  1. Trevante Rhodes as Mike Tyson
  2. Actually “Bad Habit” was close to being No. 1 this week, so maybe with its growth on radio, next week it’ll dethrone the waning “As It Was.” Both songs are straight outta 2000s indie pop, but I prefer “Bad Habit.”
  3. 15th week at No. 1 for Harry (in addition to having the No. 1 movie with Don’t Worry Darling). What a weak chart year. I’m sure Taylor will end Harry’s run with whatever she releases ahead of Midnights, but being a chart-watcher is sadly kind of a snooze these days.
  4. Have you seen any of these Jonathan Bennett Hallmark movies? I just can’t stomach the sickly-sweet predictable stories, but I sometimes make exceptions for the gays.
  5. Oh no doubt! It’s just funny because it’s CB’s show, and they don’t have a clue what to do with Diane these days except give her comical existential crises, à la Ally McBeal. Audra actually gets to play a badass lawyer, which Diane used to be.
  6. Still on The Good Fight (seasons 4-5 kinda went off the rails, with some good moments mixed in). S6 is somewhat of a return to form. Andre Braugher has become a good addition, even though that show likes to run a joke into the ground, and Audra McDonald is actually eclipsing Christine Baranski as the show’s MVP. (Not through any fault of CB, but again, this show doesn’t know when a joke has lost its freshness. Audra keeps going from strength to strength. What an incredible screen actress she is! Funny, sexy, strong, PISSED OFF—she does it all so well.)
  7. It’s been that way for years. Remember how much better Eileen Davidson looked on B&B. She looked so young and well-f***** while Y&R made her look like a common frump.
  8. Thara from Thailand 🇹🇭
  9. KD from Texas 🇺🇸
  10. What is this mess? And Bublik is posting it like he’s proud.
  11. A good occasion to resurrect her dormant thread: She is confirmed for the Super Bowl halftime show. Hopefully we’ll get that long-awaited album soon.
  12. What happened to Tsitsipas? Looked like he was cruising over Frances. Just a typical meltdown, or did Frances just start redlining? Novak shouldn’t have played this glorified exho if he was having problems with his wrist. Just play a light schedule like the other vets and let the young boys exert themselves.
  13. None of it made sense or felt earned. Just a lot of plot-driven nonsense to add soapy appeal without understanding what soaps are about. It felt like he didn’t really understand his characters and therefore didn’t have a lot of confidence they would merit an audience’s attention without all the convoluted mess. Dunn needed to study Peyton Place and Knots Landing and write accordingly. But that type of approach probably wouldn’t have gotten this project greenlit. I love seeing characters we don’t usually see represented, but if it’s not backed up with the basics of good writing, or even just good entertainment, it’s all for naught. The episode that focused on the sex party for disabled queer people had a lot of beautiful moments, but it would have hit harder if we had gotten to know Marvin a bit better beforehand. It felt like Dunn was writing this for short attention spans, thought he needed to address everything NOW, and self-sabotaged.
  14. He prioritized body over face clearly.
  15. At least they’re not false advertising!

  19. Yeah, I didn’t see much chatter about this. No. 1, it aired on Peacock, which few people have. No. 2, it’s not 2001 anymore. There’s much more LGBT content out there; there’s much more content, period; better Internet and the accessibility of gay porn means that people don’t need to watch a racy show like QAF to be titillated by hot guys thrusting. Dunn bit off way more than he could chew with this. If he had tightened the canvas to just a handful of characters and really developed them as human beings, this would have been much more satisfying. Too focused on making ham-fisted statements about identity and visibility, not focused enough on creating an interesting world of people so that those statements could actually land.
