  1. Leticia Bradford played by Ruth Buzzi.I don't think she was royalty. Anna also fell for Prince Nicky.
  2. Great story idea Vee! Larry also married Laurel(Janice Lynde) but that went nowhere. Janice should have learned from Another World (Russ/Tracy). .Don't let your not to well received character become another wife to an aging core character. You will Die!!
  3. Danfling, As another poster stated, I believe Judge Lowell last appeared late78/early 79 as he was not seen at Dan Stewart's funeral. Granpa Hughes was married to Mrs Kopechne in July 75 and didn't that all happen offscreen? So I presume Santos Ortega was probably unwell and not up to appearing before the show expanded. I imagine the funeral was offscreen also (maybe Penny,Edith and John were mentioned as having been there) Ethel Remey/Alma was written out due to illness and replaced with Dorothy Blackburn until Alma could be written off. Ethel Remey didn't pass away till 79.
  4. Thanks Jam for the info re 'This Is My Son'. Variety reported in Oct 63 that cancellation of TD was imminent due to low ratings. Fortunately cooler heads prevailed.
  5. Hey Brolden, will you be revisiting this thread? Variety stated 2000th episode would air Friday Nov 29 1963
  6. 1963 Variety reported P&G interested in The Morleys by Vera Caspary and Lloyd Rosamund as a daytime soap. After a script is submitted they'll take it from there. Caspary was an author most famous for Laura which became a hit movie in the 40's.
  7. They need to stop the establishing shots of the Abbott and Chancellor homes. We see the exterior of these vast homes and then move into the same one room. Sharon phones Mariah from an empty Crimson Lights to apologize for not attending the christening because she had a 'staffing issue'. What? the extra who wipes the tables couldn't make it? Adam seems to wear the same suit in every scene. Nate advises Amanda to take time for herself. She'd just come back from a vacation. Wouldn't it make more sense to have Amanda and Imani go to work for Jabot,Newman,Chance.com, Hamilton/Winters than start another business that we will never see?
  8. I think from what I have read that this was not written as 'true love' story. Karen was always presented as wanting more and using Larry to get it. Usually in these types of stories there is a more suitable match for the groom somewhere along the way for the audience to root for. After the marriage Larry and Cathy Craig became involved but Cathy left town. Really Larry should have learnt not to marry women named Karen...
  9. Ruth Warrick AS THE WORLD TURNS Edith Hughes Frye (THE STRUMPET) 1956-60 Also 4 episodes in 1963 (return for Grandpa Hughes 70th birthday) Author Members Posted 17 hours ago (edited) MICHAEL CONSTANTINE Married to Julianna McCarthy at one time.
  10. May 63 Of the three soaps that debuted April 1, General Hospital had taken the lead. For the two weeks ending May 6, GH had a 17.2 share v The Doctors 15.8 and Ben Jerrod 11.3. That was the first time an ABC show had outrated an NBC show in daytime. Meanwhile CBS shows had 30 plus shares.
  11. Thanks for sharing those details. So much of past storylines and characters have not been recorded so your contributions are most valued. Please keep them coming!
  12. Let the hairstyle wars begin!! TBH, none of Rachel's hairstyles worked for me in terms of flattering her features. VW had such strong features and I wonder if there were any looks that would really work for her? Some Rachel do's over the years.
  13. Good point. More likely is that ATWT's dominance started later than previously noted. As we have found in other reporting from that era, one false statement can become regarded as fact.
  14. That would have to be Rachel's least flattering hairstyle...
  15. Another World Countess Elena DePoulignac
  16. Secret Storm Harry Orzello Father O'Keane fellow priest to Fr Mark Reddin 1973
  17. I think this story ran around the time Capiyol debuted so viewers who wanted Washington intrigue wouldn't be tempted to check out the new CBS soap.
  18. Have to disagree SORASING has been a miss for years Reed,Mattie,Charlie, etc going back to Noah and Abby. The children are SORASED too quickly and age up the parents who the writers still want to be viable as romantic leads. Then they are dropped anyway. Wait until those kids are closer to their actual age and then commit to decent actors and story. The budget situation is dire. Trying to tell stories without sets or extras/dayplayers is embarassing. This is CBS #1 daytime show and there needs to be more support!
  19. Secret Storm Fred Porcelli Maitre D' The Bird Cage (Woodbridge night club)
  20. Where The Heart Is Julie Weiner Miss Collison (nurse)
