  1. Apparently this is from a Feburary or March 1990 issue of TVGuide. Found it in the old google groups archive. I don't know how true it is. "Late last year, ABC's All My Children hired Dorothy Lyman lookalike Jill Larson to play Opal Gardner, a part that won Lyman 2 emmys and a ticket to prime time on NBC's Mama's Family in the early 80s. But did AMC know it could have had the real McCoy? "I absolutely would have considered it, but nobody asked," says Lyman, whose series, having gone from NBC to first run syndications was ending production right around the time AMC was recasting....[Lyman quote deleted]"
  2. Jill Larson's Opal made her debut Thanksgiving (late November) of '89. Didn't Susan Lucci host SNL once and they did a whole skit on the emmy thing?
  3. Here's some more Jane Elliot on GL uploaded on YT recently http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmcOI6H519A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mofqoa0XdME http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOdpdlEWzOw
  4. Someone has posted a month's worth of GL episodes (November, 1979). I want to say this is around when Marland started writing from the show but I'm not sure. I have to go through the credits and see.
  5. Kyle has since taken responsibility for the 'rounding out the edges' (his words) of his character, apparently.
  6. I read that Mark Frost and David Lynch disagreed on who Bob was suppose to be. Frost saw it as Bob possessing Leland, where as Lynch saw Bob as another facet/side of Leland.
  7. Yes, Here's a scene with Hillary and Jenny
  8. Dottie (1985) Hillary (1986) Dixie (3x) (1989, 1994, 1999) Brooke (1993) Krystal (2007) Cara (2011)
  9. The family aspect of GH wasn't as prevalent on GH after Marland left. I think I read somewhere that Gloria Monty didn't care for the family aspect of soaps.
  10. Julie left the show around Christmas of '89. I think Julie and Will were only cousins by adoption.
  11. Thanks for filling in the gaps. This sounds like some of what happened at the very end of that 6 hr video I posted, but I wasn't sure the character's motives or storyline.
  12. After she left AMC, in 1992.
  13. LB wasn't let go, she was still on the writing staff, but was demoted in 1989 from being the head writer of the show. She was still there until the early 90's when McTavish took over, then both she and Wisner Washam left.
  14. Not much, I'm afraid. I have some Christmas episodes from 1988 I haven't uploaded yet. And I have the Erica the movie episodes, but that's already on youtube.
  15. Someone else could probably better answer this question, but IIRC, Erica did not know Damon was behind hypnotizing Silver, only Goldie, and she had hired Damon help Silver, whom she just knew as a psychiatrist.
  16. I never got why they never tried to bring Hillary back for the Damon story. Tad getting involved with Hillary before Dixie came back would've been a good story, though I'm not sure if AMC had the time to tell it. I think Ellen and Ross/Mark would've been good heads of a family had Julie been more successful, much like how Tad kept Joe and Ruth viable. Speaking of Donna and Chuck, I watched some scenes recently on HamiltonBernique's channel with Donna blaming Chuck for their baby dying that were good. I don't know if you all know about this channel already, but they have a few episodes up from 1987 if you are looking for more from that era: http://www.youtube.com/user/ethelbean/videos
  17. Steve, Nat killing Silver is in that long 6hr video I posted. Thanks for checking out the videos.
  18. Natalie had a flashback of the rape before Silver came over the night she was accidentally killed by Natalie. Silver posed as a rapist trying to scare her. I always liked Pat, and the actress who played her. She was always so emotionally available that it was easy to sympathize whatever she was saying or doing.
