At the very least special DVD releases should have been seriously considered. The only short run soap I could even seen succeeding in a syndication would be Sunset Beach but that has longgggg past it’s time. I remember Sci-Fi tried to rerun Passions but it flopped badly.

After Dark Shadows got its own PlutoTV channel, why not Y&R? Doesn’t need to be every episode but maybe something more like a memorable moments channel.

Lol I saw that after I found clips of it on YT, it was lousy as I remembered. One saving grace from the clips I watched was Phillip was rather repulsed when he found out that Buzz was married to Reva lol although weirdly for all the talk of how long Phillip and Reva knew each other not once did Phillip even acknowledge Reva’s return from the dead.

I remember it was Dietz’s A-M who exposed Amanda as infamous Malibu Madam and his announcement was so underwhelming. Didn’t Phillip come back for A-M & Lucy’s wedding? I remember thinking him and a lonely Rick were going to dance together at the time lol.

Wow had no idea she was pushing 70 when she took over, what a strange choice. I wonder how she felt to see her creations quickly get destroyed so fast.

Whatever happened to Laemmle in the end? Did anyone get a chance to interview her after she was fired?

It’s so weird to think that back then Paul & Nikki were the show’s C-story at the time yet they both ended up lasting more than 40 years on the show.

Still no answers what Larry & Linda’s story was though lol? Only mention I can find in my notes was “she had feelings for perpetual loser in love Greg Foster”. 🙈 Edit: Nevermind just saw @FrenchFan’s post, thanks! I suppose the Larkins faced the same fate the Laurence family did just a few years later.

Lol one example being as being a schoolteacher myself I know our school district definitely pays Disney licensing fees to show anything Disney in class unauthorized(if caught lol) can result in a bit of a hefty fine. I think Disney finally backed off schools a bit right before Covid when the CEO intervened in one case, but I’ve heard of movie companies going after assisted living & nursing home facilities too for showing movies without licensing fees. My problem with the soaps is their is no outlet for them at all. Same with a lot of shows...I mean LA Law’s all 8 seasons finally showed up on Amazon Prime yet such a legacy show was completely absent during the DVD era. Yikes

They were alright but was one of Thudley’s poor attempts to do a socially relevant and diverse storyline that he overdid and gave up on it. Also around the same time he gave us Amber having yet another miscarriage along with a painkiller addiction Story that lasted for all about May Sweeps that year if I recall right lol.

I definitely noticed that too! Y&R I know did once before back in 2003 when they showed a lengthy montage of Victor & Ashley’s history together before Ashley’s fateful car accident, someone throw in a silent clip of Victor marrying Epperson’s Ashley to which I was in total shock at the time.

Princi also later came back on Days as a Linda Anderson recast in 1984-85.

If I recall right she had a couple dayplayer roles on AW in the early 80’s but I don’t think either of the roles were substantial. I don’t think Light has but as for Brynn Thayer she actually briefly appeared as Susan on Days back in 2011 when EJ made a phone call to his mother, although I don’t think we saw her face. Thayer also did a hilarious job as a Kim Zimmer type diva actress on the web soap Life in General back in 2008 if that counts too.

Speaking of Kelly Ripa I remember when the soap press kept pushing Erin Hershey Pressley as a next big soap star but aside from guest hosting the View her other soap auditions didn’t fare well.
