Wow to the news about Tanya Roberts passing, that's sad to hear. Lack of acting ability aside(see Sheena and/or A View to a Kill or that weird soft porn movie she did with the dead Hemingway sister), she did have a bit of warm charm to her and was visually stunning at her career height in the mid-80s.

Thanks to whoever added Christmas 1987 and 1988 i remember it was such a real treat when CBS reran them in the late 90s I’m really glad they made their way to the Vault finally after disappearing off YT almost a decade ago.

Seeing the scenes between Stefano and Julie in early 1982 always have fascinated me, I wonder if the show should have kept Stefano's focus on Julie, at least for the early 80s to give her some juicy story at least. (I can't imagine seeing SSH agreeing to the later Queen of the Night or levitating above her bed stuff lol) I definitely can see being entwined with Victor as she was in the early 90s had Doug & Julie stayed on in the late 80s. No idea what Doug would have done though unless they brought his son to Salem.

Interesting to hear them as I felt the two were so wasted and their story was either appearing at various parties as the token couple or being some D-plot angle in the Santos mess. David & Ruth wasn’t too bad but it also was very forgettable. Platt came on as Vicky right after Vicky’s involvement ended in the clone story right? I believe the original actress was still in the role when it was revealed she was a Spaulding, I remember her work more than I do of Platt oddly but that fall 1999-summer 2001 period I was turning out a lot. I remember David returned after Charles had a heart attack at the Bauer BBQ stressed over buying faulty medical equipment he purchased from Santos family(!) David found Vivian crying in Griffin’s arms. It was weird because they were are all barely on at the point David came back as I think Marcus & Dahlia were just about out the door...it was said Marcus randomly ran off with another woman or something.

At the very least special DVD releases should have been seriously considered. The only short run soap I could even seen succeeding in a syndication would be Sunset Beach but that has longgggg past it’s time. I remember Sci-Fi tried to rerun Passions but it flopped badly.

After Dark Shadows got its own PlutoTV channel, why not Y&R? Doesn’t need to be every episode but maybe something more like a memorable moments channel.

Lol I saw that after I found clips of it on YT, it was lousy as I remembered. One saving grace from the clips I watched was Phillip was rather repulsed when he found out that Buzz was married to Reva lol although weirdly for all the talk of how long Phillip and Reva knew each other not once did Phillip even acknowledge Reva’s return from the dead.

I remember it was Dietz’s A-M who exposed Amanda as infamous Malibu Madam and his announcement was so underwhelming. Didn’t Phillip come back for A-M & Lucy’s wedding? I remember thinking him and a lonely Rick were going to dance together at the time lol.

Wow had no idea she was pushing 70 when she took over, what a strange choice. I wonder how she felt to see her creations quickly get destroyed so fast.

Whatever happened to Laemmle in the end? Did anyone get a chance to interview her after she was fired?

It’s so weird to think that back then Paul & Nikki were the show’s C-story at the time yet they both ended up lasting more than 40 years on the show.

Still no answers what Larry & Linda’s story was though lol? Only mention I can find in my notes was “she had feelings for perpetual loser in love Greg Foster”. 🙈 Edit: Nevermind just saw @FrenchFan’s post, thanks! I suppose the Larkins faced the same fate the Laurence family did just a few years later.

Lol one example being as being a schoolteacher myself I know our school district definitely pays Disney licensing fees to show anything Disney in class unauthorized(if caught lol) can result in a bit of a hefty fine. I think Disney finally backed off schools a bit right before Covid when the CEO intervened in one case, but I’ve heard of movie companies going after assisted living & nursing home facilities too for showing movies without licensing fees. My problem with the soaps is their is no outlet for them at all. Same with a lot of shows...I mean LA Law’s all 8 seasons finally showed up on Amazon Prime yet such a legacy show was completely absent during the DVD era. Yikes

Y&R needs it own Pluto TV channel just like Dark Shadows has.
