This fan fiction is both a combination of what I would want Days of our Lives to be and what most fans would want it to be. While it is true that I approve of most of the stories on the air right now, I still feel like the show could be better and more pleasurable for the fans. I have read other fan fics and I have been very impressed with some of the ideas. I only hope I can be as creative. I have been a faithful watcher since 1990 but, thanks to my grandmother taping the show every day, I have seen every episode since 1981. I have researched the history of the show before then so my stories will in no way deviate from history. However, if I make a mistake or screw up the history or something please let me know and I will edit. You will find this to be easy reading-nothing too complex. The stories will be mainly traditional and realistic but you may see a return to the supernatural at some point. You will also see many cast changes including recasts of some characters and the return and exits of some beloved ones. Some things I do may stun you and anger you but I beleive that soap writing should involve taking risks. I am open to any imput and comments and I will also provide periodic cast list updates and little news pieces to keep you informed of cast changes. I hope you enjoy. I will post a winter(2006) preview later-like the ones in SOD. This will wet your appetite enough to make you read LOL. Starting Monday December 26, I will start daily episodes picking up right where this Friday's show leaves off. On holidays when the show is prempted, I will be prempted. I will have no problem over the next month updating this every day but once my vacation is over you may not see updates until later in the evening or may just post some episodes all at once to get ahead or catch up. I look forward to your comments and input. Thanks and enjoy!!!

    "SALEM LIVES" INSIDER

    SALEM LIVES EXPLODES!!!

    Victor and Stefano: IT'S WAR!!!

Lexie (Renee Jones) becomes a innocent victim of the Victor/Stefano feud on "Salem Lives."

Two of Salem's most notorious villains find themselves at war with each other this week on Salem Lives after Victor's plot to eliminate Stefano puts his daughter's life in danger. "Lexie ends up getting the message that was meant for Stefano," recaps HW Tim Lowery. "She is looking for her father and ends up at the warehouse, unaware the note is fake and the warehouse is rigged to explode. Stefano ends up hearing about the note and arrives at the warehouse worried about Lexie. Nicole is there looking for Eric and both of them smell gas and hear a whistling sound. Then it's...BAM!!! The warehouse blows to pieces and Stefano and Nicole both worry about Lexie and Eric being in the building." Eric is not anywhere near the building (see story below) but Lexie was indeed in the warehouse and is now missing. "The police arrive and so do Roman and Cal (Faux Roman)," reveals Lowery. "A search for Lexie is underway but it soon seems to be becoming a recovery operation as it appears no one could've survived that blast." Is Lexie really dead? "Well, Abe and Celeste arrive there and Celeste just feels a part of her missing. It is a very emotional scene. Abe breaks down and and admits he still loves Lexie and then you have Nicole worried Eric may be in the debris. Plus, Stefano is running around desperate to find Lexie and he will lock horns with Roman, Cal, and Abe and the people of Salem as they all learn he is back in town this week," previews Lowery. "As for Lexie, the fans will just have to watch since this is just the beginning." It is just the beginning indeed as, by week's end, Stefano learns Victor was responsible for the blast and declares war on him and his family. "Things have gotten very personal and now it's time to get down and dirty. People will be choosing sides left and right and many innocent lives will be in danger. This war is huge for the whole canvas and that is not an exaggeration," cautions Lowery

    Sami's BIG Sacrifice

Sami (Alison Sweeney) makes a stunning choice on "Salem Lives."

Sami does the unthinkable this week on Salem Lives when she chooses her sister over being with the man of her dreams. "Carrie escapes Alan and the cabin and calls Salem," recaps HW Tim Lowery. "Sami picks up and Carrie tells her where she is but Alan shows up and then...click...there goes the call. We then get a typical Sami moment where she actually thinks about whether or not to tell Austin and Lucas. Afterall, both men love Carrie more than her as it seems so Carrie being gone will service her nicely." Austin and Lucas catch Sami on the phone and ask her who she is talking with. Sami is at a loss for words and must decide to either take the selfless route and help Carrie or pull a typical Sami stunt that may cause further harm to her sister. She chooses the former. "It is a moment of real growth for Sami, something we are striving to do," says Lowery. "We had a few moments of growth over the summer and this is another one." Sami, Austin, and Lucas race to the area Carrie told Sami about with Kate in toll. However, things take an unexpected turn once they arrive. "Something big happens with Carrie and Alan and when Sami and the others arrive...let's just say things don't go in the direction people would think," hints Lowery.

Cassie to Chelsea: I OWN YOU!!!

Cassie (Alexis Thorpe) has herself a new foe on "Salem Lives."

A new rivalry begins in Salem this week on Salem Lives when Cassie learns that Hope is Chelsea's real mother. "Cassie just overhears Chelsea talking to herself and confronts Chelsea," previews HW Tim Lowery. "Cassie just tortures her with the fact that she can tell anyone at any time." Things get worse for Chelsea when she runs into Abby and Max at Salem Place and catches them in a close moment. "Cassie really digs into Chelsea about that too so Chelsea is falling apart by that point," reveals Lowery. Max then tells Chelsea they need to talk and breaks things off with her. "It is a little sad but she had been pushing him away so she blames herself," adds Lowery. Chelsea then sees Abby and Max walk off together and the bond is evident. "If it wasn't evident to Chelsea before, Cassie makes it very evident," laughs Lowery. "She just lays in on Chelsea real thick that she lost her boyfriend to her best friend and that she is worthless and so on." Cassie then takes it one step further when she says that no one wants a slut like Chelsea around. "Cassie even says that the reason why Chelsea won't tell Hope she is her daughter is because she is afraid Hope won't want a slutty daughter," comments Lowery. Chelsea and Cassie go at it and then are interupted when Cassie gets a phone call and must leave. Chelsea then goes home where things take another bad turn. "Chelsea sees Bo and Hope about to call it quits for good and she begins to wonder why she is even trying to be good. There is also the matter of Billie, who is on her case about her hiding something. Everything is just going so wrong for her and that isn't even the worst of it," hints Lowery. Yep, that's right-the worse is yet to come. "Chelsea will take yet another hit by week's end that will make Cassie and everything else look like school-age problems," reveals Lowery.

    Horton's To The Rescue!!!

Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) goes off the deep end on "Salem Lives."

The Horton's band together to help Maggie this week on Salem Lives not realizing how lost she truly is. "Doug, Julie, and Laura arrive at Maggie's house just as Maggie has succumbed to her alcohol temptation," previews HW Tim Lowery. Maggie creates a cover story and hides the booze while Julie and Laura try to convince her to let them help her through this. "They give her the traditional don't push us away speech and all Maggie is focused on is the vodka," says Lowery. Things take a rough turn when Maggie learns that Laura is there to examine her mental health. "Maggie just loses it and kicks them all out," says Lowery. "Now she goes from just wanting to have a few drinks to downing the whole bottle. The self-control is now gone as she feels betrayed and alone and the guilt, pain, and heartbreak over Mickey's death is eating at her," explains Lowery. By week's end, Maggie has lost total control and the Horton's are worried sick when Maggie doesn't answer their calls. Alice, Doug, Julie, and Laura realize she may be in more trouble then they realize and even being to wonder if she has fallen off the wagon. "They have no evidence of it but the idea comes up," says Lowery. This prompts the Horton's to take action...and to call in reinforcements.

    Greta Learns Eric's Secret!!!

Greta (Julianne Morris) makes a stunning discovery on "Salem Lives."

The cat is out of the bag for Eric this week on Salem Lives when Greta learns the secret he has been keeping since returning to Salem. "Eric and Greta are arguing over his secret and he collapses in Greta's arms," reveals HW Tim Lowery. "She calls an ambulance and he ends up in the ER." Eventually, the doctor's come out but they won't tell Greta anything. "Eric makes them promise not to tell anyone anything and to make sure no one but Greta knows he is there," says Lowery. Greta takes matters into her own hands and find out his secret on her own. "She plays detective and is shocked by what she finds out," previews Lowery. "The secret is a real doozy."

    STEVE IS ALIVE!!!

Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) gets life-altering news on "Salem Lives."

