  1. My top ten? I’d go with: 1. Sally Spectra 1.0 2. Stephanie 3. Macy 4. Taylor 5. James 6. Brooke 7. Thorne 8. Deacon 9. Sheila 1992-1998 10. Rick
  2. Just curious about I’ve started an 82-83 rewatch of both Dynasty & Falcon Crest myself how would you rank those seasons for all four shows and which was your favorite?
  3. This sounds like it is going to be May sleeps instead. And other than a couple of items, what exactly is being spoiled here in SOD? About 85% of this sounds like a recap of the month of April lol. I did wonder if it was JT myself, but I could easily see the threat being Cameron Kirsten as Linden Ashby is Susan Walters’ husband and could’ve been asked back. Plus we could get Garesis to make appearances as Grace. But that’s my own speculation. The threat could be anything.
  4. I had just seen EB was trending very high today, he’s definitely a fighter and I wish he gets well soon! https://deadline.com/2023/04/eric-braeden-cancer-diagnosis-young-and-the-restless-victor-newman-1235334118/
  5. Isn’t it? Not to mention the complete character assassination of AL’s Summer.
  6. Quite sure this warm cuddly reunion won’t last too long lol. For next week’s spoilers:
  7. Gary Tomlin? You mean Josh Griffith? Griffith was HW when Stafford was let go by JFP back in 2013. He was HW and Co-EP when the show let GT go in favor of getting Stafford back for a ratings/buzz ploy. It didn’t work, and with MS being lazy as ever Phyllis stopped getting stories and became comic relief running the Grand Phoenix. GT had made Phyllis such a vibrant character again with connections across the show’s canvas, but all that got lost with MS’ return and the character became isolated, minus a miserably failed Phick reunion in 2021. The Diane story is probably the most interesting thing MS Phyllis has done in years, but there was some blind item rumor a while back about Stafford allegedly feeling threatened by the presence of Walters and Lanier on the show. Maybe Gina as Phyllis would have been a lot more suitable for this storyline but who knows for sure. I doubt Stafford is going anywhere anytime soon, and I fully expect Phyllis to give some really, really nonsensical convoluted explanation to get Diane off the hook and for Phyllis to excuse her own choices/behavior.
  8. For a show that once proudly touted Victoria Rowell and Tonya Williams’s NACCP Image Award wins with promos, this is downright pitiful and embarrassing, even though we shouldn’t be surprised. As for today 4/17’s episode, eh Phyllis killing Jeremy was pretty underwhelming. Again where is this story going? I’m not a fan of Y&R’s “framed for a crime” storylines as they can be agonizing to watch (remember JH Adam’s last 3 months?) with no real consequences. Need to applaud Alison Lanier again, this time for her emotionally haunted and tortured Summer. And I like the vibe CF and AL have, enough for it to be a threat to MM’s Kyle. It’s too bad it’s over a phony murder mystery.
  9. Yeah I had alluded to this in my post, and you make a good point about the faster pace. What also helped for shows like Melrose, 90210, Party of Five, Sisters etc was also good mix of shorter story arcs and a lot of episodes contained at least one or two self contained episodic plots. Melrose and BH in particular had the benefit of getting picked up by cable early on at their height and then later streaming services.
  10. Interestingly Fall 1986 was when CBS cancelled Press Your Luck and turned that 4PM ET slot back to the affiliates, but it seemed like most affiliates by that point just pre-emoted the slot anyways. I’ve seen various TV schedules from the late 80’s which by then Dallas and Dynasty were kind of thrown on either Fox or Indy stations, often airing in morning timeslots or late night. And I think you’re right about Knots airing on TNT and not on TNN. I think Dallas was on TNT at one point as well before moving to TNN. I definitely remember Dallas ironically airing right after The Dukes of Hazzard in the evenings from about 1996-2000ish or so when TNN first tried to rebrand. In fact I remember TNN even replayed both the Dallas ‘96 and ‘98 TV movies. I recall Dynasty aired on either E! or Bravo or something at one point, while it seems both FC and Hotel were left sitting in the vault until SoapNet premiered.
  11. Pretty sure Dallas had some early moderate syndication success in the mid 80’s but by the late 80s not so much. Not sure about Knots but when Falcon Crest aired in syndication in 1986 for the first time it didn’t fare too well and didn’t last long. Main problem for all the soaps on broadcast syndication of course was the serialization of storylines. That said, some of the 80’s primetime soaps fared a lot better on cable. Prior to SoapNet Dallas and Knots Landing both aired on the old TNN (Nashville Network) for much of the latter part of the 90’s. The 90’s primetime soaps fared a lot better in syndication/cable than their 80’s counterparts did though. I have read that too but I recall it was mostly in international markets. Still sounds a mess.
  12. Other than seeing Graz and Alison Lanier carrying the show this week, it’s hard to watch a love fest for Phyllis with this fake funeral. It be more interesting if Stark crossed Phyllis and Jack was implicated in her “murder” instead, but so far predictable paint by the numbers show stuff.
  13. Thanks as always @YRfan23!! Glad to see Lanier and Walters atop, boo to seeing Connor Floyd so underused. I just realized but did Greg Rikaart not participate in Y&R’s 50th anniversary at all? LOL!!! We don’t need Kevin to ever appear again either.
