15. Stefano didn't as much want Marlena as he wanted to be her. #stefanidimeraiscoming
  16. He also posted this: So yeah, I'd say the Abby spoiler is true.
  17. The biggest issue with the Superbowl hoopla was the fact that Clear Channel is involved with it and it majorly pissed them off, so she pretty much got instantly blacklisted on major radio stations. When the dust started to settle a bit there was also the age factor that was starting to creep in - quite simply no hits in a while + over 40 = radio isn't going to play you.
  18. I guess to Ron's credit he's stuck to his deaths (that weren't obviously set up as "fake" deaths like Ciara's) so far, noteably Adrienne and Laura. On the other hand, we know he didn't want to do the devil story and Corday still pushed that so if Corday has a whim everyone and anyone will be revived.
  19. If they go there... I agree. They have to start sticking to their guns, but the issue is that if the show goes on for another five years there's about zero percent chance they will, especially if Miller or Mansi suddenly needs some pocket change. So it's pretty dumb of Ron to go there, especially as one of the first thing he had to do was resurrect a legacy character that was killed off for short term thrills.
  20. I said it in the promo thread, but the set that Sarah's seen on looks like a regular set that they've attempted to look more run down, so I'm almost 100% that it'll turn out to be the Melaswen island. We should've known this when Roman made a random reference to it a few months ago.
  21. Julie shouldn't even had been in her 30s when her adult son turned up - the character should've been around 26/27; of course Susan was slightly older (32) but either way it prematurely aged her into mid/late 30s. I've always said that SORASing Mike Horton and David Banning were the first huge mistake DAYS did because it prematurely aged a lot of characters around them. Ironically, I think they realised that in Mike's case, which is probably why he was de-SORAS'd (which messed up continuity even more). Then of course, you have the Marlena problem - the fact that Marlena stepped up as the lead heroine probably kept Julie from taking the center spot again and as has been said, instead of making her and Marlena peers they made Julie seem much older than Marlena which kept pushing her into the "old" bracket while Marlena was pushed into the younger bracket with Hope et al. The difference is of course that Sami was young mother herself and Will was never drastically SORAS'd, so her being a young grandmother wasn't weird. Now if they bring on Ari as a teen sometime soon... 🤐
  22. I think the new incarnation of Fantasy Island is going in that direction - they still have guest stars each episode, but also clearly continuing plots with the staff. Of course, a lot of those are mythology based since it's more of a fantasy (duh) show, but that's what I'd do with a Hotel reboot. Keep the guest stars, but amp up the soapiness of the continuing plots with the staff. It's also interesting that the Hotel idea was the first floated spin-off idea for Dynasty - Fallon would further expand her hotel business and move out of town (with Jeff I assume). Of course, PSM left and the idea was nixed until The Colby's came around. I believe the Shapiros even sued Spelling for "stealing" the idea (I believe they settled).
  23. There's been a rumour for months now that Abby's going to get possessed... But yeah, I'd assume it's a fake out. Even Ron couldn't be this dumb, could he?