Kayla gets shocking news this week on Salem Lives when she learns her husband, Steve "Patch" Johnson, isn't dead afterall. "Patrick had been hinting at a big secret for weeks," recaps HW Tim Lowery. "Kayla finally got in to see him in prison but he wanted to bargain for his freedom so Kayla enlists the help of a guard to trick Patrick into telling her what he knows and he does." Patrick tells her how Steve is alive, where he has been, how he knows, etc and even tells Kayla he knows where he is. "He gives her everything but there is no visual proof," cautions Lowery. "It is just his word." Kayla remembers that Shane was investigating Steve's death and wonders if he did that because he knew of something fishy. "Between what Patrick told her and Shane investigating the death, Kayla is totally convinced and is ready to go find her husband," reveals Lowery. By week's end, Kayla makes a stunning decision prior to leaving to find Steve. "She does something that will not onle put her in danger but others in danger as well," warns Lowery.

    Comings and Goings

    Who's Coming?

Stephen Nichols (Steve "Patch" Johnson): The popular actor is returning this Fall. See the Casting News in the blog entry below this one for more.

Thaoo Penghlis (Tony/Andre Dimera): Penghlis, who has been on recurring, is no longer with the show. Insiders say the plans to have a "search for Tony" have been put on hold until early next year. The character of Andre will not be making anymore further appearances. as he was believed to have died on July 24, so don't expect Penghlis to be around anytime soon.

Patsy Pease (Kimberly Brady) and Charles Shaughnessy (Shane Donovan): Shaughnessy, who returned in June, will remain on recurring at this time. Jensen Ackles and Arianne Zuker (Eric Brady and Nicole Walker): Both actors, who made short term returns in May, will remain with the show at least through the end of the year. Some insiders hint that Zuker will stay put on the show as it is said TPTB want her to sign a long term deal but there is no confirmation yet.

Josh Taylor (Faux Roman/Cal Winters): Despite the revelation that his character was not the real Roman Brady, Taylor will be staying with the show for the forseeable future. Expect to dive further into the character's past as the Fall progresses.

    Status Change

Tanya Boyd (Celeste Perrault): As previously reported, Boyd was downgraded to recurring once again after plans for her front burner story were put on hold for the time being. Expect Boyd to still be a prominent fixture on the show.

Billy Warlock (Frankie Brady): As previously reported, Warlock has been downgraded to recurring as there are no immediate frontburner story plans for Frankie.

SALEM LIVES' BO, HOPE, AND CHELSEA: SHATTERED!!!

The Brady family falls apart from all ends this week on Salem Lives when Bo and Hope call it quits and Chelsea once again finds herself in more trouble. The week begins with Bo and Hope still at odds over Chelsea's rape and the current state of their marriage. "They have major trust issues and we are trying to drive that home," says HW Tim Lowery. "Hope believed far too easily that Bo jumped in bed with Billie when he didn't and Hope kept Chelsea's rape from Bo and he sees that as something far too important to withhold. Plus, this allowed the evidence trail to get cold and Bo has nothing on the rapists. Hope stopped him from taking justice into his own hands so he is furious with her and is treating her how she treated him when he wanted to talk." While those two argue, the source of all the problems between them finds herself in another pickle. "Chelsea's rapists kidnap her," reveals Lowery. "Maggie is in Chez Rouge getting more liquor and hears something. She is just too drunk to do anything." Chelsea is then taken away after Maggie fails to see her and tragedy strikes yet again. "They practically torture her," says Lowery. "They call her slut and dirty and say she wanted what they gave her. It is really demented but we are trying to do something powerful here." The scene then goes black before we see what happens. The next day, everyone gathers for Chelsea's hearing. "Most of the Brady's and Horton's are there and this sets the stage for fireworks," previews Lowery. "Everyone knows Chelsea isn't going to prison but they gather anyway to get some closure to Zach's death and everyone is vulnerable and on edge. Shawn announces his intentions to leave town causing more strife for Bo and Hope and Victor is at odds with Caroline and Roman...everything is a mess," notes Lowery. Things get worse when Chelsea is missing from the hearing. "She is nowhere to be found so Bo, Roman, Billie, Hope, Max, and Victor go look for her," previews Lowery. "Victor finds her (and also something...or someone...else) and then things take several frightening turns and, by week's end, when the dust finally settles, you have Bo and Hope saying it's over and Bo and Victor turning their back on the Brady's. As for why all this happens, you will just have see how it unfolds," teases Lowery. "I will say one thing...it will be very powerful and will send so many of the characters-especially Victor, Caroline, Bo, Hope, and Chelsea-into shocking directions that will leave the fans gasping."

Salem Lives' Carrie: The search is over

The search for Carrie ends this week on Salem Lives but it is not a happy ending. The week begins with Roman announcing to Austin, Lucas, Sami, Cal, and Kate that the blood on the jacket was Carrie's. "They are all stunned but still have hope," previews HW Tim Lowery. The hope quickly goes away when more forensic's reports reveal that the blond hairs on the jacket match Carrie's. "Lucas just loses it and says he is going to go find her since she has to be alright," says Lowery. "Sami goes after him to comfort him on instinct and there is a very emotional scene there." Meanwhile, things then take a confusing turn when the rest of the blood is revealed not to be Carrie's but Alan Harris's. "Roman is stunned and he shares this news with everyone but Sami," notes Lowery. "They all decide not to tell Sami and even make Kate promise not to as they can't understand what is going on." Meanwhile, from the shadows, Carrie sees her family. "She wants to reveal herself, especially now that it seems the danger from the island plot is over, but she needs to take care of Alan and she overhears Roman telling Austin he would kill him if he was anywhere near his daughters," previews Lowery. "She has finally been convinced Alan is a changed man and he took care of her so she needs to take care of him. Plus, Carrie is reminded of the fact that she has no idea who the father of her child is and part of her does not want to face that." By week's end, someone discovers Carrie with Alan and then Carrie makes a stunning decision that is very unlike her, which leads to the search for Carrie finally being called off. "It is very shocking and sad at the same time but it will take all these characters in a new and exciting direction," promises Lowery.

    Who's Coming ?/Who's Going?

    Coming

Charles Shaughnessy (Shane Donovan): After a short break from Salem, Shaughnessy returns as the popular ISA agent on September 11.

Pryor has also appeared on Passions in the 9/1 and 9/4 episodes while Beemer has appeared on GH in a minor role. (FYI: I know he is nuShawn but I thought it would be fun to use him here) . Both actors are recurring.

    CASTING CALL!!!

A casting call has gone out for the role of a new female psychiatrist at University Hospital. The character is very professional, driven, and has never found love. She is constantly putting her profession before romance. The show is looking for a experienced actress in her mid 40's-upper 50's. The role was originally going to be portrayed by a former female star but it was decided to go in a new direction. Please post any suggestions here in the blog.

VICTOR AND BO: LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON?

Victor (John Aniston) thinks he has a partner in his son, Bo (Peter Reckell).

Bo's downward spiral takes him in a shocking direction this week on Salem Lives when he turns to his biological father, Victor. The week begins with Bo drowning his sorrows at the Cheatin Heart. "Bo is coming off bascially turning his back on his loved ones and calling it quits with Hope," previews HW Tim Lowery. "He is not in a good place but we start to see him wonder if he did the right thing and if he should make things right." Things change when Victor, who is looking for Bo, approaches him and they have a long talk. "Victor reiterates to Bo that he agrees with the actions Bo thinks is necessary to protect those he loves," says Lowery. "Victor tells Bo that the police and the current system have always had it wrong in that innocent people get punished while the guilty go free to hurt again and that is what happened with Chelsea and many of their loved ones." Victor leaves Bo with an open invitation to join his fight against Stefano and his enemies and to take action with guranteed results. "Bo is left wondering if Victor has it right and his ways are more effective. You may have to push loved ones away but if it protects them then you have to do it," notes Lowery. Bo does some soul searching and, by week's end, ends up on Victor's doorstep. "He asks Victor what he has to do and how far they need to go," previews Lowery. "Victor just tells him as far as they need to in order to protect the people they love." The question is...can Bo commit to this? "The fans will just have to wait and see," teases Lowery. "The war is just beginning and the dividing lines are just being drawn. The real drama is still yet to come," promises Lowery.

SALEM LIVES STUNNER: SAMI COMES CLEAN!!!

Sami (Alison Sweeney) learns a secret...and admits her own!!!