  14. It is what it is LOL….from the Canadian day ahead spoilers:
  15. Wow. Another daytime legend lost. Hubbard was the true diva of ATWT and always lit up the screen when she was on. May she RIP, and thank you for all the years of the great Lucinda Walsh.
  16. I agree that it would be nice to see Collins as Avery again and get some closure on her bizarre exit all those years ago but when’s the last time Avery was even mentioned on the show? She barely, if she did at all, had interacted with GT Phyllis during that last year. Interesting I recall there was some plans in the mix of JG writing Avery back in the show in 2019 with Collins even visiting the set but the plans were dropped.
  17. Precisely! Phyllis has been baths!t crazy for months now, maybe some sense of sanity is coming back to her? (If that’s possible lol) And @janea4old please don’t stop either as I enjoy your posts as well. I was thinking the same thing as well regarding her endgame, unless she can spin up a good sob story. It would be interesting if Phyllis is actually playing Jeremy to drive him out of town for good but so far there hasn’t been a hint of that at all. That said, I’m highly anticipating the scenes where AL Summer confronts and decimates Phyllis for pretending to be dead. 😁 Connor Floyd is so cute and sexy it makes no sense he’s stuck at a dead end with Sharon. Sure they have a nice chemistry but this would be the third cop Sharon has been paired with. Audra should enter Chance’s orbit again to shake things up. @AMCHistory You’re right about Ordway currently being one of the weakest links on the show right now. I use to be okay with her but for the past couple years now it’s obviously become a black hole around her character.
  18. Thank you @Errol!!! When I joined SON in 2006 I had signed up with a Yahoo address I barely even use anymore lol but at one time everything was associated with it. It’s been a pain to dig stuff out of that Yahoo address.

Friday, April 14 Brooke is flattered when she is asked on a date. What Will Happen -Thomas shares his latest design for "Hope For The Future" with the team. -Brooke questions Hope about her recent odd behavior. -Steffy disagrees with Liam's concerns about Thomas.
  20. They sure would. There would also be a lot of history and tension involved as well with Nina being doubtful about Phyllis daughter dating her son, Abby being upset etc. The cherry on top would be Sally dumping both Newman bros for Chance as well. 😁 With in more recent history? In the more traditional heroine sense I’d say something along the lines of when Davetta Sherwood and Adrianne León played Lily and Colleen back in 2006-2007ish but unfortunately they didn’t last long. There was also Avery & Leslie but their characters fizzled out where as Summer is established and has staying power. In the classical sense Summer is currently more along the lines of an Ashley, Olivia, Nina type.
  21. Another superb performance by Alison Lanier indeed. As I said last month she has completely turned around a character i had use to call “Bummer” for years. In the last year AL has turned Summer into a sophisticated and fierce leading young lady. As I said before, Lanier brings a lot of warmth to the role when being romantic and sweet or motherly to Harrison, yet her sweet Summer is definitely is someone not to be crossed as AL does her best on the warpath. We’ve seen this with Sally, Phyllis, Kyle, and now Diane. If there is one thing positive about today’s Y&R is that we finally have a heroine with a razor edge again after all these years. My vote is Summer ends up dumping Kyle for Chance, although I can’t see her giving up on Harrison though.

  23. First up, Y&R: The battle for McCall Unlimited heats up as Victor schemes to acquire McCall Unlimited. However he soon realizes deception is afoot at Newman Enterprises….. Summer loses her temper with Diane, Nikki takes matters into her own hands, Jack and Victor team up to take down Stark, and Daniel plots revenge! Devon and Abby's relationship goes in an unexpected direction. Audra continues to scheme with Tucker as she makes her moves on Nate with plans to CRUSH the competition. Adam fights for his standing in the Newman Family . Michael receives a very disturbing and disquieting message! Next up is B&B: With Sheila's reign of terror over, Ridge tries to get back into the swing of his normal life. However it will not take long for Ridge to realize that things are not the same as they were before he "left"… Bill tries to repair the damage that was done during his charade with Sheila. Finn faces a life-or-death dilemma! Taylor and Brooke wonder what Ridge's return means for them. Thomas and Ridge come face to face for the first time since their estrangement, and it isn’t pretty! Hope and Liam's relationship is put to the test in a very new way! Eric and Donna's happy union faces a challenge -- by someone who thinks it's appalling that they are together!
  24. I’m pleased Shemar is making his return for a guest spot, long overdue for sure.
  25. Just to add but Knots was tied at #27 with the CBS Sunday movie for the season, making it the first time Knots beat Dallas. Falcon Crest ended up at #52. Show had a strong start but Ana Alicia’s exit and just bad writing and bad casting triggered a ratings free fall. Despite Dynasty’s more acclaimed and improved Season 9, ABC was pretty much over the show by that point and threw it on Thursday nights against Cheers. Dynasty ended the season at #64 tied with CBS’ Beauty and the Beast. Moonlighting’s final season was horrible. The miscarriage episode was disgusting and essentially ended any remaining interest. Three Saturday night shows rated in the Top #20 would be completely unheard of in today’s era.
