  1. Baghdatis pulled out so Raonic gets a walkover to face Querrey in the QFs. I feel like Milos is sort of flying under the radar. His movement looks MUCH improved.
  2. Yep. The only possibility is that Roger sees the vast opportunities and overextends himself, like the rumors of him playing the French. Delpo is down a set to Leonardo Mayer of all people. If he doesn’t pull things around, there goes the sole person left in the draw with a track record of threatening Roger day in and day out. We will see what Hyeon Chung can do uninjured against Roger. He has the tenacious Djokovic-like game that can challenge him. But that brain fart of a second set today where Chung was up 5-0 on Cuevas and almost let the guy back into the match... not promising.
  3. You know, I never really GOT Bonnie Hunt as a kid. I never understood what was so special about her. Jeff Jarvis from TV Guide stanned for her something hard.
  4. What a sad state for ATP tennis. Almost all of the top players are injured.
  5. Oh that’s lame that he’s the Vulture recapper with such an obvious bias, but at least the readers take that into account and call him on it. He’s a “journalist” who likes to insert himself into the story. See his handling of his interview with Lee Pace.
  6. Erika Jayne fangurl and Vulture recapper Brian Moylan has tried to spin it as TEDDI’s fault. Thankfully, the commenters aren’t having it. http://www.vulture.com/2018/03/rhobh-recap-season-8-episode-13.html
  7. Kasatkina keeps snatching wigs of GS champions.
  8. Totally. And it’s certainly not a good look right now, especially when your average viewer doesn’t see the behind-the-scenes economics (and in film, the big-money investors) that influence all the decision-making. All people read is, “Female star makes less money than her male supporting actor.” Which IS sort of bonkers on the face of it. I have no idea what kind of deal they signed, though. If Netflix committed to two seasons upfront, Claire may not have had a chance to renegotiate. She certainly has come out of the show as a VERY valuable and sought-after commodity. So has Matt, but not nearly as much.
  9. I think they like anything that drives buzz and/or “conversation.” Beyond quantifiable viewership measurements, it also helps lend Netflix prestige to attract high-level talent.
  10. She (and John Lithgow) got the accolades that drew attention to the show, and he didn’t. It’s possible they had her on a contract she couldn’t renegotiate since they only signed on for a couple seasons before handing things over to Olivia Colman et al.
  11. Erika is getting rightfully roasted on Twitter tonight (even from some of her stans) due to her behavior towards Teddi.
  12. Yeah. I get it. Someone mentioned if the Queen were played by, say, Emilia Clarke, she would have earned more than Matt Smith based on her GoT fame. It’s just the way the machine works. Same with Michelle Williams. She’s Oscar bait. She doesn’t have a track record of leading blockbuster films, even ones as empty as the Transformers movies. However, Claire should have gotten a second season bump after her first season award recognition. Her fame exceeds his by leagues at the point, so she should have renegotiated for more.
  13. Venus and Serena are BATTLING.
  14. CSN knocks out Svitolina. Elina plays lights out at exhos and small events but can’t get it up when it matters. Verdasco. SMDH. He played so stupidly against Fritz. How do you beat Grigor and just flop like this against a far lesser talent?
  15. He was on Y&R a few years back as a baddie. He’s a great actor, but I think he looks a bit older than PB even though they are around the same age. If Hunt Block were a more demonstrative actor, I think he’d be perfect. Lane Davies, if he shed his current “man of the woods” look, has the right level of swagger and erudition. I think we’ll be prying Jack Abbott out of Peter Bergman’s cold dead hands in any case...
  16. I saw that. There were a lot of rumors at the time that he was “difficult,” which seem to have faded over the years. He and Matt Smith are still my favorite Doctors of the modern era.
  17. Can’t wait until Kandi snaps at Kim.
  18. Just saw the score for Halep. Wow she really turned her match around.
  19. I mean, if not for Bravo’s censors, we’d have seen everything her ob/gyn has seen.
  20. It’s sad to see Novak struggling, but I remember just three or four years ago people writing Roger off. So you never know. (Yes, I understand Roger has a less physically taxing style of play, but that didn’t change the premature verdicts on his career.) I question coming back so quickly after surgery, but I think he does need some match reps. Way to go for Yuki Bhambri beating Pouille.
  21. Oh ok. That wasn’t “heated” at all. I think Rothenberg had only seen the transcript. (EDIT: he says he heard the audio.) While I don’t think that the racialized conclusions people are jumping to are justified (typical Twitter), he was wrong and Andy Roddick was right about his “clickbait” journalism.
  22. Did they post the audio?
  23. I understand protecting copyrights. I mean, the people who own those properties deserve to be paid. It’s just sad that people aren’t going to experience part of our rich TV heritage since it’s a costly prospect to get those shows on streaming services.
  24. Ugh. Sucks that either Venus or Serena has to take the other out.