Sami makes yet another surprising decision this week on Salem Lives when she admits her scheme to break up Carrie and Austin. The week begins with everyone reacting to Shane's reading of Carrie's letter. "For starters, no one is really buying what was in the letter," says HW Tim Lowery. "Roman, Austin, Lucas, and even Sami question it." Austin and Lucas then think about the island and all the bad things happening in Salem of late. "They start to think that it may make sense and that Carrie may be afraid to raise a child in Salem with the Dimera's around and so on," notes Lowery. During all this, Austin goes off on his own and just starts lashing out about missing Carrie and what could be his child. Austin is unaware that Sami hears everything from Austin admitting his love for Carrie to Austin's belief that Carrie's child is his. "Sami feels burned but also isn't surprised," says Lowery. "She has been wondering of late whether she should start anew romantically away from Lucas and Austin because they both love Carrie and now this happens. She had suspicions here and there but now it's a reality she must face." After hearing Austin, Sami realizes the real reason Carrie left is because she didn't know who the baby's father was and didn't want to destroy The Roberts/Reed family and all their lives. "It's typical Carrie as Sami realizes and Sami just starts thinking about why she has wasted all these years going after Austin and Lucas, both of whom have Carrie on a pedestal," previews Lowery. "She returns home to Will and he mentions how he always hoped one day their family would be stabile and he would have somewhat of a normal life. Sami realizes her problems with relationships are a main contributer to that." By week's end, Sami has collected her thoughts and decides yet again to do something that is very unlike her. "She chose to tell everyone about Carrie a few week's ago, which was a change, and now this," notes Lowery. "She calls everyone in and tells them about the lie Lexie and her collaborated on to break up Austin and Carrie. What happens after that is just pure drama and hell for Sami," laughs Lowery.

-Victor visits Caroline at the pub. He says he noticed the light on still and wanted to check on her. She tells him to leave and that she wants to be alone. Victor says that he is here for her and tells her not to blame herself for what has happened. She says she doesn’t but she blames Tony for keeping her from Shawn for so long and putting her in a situation to betray him. She says that she is too blame for letting passion get the best of her and succumbing to Victor. Victor says he should have stopped it. Caroline wants Victor to go. She can’t talk about this right now and wants to just be alone to grieve for her husband. Victor agrees to go and says that he will call her sometime to check in. Caroline then goes behind the bar and cries, feeling guilty about her infidelity and wondering who she will get by without her husband.

-Victor bumps into Kate. She is an emotional wreck and Victor is shocked when Kate says she finally understand how horrible of a mother she is. She interfered when she should have just let her children live. She got away with it for years but now she has finally realized what she has done. Victor comforts her and tells her that sometimes you need to make your own mistakes to learn and that is what Kate’s kids must do and what she must do. She needs to learn from the mistakes she has made and never make them again. Kate says she doesn’t even know who she is. She always thought of herself as a good mother. That was her identity but now she realizes she never was that. She doesn’t have a man in her life and her family is in ruins. She has nothing and doesn’t know who or what she is or where to go from here. Victor thinks Kate should be home and not alone in her state but Kate says Billie went out and that she was going to stay with her tonight to make sure she was alright. She got a message from Bo to meet her at the hospital. Victor tells Kate she can stay with him tonight. Despite everything, he still cares for her and she is the mother of his son. They are about to get into Victor’s limo when they see a passed out, drunk Phillip near a dumpster in an alley. They go over and wake him. They beg him to come home with them but Phillip lashes out at them saying how they were lousy parents, how there breakup and the circumstances surrounding it hurt him, and how their deception about Claire and Kate’s interference in his life screwed him up. He is also hurt because everyone seemed to know about Belle and Shawn being together in his absence but him. He tears into both of them and really lays on to Kate about how her interference in her children’s lives makes things worse. He was hurt when he lost Chloe and she pushed him to land Belle. He didn’t want to force anything because he had already been hurt but she forced the issue and if it weren’t for her maybe none of this would have happened. Kate and Victor try to help and comfort him but he just keeps trashing them, especially Kate. He runs away from them as Kate breaks down in Victor’s arms saying her children are a mess, especially Phillip, and she did all this. Victor tries to calm her but Kate ignores him and pushes away from him and runs off as Victor worries about what she or Phillip might do.

Lucas arrives at Maggie’s house. She doesn’t answer so he uses his key to get in. He finds Maggie in the kitchen crying with a picture of Mickey in her hands. She is still blaming herself for sending him out with Shawn Sr but Lucas tries to convince her otherwise. She blames Tony too for taking so much time from Mickey and her. Lucas comforts her but Maggie says that she will feel guilty for the rest of her life and doesn’t know how she will live with the pain of knowing she sent Mickey to his death. Lucas tries to comfort her but she then pulls out a bottle of whiskey saying that it would be ironic if she drank herself to death citing how the SSK whacked her with a whiskey bottle. She says Mickey got it from Shawn Sr and kept it hidden from her due to her alcohol condition. He kept it here for when Doug and Julie came over or anyone else. She says that she has never been so tempted to just drown her sorrows away and not stop until she killed herself. Lucas warns her against that and says he is there for her just like she was always there when he fell off the wagon or was thinking about it. She says that she doesn’t care about anything anymore. Lucas then brings up how he feels. He feels lonely and like an outsider. Phillip hates him because he kept Belle and Shawn’s relationship from him, Austin is juggling both Sami and Carrie and neither of them even thinks about comforting him over what has happened, the rest of his family is a mess, he hates his mother, Will is MIA and doesn’t know when he is coming back, and he has nothing. His uncle Mickey is even dead and he feels tempted to drink too but knows that Maggie herself would be against that but right now she is so upset that she doesn’t know what she is saying. He says that Mickey would not want her or him to stop being sober. Maggie agrees and puts the bottle away. She tells Lucas thank you for saving her from herself as Lucas says that she has done the same for him many times. That reminisce about Mickey and he agrees to help with the funeral arrangements. She then tells Lucas she wants to be alone and promises that she will call if the temptation is too great again. He says he will do the same and leaves as Maggie takes the bottle back out again and places it at the table. She pours some into a cup and, as her hand shakes and as tears stream down her face, she tries to resist drinking it. She then throws the glass against the wall, along with the bottle, and breaks down crying on the floor again saying it was all her fault and she don’t know if she can go on.

-Everyone is relieved when the doctor comes out and says that Mimi is calm now. Bonnie goes in to be with her and comforts her about Patrick. Shawn lets Belle have it for upsetting Mimi twice tonight. Belle apologizes as Shawn warns her to be more careful until Mimi is better. He goes in and comforts her, which makes Belle jealous. Mimi and Bonnie both hope that Patrick is alive but Roman thinks its impossible that he and Chelsea are. He believes that remains will be found at the scene. Bonnie and Roman leave and promise to keep everyone posted if there is any news. While alone, Bonnie is comforted by Roman again. She continues to blame Chelsea and her recklessness and involvement with Patrick and says she knows its his niece but that she is glad if that witch is dead. She just hates that her son had to go too. Roman holds her but then Bonnie tries to get Roman to let his feelings out about his father and everything that happened. Roman goes off on Bonnie again and reminds Bonnie that he is fine and doesn’t want to talk about. He told her if she pushed this again to leave him alone and she did just that. She forces the issue again and Roman tells her to get away from him and leave him alone. Bonnie tires to reach out to him but he just walks away as Bonnie cries against a wall saying how much she wants to help him like he did her because she cares about him. Belle wishes Mimi well and goes to be with Claire. She continues to hope and pray for a miracle for Claire and for a future with Shawn. The doctor tells Mimi he won’t have the test results until morning and that she needs to be left alone to rest. He emphasizes no stress until further notice. Shawn kisses her and says he will be back in the morning. He leaves as Mimi worries again about losing him to Belle and starts having pains again, wondering what will happen and what is wrong with her.

