Variety October 9th 1974 "As The World Turns" and "Match Game ' 74" ranked one-two with ratings of 11.4 and 10.8, respectively, followed in the top five by ABC's "All My Children" (9.4), NBC's "Days of Our Lives" (9.2) and NBC's "The Doctors" (9.1).

Variety April 17th 1974 NBC-TV's "Celebrity Sweepstakes," debuting on the daytime sked during the week of April 1-5, ranked second for the week with a 7 rating and 28 share. CBS' "Search for Tomorrow" led during the 12: 30 p.m. time period with a 7.5 and 30 share, with ABC's "Split Second" logging a 6.2 and 24 share.

Variety May 3rd 1972 Susan Sarandon to take a regular role in "Search for Tomorrow" along with Kipp Osborne. She was in the movie "Joe" and he was in Broadway's "Butterflies Are Free," as Keir Dullea's replacement . . .

Variety June 18th, 1969 "As the World Turns" with a 13.8 and "Search forTomorrow" with a 10.4, both CBS. That web's "Edge of Night" ties NBC's "Another World" with a 9.7. "Guiding Light" runs fifth with a 9.0 for CBS. CBS daytime average of 8.5 for the two-weeks' 10 a.m. through 4: 30 p.m. day part puts it 47% ahead of NBC's 5.8,

Variety Feb 21st 1968 Playwright Arthur Miller's sis, Joan Copeland. into the "Search For Tomorrow" serial cast.

Variety September 2nd 1964 William Traylor and Diane Rousseau are being imported from the U. S. to star in a new soap opera, "Moment of Truth," which will begin running on CBC-TV in the fall. James Gatward, who recently came from Britain, will direct. It seems Traylor and Rousseau were the original choices for the roles played by Wattson and King. Traylor was later on DOOL and Rousseau spent 10 years on Love of Life.

Variety Sept 9th 1965 Desilu Sales has acquired world distribution rights, except for the U.S. and Canada, to "Moment Of Truth," NBC-TV daytime stripper produced by Robert Maxwell. I wonder if they succeeded in selling to any other countries?

When Lisa returned to the show in 67 with her new blonde and glamorous look,they showed flashbacks to highlight the change.

Variety Feb 5th 1958 "Search for Tomorrow," the CBS-TV soaper, is undergoing a virtually complete personnel changover on the production side. Charles Irving, who created the soaper with Roy Winsor, has resigned as exec producer due to his commitment on the NBC-TV "Kitty Foyle" serial; Frank Dodge is replacing.

Thats Wayne Tippet as Jerry.judging by the mention of Nancy and Kate Lodge appearing,it would seem to be 61/62

This one might be a little obscure ,but for the record... Variety March 3rd 1966 Robert Lowery subs for Hal March on several segs of NBC-TV> daytimes, "Paradise Bay," in order to free March for other commitments

Variety June 1st 1966 Bertram Berman has been named producer of NBC-TV's daytime series, "The Doctors."

I think just about every major soap,save GL and EON aired in Australia at one point in the 60's,70's and into the 80's. At one point the line-up on the 9 network went for many years in the 70's went AW 11.00 -12.00, Days 1.30 - 2.30. Y& R 2.30 - 3.00,GH 3.00 -3.30 and SFT 3.30 - 4.00 Wouldn't it be great if some of those tapes were unearthed?

Variety December 14th 1955 Peggy McCay, who recently retired from starring role in CBS TV's "Love of Life" soap opera series, returns to nighttime tv this Sunday (18) night as female lead in "Appointment with Adventure."

Variety Feb 14th 1968 Conrad Nagel inked for an extended role in the CBS soap "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing" Nagel was a silent movie star who continued to perform throughout the years. I have never seen his name in cast lists for LIAMST. Did he actually join the show?

Variety Dec 22nd 1965 . . Lynnell Raye Bass, new Miss American Teenager, set for a brief stint in the ABC soap, "Never Too Young," as part of the payoff for winning the title.

Variety Oct 24th 1962 "Young Dr. Malone" is going to Australia on wings of vidtape. This dally NBC-TV program thus becomes the first American soap opera to be taken, as is, by foreign television.

Variety April 1st 1959 During six-week European holiday of writer Carl Bixby, P & G video serial, "Edge of Night" has been written by Charles S. Monroe for the Irving Vendig packaging house.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but Julie Pinson auditioned for Lily on ATWT and as a result the character of Janet was created for her.

I agree Gloria looked tres chic in that photo. Ann was a little older and the cancer had probably taken hold at that point but she really looked a lot older and less glamorous than her contemporaries.
