  1. A good occasion to resurrect her dormant thread: She is confirmed for the Super Bowl halftime show. Hopefully we’ll get that long-awaited album soon.
  2. What happened to Tsitsipas? Looked like he was cruising over Frances. Just a typical meltdown, or did Frances just start redlining? Novak shouldn’t have played this glorified exho if he was having problems with his wrist. Just play a light schedule like the other vets and let the young boys exert themselves.
  3. None of it made sense or felt earned. Just a lot of plot-driven nonsense to add soapy appeal without understanding what soaps are about. It felt like he didn’t really understand his characters and therefore didn’t have a lot of confidence they would merit an audience’s attention without all the convoluted mess. Dunn needed to study Peyton Place and Knots Landing and write accordingly. But that type of approach probably wouldn’t have gotten this project greenlit. I love seeing characters we don’t usually see represented, but if it’s not backed up with the basics of good writing, or even just good entertainment, it’s all for naught. The episode that focused on the sex party for disabled queer people had a lot of beautiful moments, but it would have hit harder if we had gotten to know Marvin a bit better beforehand. It felt like Dunn was writing this for short attention spans, thought he needed to address everything NOW, and self-sabotaged.
  4. He prioritized body over face clearly.
  5. At least they’re not false advertising!

  9. Yeah, I didn’t see much chatter about this. No. 1, it aired on Peacock, which few people have. No. 2, it’s not 2001 anymore. There’s much more LGBT content out there; there’s much more content, period; better Internet and the accessibility of gay porn means that people don’t need to watch a racy show like QAF to be titillated by hot guys thrusting. Dunn bit off way more than he could chew with this. If he had tightened the canvas to just a handful of characters and really developed them as human beings, this would have been much more satisfying. Too focused on making ham-fisted statements about identity and visibility, not focused enough on creating an interesting world of people so that those statements could actually land.

  11. Terrible show. I have no desire to know what happened next to those characters. It had so much potential with the New Orleans setting, but it was completely squandered.
  12. This show continues to embarrass itself.
  13. Would love to see him with Debbi Morgan. Just trying to picture it.
  14. Waaaaaay too young for that role.
  15. James Wolk 🇺🇸 in Watchmen
  16. Alejo Ospina 🇨🇴
  17. Cool additional casting news: Christopher Eccleston, Fiona Shaw, and John Hawkes are joining:
  18. Oof. She doesn’t deserve this mess.
  19. Sad, unexpected news. If you want to read Wolf Hall, the ebook is on sale on Amazon for $2.99.