-Hope can’t believe JT is at Salem University Hospital. She asks the nurse what is going on. The nurse says that JT’s and his parents were driving back to Salem to surprise some people with a visit. Hope realizes it must have been the Reiber’s driving to Salem to visit them. They were involved in the pileup. Their car hit another one’s in the melee and flipped over. The impact killed JT’s parents and JT sustained head trauma from being thrown by the impact and his body went into shock following the accident. This caused heart damage due to too much trauma and stress on the heart. All the repair to JT’s heart during his operations when he was younger were ruined in the accident and now they think some of JT’s other organs could shut down too. They say he may need a new heart and may also be brain dead. Hope breaks down in Bo’s arms. They go over to JT and hold his hand and beg him to hang on there. He was always there son and always will be and they need him to pull through. Hope tells Bo that JT is an orphan now. Bo says that Glen probably had relatives to take JT should something happen but says that they shouldn’t worry about that right now. JT needs to get better and they will be there for him. Shawn arrives and leanrs what happened and sits by his mom and JT saying that his little brother has to make it. He will always be his brother too. Billie arrives and Bo leaves the room quietly without Hope noticing. He fills her in on everything, including JT and Chelsea and Patrick. Billie screams “NO!!!” and breaks down in Bo’s arms. Hope hears this and comes out with Shawn. Bo tells her that Chelsea’s car started the car pileup as Billie is stunned and thinks that there must be some explanation for Chelsea’s speeding. Hope then explodes with anger and says there is. Its because her parents and grandmother were soft and let Chelsea get away with everything. Bo tries to calm her but she lets Billie have it saying that Chelsea’s behavior and the lack of tough parenting is what caused this and what destroyed many lives and killed many. She tells Bo and Billie to look at JT and what their daughter’s actions did. It was reckless and should have never happened. Shawn agrees. Billie once again points out Hope’s mistakes with Shawn but Shawn points out that he made those decisions as an adult. Chelsea was not mature enough to make those decisions. Bo then blames Hope for pushing the trip on Chelsea and Patrick but Billie admits to that too but notes that Hope was the final catalyst to make it a go. Bo and Billie try to defend Chelsea as Billie refuses to believe Patrick and her are dead. Bo hopes she is right but warns Billie if she is alive then she will have to deal with a lot of trouble from everyone, including the police. Hope says that if Chelsea is alive she will have to answer to her and so many others as Billie insists she doesn’t care what Hope or anyone else says. Bo. Kate, and her may have made mistakes but their daughter had it tough growing up and she is not responsible for everything that happened. She was reckless but her actions did not cause everything to happen. It was all meant to be and it just so happened that other people unfortunately got involved. She insists that her daughter is still alive, along with Patrick, and says she is going to the scene to find them so that they can find out the real story. She runs off as Hope notices Bo itching to go after her. Hope tells him to go but if he finds Chelsea she will be punished and will face the consequences this time. Bo understands but says that they need to find out everything first as Hope says she already knows everything. She knows that no matter what Bo is gonna defend Billie and Chelsea’s actions and the hell with everyone else. Hope says that she will be punished for what she did to everyone who is hurt and suffering and can’t believe how Bo is dealing this since his own “father” died in this and the boy he thought of as a son is fighting for his life with his real parents dead. Bo just looks at Hope and takes off after Billie. Shawn tells Hope he can’t believe who dad is defending her as Hope says she can and that if Chelsea is found alive that is when the real trouble will start and she doesn’t know what her or anyone else will do to her or whether Bo and her will be able to get past this. They both go in to be with JT as the screen fades to black.

    On the next Days...
Mimi gets her test results. Bo and Billie search for Chelsea and Patrick. Jack and Greta leave town. Hope stays vigil at JT’s bedside. Maggie begins to lose it and prepares to take a drink as Mickey’s funeral preparations are made. Lexie gets a shock when she returns home.

    JANUARY 10, 2008-EPISODE #412: HELPLESS PART II

    UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Hope and Maggie arrive. As Maggie tells her she is going to find Victor, Hope sees Bo with Caroline. As she begins to walk over, Bo sees her as well.......and then turns and walks away with Caroline. Marlena then comes around the corner, long enough to see Hope crying once again. As Marlena asks Hope what’s wrong, they sit down and Hope tells her everything that she did. Marlena tells her it will ok and as she hugs her.........

The Brady's are in front of Frankie’s window. Caroline asks if there has been any change and Mike says he’s still the same. Abby asks when he might wake up and Lexie can’t give any answer. Abby then says she talked to Stephanie and was told Kayla and the baby are stable. When Caroline asks about Roman, Bo says it doesn’t look good for either him or Lucas.

Inside Frankie’s room, Max tells him to get better so they can have poker night again and Abby tells Jennifer to watch over him. She also reminds Frankie that he promised her mom he would be there for her and J.J. so he has to wake up.

Jack then arrives and stands behind Abby, asking if Frankie has improved. She says no. Billie then walks up and Jack tells the Brady's how sorry he is. Abby then suggests that Jack and Billie go in and see him. He would like to know his friends are there. Jack looks at Billie, who says it’s ok, and they both go in. Once in his room, Jack has to hold a crying Billie as they both look at him.......laying there, helpless.

In Greta’s room, she insists on seeing Frankie. Victor says she’s not strong enough but Greta tells him that she wants to say to him what she should have said all along. She wants to tell him how she feels because she believes he saved her life that night. As Maggie fights back tears, Victor tells Greta that she isn’t going anywhere until she is stronger. Greta tells him that he doesn’t understand and if it were Maggie laying in a hospital room and he had a chance to say something to her.......would he pass it up?

Victor gets a wheelchair and tells Greta’s nurse that he will accept full responsibility for her.

Outside Frankie’s room once again, Hope and Marlena walk up to the family. Bo turns and gives Hope another cold look, making Caroline and Kimberly uneasy. Marlena sees this and suggests that her and Hope go and see Kayla. Bo says that is a good idea and, as the women walk off, Hope turns and looks at Bo, who has turned his back to her.

In Kayla’s room, Steve wipes his face as she starts to wake up. She looks at him, asking what is he doing there. He just says he’s happy she’s awake. She turns her head back, saying he shouldn’t be there. She says she needs to stay calm and he says that is what he’s there for. Kayla ask if he was there for Hope when he slept with her and produced Chelsea.

Steve says that he has no feelings for Hope and Kalya says he has a funny way of showing it. She then says he needs to leave. She has to stay calm and he’s not helping. Steve says he is not leaving until he knows she’s ok and Kayla’s monitors start going off. Her blood pressure starts shooting up and she grabs her stomach. As doctors and nurses rush in, Rich tells Steve he has to leave.......now.

Steve reluctantly walks out and joins Hope and Marlena, who have arrived, right before Kayla passes out from the pain.

Stephanie walks out into the hallway and sees Steve and Hope standing. She is appalled, saying that they can’t even keep their hands off of each other while her mother is fighting for her life. Marlena and Adrienne watch as Steve tells Stephanie to watch her tone. Stephanie walks up to Steve and Hope and tells them both......

    Stephanie: Watch This!!

She then hauls off and slaps Hope hard, making her take a step back. Hope holds her face and looks at her in shock as Adrienne takes two big steps over, grabs Stephanie by the arm, and tells her in no uncertain terms that no matter how pissed off or scared she is, that will NEVER give her the right to behave like that.

Stephanie says how sorry she is to everyone and then runs off, crying. Adrienne chases after her as Hope starts crying once again in Marlena’s arms. Rich come out, telling everyone that they are trying to bring down Kayla’s blood pressure for her and the baby’s sake. If they can’t........

They both may die. Steve can’t believe how bad everything has gotten and, as everyone looks at him, he does only one thing..........

    Blame himself.

Abe and Celeste then walk up to Frankie’s room, asking how he’s doing. Bo is sitting next to Caroline and says there is still no change. Greta is then wheeled around the corner by her father as Celeste says that something is about to happen. Jack and Billie look at Frankie as his eyes start to slowly open and then, in a whisper, he says.....

Frankie: At least.......I woke up in time......to see the NFL playoffs.

Everyone laughs as Jack goes to get a nurse and Greta is taken into his room. As Jack runs out, Billie leans forward and Frankie asks her to do one thing......

Frankie: Tell my family.........how much I love them. Tell Greta too. And.........tell Ma.........thank you.

He then goes into cardiac arrest as Caroline jumps up and has to be restrained from going into his room. Greta is taken out and so is a crying Billie as Mike and Lexie race in, along with a full medical crew.

All Greta hopes is that she gets the chance to tell Frankie how she feels......and blames herself for not saying it sooner.

The blinds are closed as the family waits and, fifteen minutes later, Mike walks out with Lexie right behind him. When Caroline walks over to him, followed by her family and friends, she asks Mike how her son is doing. Mike looks at her.........grimly, and tells her........

Mike: I think it’s time you called Father Jansen. There isn’t much time left.

Bo stares ahead as a tear rolls down his cheek. Greta starts crying and, as both Victor and Maggie try to comfort her, Caroline asks to go in and see her son. She wants to be there when he dies. Abe and Celeste and Kim, Max, and Abby look on as Caroline is helped into Frankie’s room by Bo.......

And as they look at a brain-dead Frankie, the scene sees Caroline crying in Bo’s arms......and then slowly fades to black.

1/11/06 (new day in Salem FINALLY!!!)

