To be fair, I think this is also a bit about the fact that people have a good idea how Missy - who is by extension Jennifer since she's played her for so long - would've played it. So the comparison will inevitable be there in people's head.

Count me in among those that like Marci. Chandler's main problem is that he's just very lazy. Rob Wilson however... ooff. I thought he was decent when he played a psycho, but the emotional scenes fall flat, but that might also have to do with my aversion to Ben in general.

Who knows if Marci even wants to act anymore? The reason they're killing her off is because she can't commit full-time, so either she wants to spend more time with her kids, or she might be looking into other career options (which isn't uncommon with actors that haven't made it big time in that age-range).

Eh, I wouldn't compare killing off Bill and Neil to killing off Abby and Laura - in the former cases we're talking about characters that had been off the canvas for decades and the most recognizable actors either stopped acting or passed on. I'm fine with them confirming what came of those characters since 80-year-old Bill Horton and Neil Curtis aren't going to drive a story and a huge point of veterans on the canvas is that we feel connected to the characters AND the actors. And DAYS has, to be fair, plenty of veterans that do get storylines. Killing off Laura was dumb because she has so many connections on the canvas and has a recognizable actress who has played her for 25+ years that clearly was willing to do the show every now and then when needed. Abby is dumb because it's short-sighted and they'll likely undo it the minute Miller or Mansi needs pocket-change.

Yeah and to be fair - what is he going to say, "yep it's 100% permanent, no take-backsies"? Bo, who by all accounts seemed dead-dead, is now appearing on Beyond Salem. If he's alive or not we'll see, but we all know that Corday has looked like an idiot before when he's claimed that death would stick this time around. He can really only say their intent when they wrote it was for it to be permanent, but obviously he can be overruled or fired and Miller/Mansi comes back.

Well, Pluto.tv uploaded ten episodes this morning instead of the normal five and since it's a national holiday here (it's the National Day of Sweden 🇸🇪) I have something to torture myself through. Finally through the dumb-ass Sareenechild plot. ETA: one thing I hate is how they arrange sometimes when people are supposed to run into a scene - instead of having them come into the scene in a natural way, you can tell that the actor is waiting behind the camera and running into the set from the sidelines - it was obvious when Chad ran into the wedding disaster and when Ciara / Ben interrupted the ritual. It's bad staging.

Of course it's a money grab. There are no similarities and songs having the same title isn't anything new - some artists even have multiple songs with the same title in their own music catalog.

Catching up (which is easy when you have the show on in the background for the weekend) I will say that the Gwen / Leo meltdown wedding was at least fun, even if the budget is silly. But the Devil really should've had some sort of death count - it became ridiculous how he'd keep shackling people up in the DiMera crypt instead of just... you know killing them? But that's the issue with writing the Devil as a "regular" villain (as Ron put it) - there's absolutely no reason why he would avoid killing off all lame Salemites. Jake at least could've been a casuality, hot as he is. Also, now that Johnny's not just playing smarmy, Carson is being revealed to be a terrible actor. Even his voice-overs were bad - I mean, I get the storyline is ridiculous but... Our streamer here (which was recently bought out by Pluto TV) is about two weeks behind the US episodes, so I'll see you there in two weeks or so.

Interesting because Sonny was also recast via Beyond Salem... is this their way of audience testing to see if audiences will accept the new actor in the role?