-Bonnie, Belle, and Shawn are sitting with Mimi. Mimi called them all to tell them that her test results are in. Shawn reminds Bonnie and Belle not to get Mimi upset. The doctor warned against stress. He stares at Belle when saying this as she apologizes again for what she did last night. Bonnie tries calling Roman at home and then the station. She learns he is at the station but not taking phone calls. She thinks about going down there but remembers how angry he was with her and decides to give him some space and maybe he will get over it and they can work it out. She decides to just be there for her daughter and hope that she is ok and that by some miracle Patrick is found alive.

-Hope is at JT’s bedside when the nurse comes in and says she has a phone call. She takes it. Its Roman. He tells her that Bo is still at the accident scene and that he doesn’t know when he will be back. Hope asks Roman why Bo just didn’t call her himself. Roman says he guesses it was because he is with Billie and they are at odds over Chelsea and her. Hope wonders how Bo and her will deal with this and then asks Roman how he is doing. He says he is fine and wishes people would stop asking him that. Hope says that he needs to let everything out. Roman says he is fine and that he doesn’t have to let out anything. He says he has to go and they both say there goodbyes. The nurse then comes in and tells Hope that the Reiber’s attorney called and that he is on his way here to take care of their affairs. Hope asks the nurse if she knows what that may include. The nurse says it does include her and her husband but she doesn’t know how. All he asked is that Hope and Bo Brady be present, as well as any other members of their family that wish to. Hope wonders if she may be getting JT back and starts reminiscing about their time together (we see flashbacks of her holding him for the first time, her playing with him, some of their final moments together before they gave him up and the moment they did give him up). She lovingly touches JT and tells him that she never got over giving him up and either did the family. They always considered him family and he was always her son to her. She lays her head on his body as she tearfully begs him to get through this so that he can have a chance to be reunited with the family that brought him up.

-Caroline visits Roman at the station. She tells him that she has made the funeral preparations and that it will be at St. Luke’s and the reception at the pub. It will be a joint funeral for both Shawn Sr and Mickey. Everyone decided on this since they both died together and the families are so close. She also says that Eric is coming home as is Kim and Shane and the kids. She also says that Kayla is coming home with Stephanie too. Roman says its great. Caroline begs Roman to show some emotion as Roman blasts her and complains about everyone, especially Bonnie, nagging him about showing emotions and letting his feelings out. Caroline says that they are all right. He can’t keep everything bottled up and she says that he always does that for the family but it has to stop. She grabs him and says that his father died and he needs to grieve and he can’t do that and move on until he lets everything out. Roman tells his mother he is sorry but he can’t do that. Its not him and he is not gonna turn in a wreck when his family needs him to stay strong to get them through this. He apologizes and says that people need to let him handle this his own way. Caroline agrees to back off but asks him why he mentioned Bonnie nagging him when he was yelling. Roman tells Caroline that Bonnie wants him to do the same thing everyone else wants him too and that she is pushing him to just open up to her. Caroline says she will stop pushing but she will push him to apologize to Bonnie. She tells him that she may be a little “out there” but she is still human and she was there for him last night all night. Caroline says that Maggie even noticed a different side to Bonnie-she was compassionate and loving and she really cared about helping him. She agrees that Bonnie may not be right for Roman but he does owe her an apology for at least being a good friend. Roman says he will speak with Bonnie later. Caroline leaves to go to St. Luke’s for a meeting with Fr. Jansen about the funeral. Roman goes into his office and looks at a picture of his father. Tears start welling up in his eyes but he quickly wipes them away. He remembers how he treated Bonnie and realizes he has to apologize. As he is about to call, a officer comes in and needs him for something and Roman decides to call her later.

-Bo and Billie are still searching the accident scene. They still can’t find anything. Bo comforts Billie who breaks down when a rescue worker thinks that the chances of Patrick and Chelsea being alive is slim. He thinks they were burned up in the car and that they were blown up to nothing when the car exploded. Bo tells Billie they will keep looking until they find concrete proof. Billie asks Bo how they will deal with Hope and all the others who blame Chelsea and them for the tragedy. She adds that no matter if Chelsea is gone or not, people are gonna blame her and them and her mother for what happened. She blames herself saying that she let her mother spoil Chelsea and that she did let her get away with everything but she wanted her to love her. She wanted a relationship with her daughter and wanted to make up for not being there while she was growing up. Bo says he is at fault too. He gave her too much and let her do everything too. He says he should have never let her go on that trip with Patrick as Billie says that she and Hope pushed too but Chelsea would have found a way to go anyway because she always got her way and that was the problem. She tells Bo that even if she went with Max last night she might have still ended up in this mess because of her behavior. Bo says they need to figure out what happened and he promises Billie he will. Billie asks Bo why they didn’t stop Chelsea and her ways before it was too late. She says that they should have listened to Hope and everyone else and that they failed as parents. Bo tells her they didn’t fail, they just made some mistakes. No one is perfect and they just need to hope that she is alive somehow and that they get another chance. They just need to search and hope for the best. Bo says he could care less about finding Patrick if he is alive as Billie begs to differ. She also says that they would need Patrick for the truth since Chelsea would lie. Bo says that Patrick would lie too but says that they need to stop fighting and look for anything that could prove they are still alive. They go back to searching.

-Lexie finally returns to the Carver house. She is a emotional wreck. She is shocked when he opens the door and finds suitcases filled with her belongings in front of her. Abe declares that he didn’t think she would come home. She says that she wanted to give him time and space but Abe says that he doesn’t need anything. Her latest lies and betrayal are the final straw and he wants her out. She begs him and explains to him how vulnerable she was after he “died” at the hands of the SSK. She says Tek was there for her and she just couldn’t help but grow close to him. He was so good with Theo. She also cites how he pushed her away during his blindness and that once they reconciled in the Fall and he finally stopped with his angry behavior her and Tek stayed away from each other. Abe says that he knows he is partly responsible but she still never told him what happened in his absence and she still got involved with a man who was nothing but a womanizer in the past and she knew that. Lexie says that he treated her well and Theo well and she was vulnerable. Abe admits his mistakes concerning his behavior but says that he wanted the truth from Lexie. Tek told him on the island that he was there for Theo and Lexie but as friends. He expected that his wife would tell her own husband the truth but she didn’t. She let it go on and eventually gave in and had an affair which she still never told him herself about. He admits he would have understood if she told him but instead he had to catch her. He asks if anyone else knew. She says Alex knew and actually blackmailed her but backed off after Marlena learned he was her husband. Abe says that it’s a relief that Alex and Celeste were the only ones that knew otherwise he would feel like a complete fool despite his blindness. He tells Lexie they could have had it all. He is cured now and they could have been happy but he can’t trust her. She has lied and betrayed him too many times and he knows their were circumstances that furthered this and that he pushed her away but it was her dishonesty that hurt him. He tells her that it was that same dishonesty that drove Tek to his death. She begs Abe for another chance and says they can have it all. Abe tells her that he doesn’t know what the future holds but that he needs her to leave for awhile until he can sort through this. She asks him about Theo. He says that she can see him when she wants but Celeste will have to bring him to her. He just can’t look at her right now. Celeste comes in with Theo after a walk. Lexie holds her baby. Abe goes into the kitchen and tells Lexie she better be gone when he gets back. Lexie says a sad goodbye to Theo and tells him she will see him everyday and that everything will be ok. His mommy and daddy will be ok. They have to be. She breaks down in tears and hugs Theo. Celeste reminds Lexie that she warned her about this. She said Tek was bad news and that, in a way, his death spared her what would have happened had he won her from Abe. He would have picked up and left her just like he did to all the other women he left after they divorced their husbands. She says that he wouldn’t have done that to her but Celeste says that Lexie was blinded by him even after she knew what he was. She tells Lexie that her infidelity and deceit led to this and it led to death and the destruction of her family. She tells Lexie that she has hurt Abe too much and had too many chances. This may be the final nail in the coffin. She tells her mother not to say that and says that without Abe she has nothing. Celeste then has the same vision she had at the accident scene and says that Lexie still has her Dimera blood and she warns Lexie not to turn back to evil in her time of vulnerability and need. Lexie says it doesn’t matter what she does if she doesn’t have Abe. She already has done enough damage and is responsible for Tek’s death. She should have went to meet him or just agreed to keep her mouth shut otherwise he would have never rushed back and got killed. She may as well have killed Tek herself since she sent the man to his death and it was his love for her that drove him there. She confesses to her mother that she did love Tek but not as much as Abe and now she has lost both of them and has nothing. Celeste warns Lexie again not to let evil take her over again, reminding her what happened the last time she was desperate and turned to evil by embracing her Dimera roots. Lexie tells her mother that nothing matters right now since she lose Tek and the love of her life, Abe. She may even lose Theo if Abe decides to go that far. Abe comes in (after overhearing everything from behind the door) and says that they will deal with that later and she needs to leave. Lexie kisses Theo and holds him again and gives him to her mother. Celeste says that she will stay at the house so Theo will still have her. Lexie hugs her and thanks her. She tries to go and embrace Abe but he backs away. She goes and picks up her bags and looks at them once more and walks out the door. Celeste puts Theo down to play and aks Abe if he heard everything they discussed. He says he did and he breaks down in tears wondering why Lexie hurt him and how he will deal with this. He even says he is worried about what Lexie might do, including going back to her Dimera roots with nothing to lose now. Celeste has that vision again and is really worried. She holds Abe, who continues to sob and wonder where they all go from here. Lexie watches from outside the window and cries, declaring to herself that she has lost Abe and Tek forever and maybe her son as well. Her family is shattered because of her lies and she wonders how she could hurt Abe like this. She picks up her bags and walks away as she says that she loves Theo and Abe and always will and never meant for it to be like this for everyone.

-Maggie is with Alice, Doug, Julie, and Jen. Frankie is there too with Max and Abby. Funeral arrangements are being made for Mickey and Shawn Sr’s joint funeral. Jen goes to get coffee and asks if Frankie si alright. He tells her that he can’t believe the man he always considered his dad is gone. Jen comforts him and promises to help him get through this. Frankie says she already is. Jen also consoles Max and says she is here for him. The other Horton members also pledge their support to Frankie and Max. They both thank all of them. Max thanks Abby for spending New Year’s eve with them and says he is sorry it turned bad. She says not to worry about it and that they both had tragic losses last night and that they need to be there for each other to get through this. They overhear everyone talk about Chelsea and her role in this. Jen and Alice don’t blame her but the others do and Max and Abby disagree but decide to stay silent so they don’t start an uproar. They both then admit to each other that Chelsea probably did play a part in the pileup though but they can’t see laying the blame totally on her since other cars were involved. They hope that both Patrick and her are alive even though Max hates Patrick and was hurt by Chelsea when she went off on a trip with him instead of being with her. Abby comforts him and says that they will get through this together and they embrace. During the whole funeral discussion, Maggie keeps thinking about drinking and the temptation grows with every minute. Alice and the others remind Maggie not to blame herself but Maggie says she can’t help it. She should have never sent him out. Alice insists that everything last night was meant to be and is really no one’s fault. Everyone then goes back to blaming Chelsea and the lack if discipline on Bo and Billie’s part but Alice and Jen say that no one is perfect and that they really don’t know the whole story. Jen then says she hopes Patrick is alive, which makes Frankie cringe as he remembers Jack warning him to make sure that Patrick is far away from his family. Meanwhile, we see Jack (who is in a blonde wig and has dark sunglasses on along with a hat)and Greta board her private plane. They are gonna start their journey in Austrailia where Greta found a doctor who may be able to help Jack. Greta reminds Jack of their deal and Jack insists that he remembers and hopes they can find a cure but doubts it. He is ready either way though and is happy that Frankie is doing what he thought he would. They open a newspaper and are shocked to learn about the pileup and deaths. Jack feels bad for Jen losing Mickey and for Billie losing her daughter and for everyone else that died. He learns about Patrick and admits he is happy that scum is dead, he explains to Greta why he feels that way as Greta thinks maybe they should stay now given everything that is going on. She is concerned about John and his condition and wants to be there to support the Brady’s and Horton’s who were so good to her. Jack insists he feels the same way but he is running out of time too and they need to get going. Greta agrees and says she will call everyone and give her sympathies once they arrive on the ground. The plane then begins to move as Jack looks out the window and says one last goodbye to Jennifer just in case he never sees her or Salem again. Back to the Horton house, Alice goes to lie down and tells Maggie again not to blame herself as does everyone else. Everyone leaves and Maggie is alone. She continues to fight her temptation to drink and decides to go for a walk in the park. She knows Mickey wouldn’t her to drink but she just can’t deal with the pain of losing him and being the one that sent him out with Shawn Sr. She leaves the house in tears, wondering how she will ever deal with this.

Back at the hospital, the doctor arrives with Mimi’s results. Shawn promises to be there for her no matter what. Belle gets jealous as Bonnie tells her not to expect to get Shawn back just because they know Claire is his. She is still married to Phillip and Shawn loves Mimi so Belle better cool it or she will take action to protect her daughter. She tells Belle that she has always loved her because her and Mimi were best friends but she will not stand by and watch Belle destroy her daughter’s life. She gave up Shawn for Phillip and now she needs to live with it and let things alone. Belle says that Shawn will make the decision after everything calms down with Mimi, Claire, and everything else and she will not pressure him. Shawn does love her and she loves him and she will respect his decision no matter what and she says Bonnie should too. They all then quiet down to hear what the doctor says. He tells Mimi he has good news. He doesn’t know how its possible but she is pregnant. Mimi gasps in shock as she tells Shawn she is going to have his baby. Bonnie smiles and Belle looks on in horror realizing she may have just lost Shawn as the screen fades to black.

    On the next Days...

Bonnie warns Belle to back off. Mimi’s happiness is short- lived. Maggie makes a shocking purchase. Carrie tells Lucas that her and him can never be more then friends. Austin takes Sami out to get her mind off her troubles. Caroline pushes Victor away.

JANUARY 11, 2008-EPISODE #413: ALL IN THE FAMILY

    UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Adrienne comforts Stephanie in a waiting area. She tells Stephanie she is sorry for yelling at her but just thinks it's not the time or place to be lashing out at Hope and her father. Stephanie nods, apologizing and admitting she lost her cool. Stephanie agrees to drop what her father and Hope did until she knows that her mother and unborn sibling are ok. Adrienne smiles and embraces her, assuring her she is doing the right thing.

Meanwhile, a stoic Marlena returns to Hope and Steve, who are outside Kayla's room, telling them the news about Frankie isn't good. She tells them Fr. Jansen has been called and Frankie's brain activity has slowed considerably. Hope and Steve are shocked. An emotional Hope falls into Steve's arms, saying they did this, just as Adrienne and Stephanie enter to witness the scene...

Outside Frankie's room, Mike and Lexie are explaining Frankie's condition to Jack, Billie, Abe, Celeste, Max, Abby, Bo, Kim, Victor, Maggie, Greta, and Caroline. Carrie and Belle arrive, wheeling Sami. Caroline is glad they are there, saying the family needs to be together right now. Mike tells Caroline Frankie has nearly no brain activity at all due to the severe blow he took and blood is having a hard time getting to his heart. Lexie adds that it's only a matter of time. Bo and Kim comfort Caroline as she breaks down. Abby comforts Max. Abe goes to call the station to fill Roman in.

Victor kneels down near Greta and tells her he is so sorry. Greta asks what he's sorry for. She tells Victor defiantly that Frankie is going nowhere. Everyone looks at Greta and they begin to realize she is in denial. Greta tells them all she still believes Frankie is going to make it, especially once she tells him what she needs to. Mike interjects and thinks they should all begin to say their goodbyes as they wait for Fr. Jansen.

Caroline tells Carrie, Sami, and Belle to go in first. The girls enter. Carrie takes Frankie's hand, telling him she used to have the biggest crush on him when she was growing up. She admits being embarrassed by it. Sami and Belle are stunned and smile slightly. Sami tells Frankie she wishes she got to know him better and spent more time with him. Belle agrees, saying she promises to not make that mistake with Max. Sami agrees.

Jack and Billie walk in as Carrie, Belle, and Sami move to the side. Billie is fighting back tears and tells Frankie she only wishes she had known him longer then the past few years. He is a great guy, a great friend, and adds that she enjoyed working with him to investigate the cloaked figure last year.

Billie: Your going out the hero, Frankie. You were always the good guy...right up...until now.

Billie begins to cry as she takes Frankie's hand and kisses it, saying:

    Billie: Goodbye, my friend.

Jack then steps forward and tells Frankie:

Jack (smiling slightly): It's not fair you get to see Jennifer first. I guess I can spot you a win, though.

    Jack and everyone else laughs.

Jack: All the times I cheated death and I'm still here and you...something seems wrong with this picture, Francois. Seriously, thank you, Frankie. I've never had many friends but you...were one of a kind. I will never forget all that you did for me, Abigail, Jack Jr...and...for Jennifer. Not to mention all that you have done lately for Billie and I...your one of a kind. We'll meet again, my friend. Say hello to Jennifer for me.

Jack pats Frankie on the shoulder and walks off, seemingly fighting back tears. Bo and Kim then walk up. A crying Kim takes Frankie's hand. Bo stands behind her and puts his hand on Frankie's shoulder.

Bo: I always knew how you and Max felt...not being blood Brady's. It was harder for you both, though. I grew up thinking I was a Brady by blood but you two had no trouble fitting in. You were Brady's from the start. Always have been, always will be.
Kim: Bo is right. I never thought of you as anything but a brother to me. You don't know how much you will be missed, Frankie. We love you...so much.
Bo: We're losing a good man. And don't you worry about Max. We'll all take care of him.
Kim: And be there for him.
Bo: We'll miss you, man. Goodbye.
    Kim: Goodbye, Frankie.

Kim kisses Frankie on the cheek as Bo wheels her away. Caroline, Max, and Abby walk in to say their goodbyes but Abe then announces that Fr. Jansen has arrived. Fr. Jansen walks into Frankie's room and apologizes to Caroline, Max, and everyone in the room for their loss. Greta wheels over to Fr. Jansen, saying she is glad he is there. Frankie could use prayers and a blessing to give him the strength to fight through this. Everyone looks at Greta with great concern. Fr. Jansen takes Greta's hand, smiles, and nods. He tells Greta it's always good to have hope. She smiles.

Fr. Jansen then approaches Frankie's bedside. Mike suggests Fr. Jansen begin as there may not be much time. Fr. Jansen says he understands and announces it's time to begin...as the scene shifts back to...

Hope and Steve, who are stunned to see Adrienne and Stephanie there. Hope backs away from Steve. Marlena interrupts the tense moment and fills them both in on the news about Frankie. Stephanie is devastated. Adrienne comforts her. Rich then comes out of Kayla's room and says that Kayla's blood pressure is stable. He then adds that he heard about Frankie and advises them not to tell Kayla anything about that yet. Steve wonders what they should do as Kayla would want to mourn her brother and would hate not knowing about it. Rich tells Steve it's up to all of them but any stress right now could cost Kayla and the baby their lives. Rich's words stun and worry everyone as the scene shifts back to...

Frankie's room, as Fr. Jansen has finished the Last Rites and Caroline is thanking him for coming so quickly. He wishes Caroline the best and tells her to remember Frankie will be with God. Caroline nods. Everyone else then says goodbye to Fr. Jansen and thanks him. Mike looks at Frankie's monitors and says it should not be long now. Caroline tells Max and Abby to go ahead. They walk up. Abby takes Frankie's hand and says:

Abby: It's not fair. First, mom. Now, you. We've all been through so much. You know, mom is probably going to be angry at you when you see her. You promised her you would be there for me and JJ.

    Jack smiles and laughs.

Abby: She'll probably get over it though. She always does. At least, now, she will have another friend with her. She'll like that. We'll miss you, though. JJ will miss the way you read him bedtime stories with those wacky voices dad always tries to do but sucks at.

    Jack and everyone else laughs.

Abby (beginning to cry): I'll always regret the way I treated you at times. I was a brat, Frankie. All because you were taking care of my mom and it wasn't fair. Your a good guy. You didn't deserve it and you certainly didn't deserve this. I just want you to know...that I love you. And thank you. Thank you for being there for me. And for JJ. And for my mom and dad.

Abby then looks at a stoic Max and embraces him before he sits down next to his brother.

Max: This isn't right, man. I know we have the Brady's but you and I...it was always us. Frankie and Max. I can't remember how many times you protected me or saved my ass, especially when we were on the streets. I don't know what I will do without you. Giving me advice, telling me how stupid I am...poker nights.

Max begins to break down after trying to fight back tears.

Max: Damn, Frankie. This isn't right. It's not your time. It's too soon. You haven't even had a chance to be happy. Always worrying about others. I don't know...I mean, making it without you is something I don't think I can do. I've always had you in my corner but now...I can't believe your doing this, bro.

Abby puts her arms around Max.

    Max: I love you, man.

Max then gets up and walks off in frustration, wiping his tears as Abby comforts him. Caroline then looks back at Greta, who says she isn't saying goodbye. She knows he isn't going anywhere and they have all the time in the world. Victor reminds her of what she wanted to tell Frankie. Greta says she knows he is going to be ok and that Frankie will hold on...for her and the people he loves. Victor tells Caroline to go ahead. Caroline sits down and takes Frankie's hand, saying:

Caroline (wiping away tears): I may not have given birth to you or Max but you both were always my sons. In every way. And your pop and I could not have been more prouder of the both of you. Nor could we have loved you anymore then we did. I know you are going to be with Shawn now. He will happy to see you, although he won't be happy it's this soon. You tell him we all miss him, along with all the other loved ones we've lost.

Caroline breaks down. Bo comes over and comforts her.

Caroline: I hope you realize how loved you are and how much you will be missed. You had so much more love left to give. So much more kindness and joy. The world needs more people like you and is a worse place without you in it. I know there is a spot in heaven for you, my son. You earned it. The perfect angel. Your someone to look up to. The perfect role model. Just know, that I love you, my Frankie. Your mother loves you. Your mother loves you.

A crying Caroline gets up and kisses Frankie on the forehead as Bo embraces her and walks her away. Everyone then looks at Greta. Maggie kneels down and suggests Greta say what she has to say to Frankie, just in case. That way she has no regrets. Greta looks at Maggie and then at Victor. She then looks at Frankie and agrees, saying she is only doing this to help Frankie fight this. Greta wheels over as everyone watches.

Abe and Lexie look at Celeste, who is shaking and in tears. Lexie asks if she is ok. Celeste tells her the time is near and that the heartbreak is just beginning. Greta, with tears in her eyes, wheels over to Frankie, takes his hand, and tells him:

Greta: I refuse to think this is it. Not now. Not like this. We finally have something in here and God knows we both have been unlucky in love. Unlucky in our lives with all the heartache we have experienced. I think that is why we were brought together. It just seemed...meant to be.

    Greta begins to cry.

Greta: I will always regret how long it took me to realize what was going on between us. I told you that I didn't want to jinx anything, based on my past and all. That is why despite you telling me how you felt, I just couldn't tell you until I felt ready. I had planned to tell you after the wedding in a special way. A romantic evening, candlelight...but, instead, you saved my life and ended up here. Fighting for your life and my God, Frankie, that is why you can't die. You wouldn't want me blaming myself. I know you. I'm already blaming myself. You wouldn't want me feeling guilty. That just isn't you.

Mike looks at the monitors. Frankie's heart rate is dangerously slow.

Greta: I will always feel horrible about what happened. I will always be thankful for what you did. Reaching out, taking my hand, wrapping your arms around me as we crashed through the skylight and were falling...I will never forget you telling me you loved me as we were nearing the ground.

    Greta breaks down.

Greta: I have faith in you. I have hope. You can do this. Fight, Frankie. Come back to those you love. Come back to me. We can both finally have the happiness we always wanted. Please...we have so many more memories left to make. This is only just the beginning. Please...Frankie...

Frankie's monitor's start going off as he flatlines. Everyone in the room looks on in horror as the medical team races in. Tears are still being shed. Lexie and Abe look at Celeste, who puts her head down and turns away. Mike and Lexie tell Greta she needs to move but a hysterical Greta refuses, saying she isn't leaving him. Victor, Maggie, and Jack try to get her to back up but she won't do so. Mike and Lexie begin CPR and pull out the defibrillator. Lexie does compressions and Mike uses the paddles and charges them. Greta back up a bit so the doctors can work.

Greta: Please...FRANKIE! DON'T LEAVE ME! I LOVE YOU!! I LOVE YOU!! PLEASE!!

Everyone notes how tragic this is as they realize Greta finally told Frankie how he feels but it's too late. After a few more moments, Mike and Lexie stop and tell the team it's over. Caroline breaks down as Kim and Bo comfort her. Abby comforts Max. Abe and Celeste look on in sadness. Jack comforts Billie. Victor and Maggie try to console Greta, who asks why they are stopping. Mike looks at her, as does Lexie, who turns away, fighting back tears, and tells Mike to make the call. Mike reluctantly then says:

    Mike: Time of death...16:36 PM.

Loud screams of horror and agony can be heard as Greta is a hysterical mess and wheels over to Frankie, begging him to wake up and ordering Mike and Lexie to keep trying. They both apologize and tell her it's over. Frankie's gone.

Greta: NO!! FRANKIE!! PLEASE...NO!! DIDN'T YOU HEAR ME?! I LOVE YOU!! I SAID IT!! COME BACK!! DON'T GO...PLEASE!!!

Greta then breaks down on Frankie's chest. The camera then pans up to show an overheard shot of Greta lying on Frankie as everyone looks on, in mourning, as the scene fades to black.

    1/12/06

-Bonnie congratulates Mimi and hugs her. She whispers in her ear how she may have just ensured her future with Shawn. Shawn is stunned and happy. He hugs Mimi and says that he is gonna finally have a child as Belle reminds him of Claire. Shawn says he knows that and loves Claire but now he gets to be there for Mimi through the whole pregnancy and support her which he couldn’t do with her. Belle says that it wasn’t her fault that they never remembered being together. Bonnie then asks Belle to come with her to talk. They leave the room and Bonnie warns Belle to back off. She reminds her that she herself said that the choice of who he wants to be with was Shawn’s and it is now clear who he wants. Its Mimi. She is giving him a child and he needs to be there for her every step of the way. Shawn will be there for Claire too but she needs to back off and let Shawn be with Mimi. Belle says that Shawn loves her too and it doesn’t matter if Mimi is giving him a child-he already has one with her so it’s a moot point. Bonnie warns Belle to back off and let Shawn do what he wants. She also warns Belle that she will do what it takes to ensure her daughter’s well-being and happiness. She says that she always liked Belle and cared about her since she was Mimi’s best friend and helped them build a home when they were homeless but that is the past and she will not let Belle push Shawn and destroy her daughter’s life. They both go back in and hear Shawn tell Mimi that he will be there for her through everything and isn’t gonna leave her. He is so happy and says he loves her and their baby. Mimi cries and says she feels the same way. Belle looks on jealously as Bonnie laughs. The doctor then stops everything and tells them all that they didn’t let him finish before. Mimi’s condition is very precarious and given her medical history there is a high chance of miscarriage. They believed it was impossible for her to conceive but she did. Mimi says that she will hold onto that and hope that she gets another miracle and carries the baby to term. The doctor tells her to do that she needs to be stress-free and watched and taken care of at all times. Shawn says its no problem since they live together. The doctor stresses that anyone or anything that could upset Mimi should be avoided because they smallest worry could cause her to miscarry. Her condition is very delicate and she may later on have to be bed-ridden. Mimi doesn’t care and either does Shawn. They just want their baby to be born and to be healthy and happy. The doctor leaves as bonnie warns Belle not to hurt her daughter and cause her to lose this baby. She tells Belle that the best thing to do would be for her to stay away from Shawn and stop with all the embraces and close moments since they could upset Mimi. Belle says that she loves Shawn and that they shouldn’t have to do that but Bonnie warns her that if Belle does anything to hurt Mimi she will pay. She hugs Mimi and congratulates her again. She says she will call her and will tell Connor everything and leaves. Mimi feels bad her brother isn’t here but says that she hopes he is alive since he would be a great uncle. There is still a chance and she needs to pray that it ends up like that. Shawn agrees. Mimi complains that she is hungry and Shawn offers to get some food for her. He says it will be the first of many times he will be waiting on her hand and foot. On the way out, he bumps into Belle. Belle congratulates him and Shawn thanks her. He warns Belle to avoid stressing Mimi out and also thinks that him and Belle should limit their amount of contact. Any close moments between them could cause Mimi stress. Belle says that Bonnie said the same thing. Shawn agrees and says that they can still see each other but they can’t let their feelings get the best of them. Belle cries and asks about their future together. She says she had hope but now it seems Shawn has made his choice. Shawn insists he hasn’t decided anything. He has to be there for Mimi to get her through this since her condition is so dangerous and after the baby is born he will decide what to do. Belle notes how it seems their reunion keeps getting put off and wonders if its meant to be. Shawn just asks Belle to abide by his wishes and she agrees. He said he will check on Claire later and thanks her for understanding. He leaves as Belle cries and admits that she believes that Shawn already made his choice and that its really over for her and him now. This time for good. Meanwhile, Mimi is overjoyed in her room and now feels confidant she has Shawn. She just hopes she carries her baby to term so she can finally have the life and family she wanted.

Carrie agrees and they say goodbye. Lucas asks her if she is ok. She lies and says yes. He knows something is up and tries to push it out of her but she just refuses to say. Lucas tells her he cares about her and then Carrie turns around and lashes out at him saying that he does care for her but he wants more then a friendship. She can’t give him that. She says she knows he wants her but she loves Austin, despite what he has done to her. Lucas asks what he did and Carrie finally tells him. She says that she feel betrayed and its like she never knew him. He has changed so much. Lucas asks her to give him a shot now that she knows what he did. Carrie realizes Lucas knew and blasts him for it. She realizes that he backed off his own pursuit of Highstyle because he knew if he let Austin have it it would put a wedge between them. Lucas admits he knew. Carrie lets him have it saying that now she doesn’t even want to be his friend. She says its just like when he helped Sami the last time. Lucas says that she knew too. Carrie then says that now it does feel like old times. She tells Lucas she is leaving his apartment He asks where she will go. She says she will stay at the pub with her grandma since she is all alone. He asks her if she is leaving Salem. She answers no because her family needs her and that she is not gonna run away from the people who have hurt her. She is not a doormat anymore. She tells Lucas that she doesn’t want to see him and doesn’t care if she ever sees him again. He begs ger to forgive him but she refuses saying she can’t even look at him. She leaves and says she will come back for her stuff later. Lucas is devastated and believes he has nothing left now. Will is MIA, he lost Sami, uncle Mickey is dead, he lost Sami and Carrie, his family doesn’t give a damn and they always think all his siblings are better then him, he hates his mother...his life is a disaster. He pulls out some vodka and prepares to take a drink but stops. He tries to call Maggie but she doesn’t answer. He stares at the bottle and is so tempted and picks it up. His hand shakes and he puts it down. He lays his head on the table and cries all by himself in his apartment. Sami and Austin go to the ice skating rink. They have a good time and even skate and dance to “Winter Wonderland.” She thanks Austin for helping her and comforting her. It was good for her to get her mind off everything. Carrie sees what is happening as she walks through the park and prepares to confront both Austin and Sami.

-Caroline bumps into Bonnie (she thinks about telling Caroline about Mimi’s pregnancy but decides not to figuring it may upset Mimi if she started spreading news that she wants to spread herself when she is ready) in the park. They talk about Roman. Caroline is surprised by how warmly Bonnie talks of Roman and tells Bonnie that she would like it if Bonnie spent more time with Roman. Bonnie thanks her for her approval as Caroline says that Bonnie isn’t as bad as people make her out to be. Bonnie runs off but not before hugging Caroline and telling her she is sorry again about her husband. Victor bumps into Roman in the park too. He gives his condolences about Shawn Sr. Roman thanks him but warns Victor to stay away from his mother. Just because his father is dead doesn’t mean a clear road for him to win her heart again. Victor says he has no intentions of being nothing more then a friend to Caroline. Roman is pleased and tells him to keep it that way. Caroline hears this and continues to worry about what her infidelity and deceit would do to her family. She talks to Victor and tells him that it would be best if he stayed away from her and the family right now. Victor insists he wants to comfort her but just as friends. Caroline says that her family is suffering and he just adds tension when he is around. She knows he loves her but its best for everyone for him to keep his distance until further notice. She adds that he shouldn’t come to the funeral either. Victor says that he has to go to show his support to everyone but Caroline says that if he goes he should keep a low profile. Their secret can’t come out right now. She says she will tell everyone when the time is right but now is too painful and she can’t run the risk of someone seeing or hearing them. That is why he needs to keep his distance for now. He agrees and says he would always so anything for her. She thanks him and they embrace, She leaves and reminds him of his promise. Victor says he always holds to his word but then says he loves her too much not to help her and her family through this trying time. He vows to be there for her no matter what and says he doesn’t care what anybody thinks. He will keep the secret for her but can’t stay away from her. She is hurting and that means he is hurting so he needs to support her and will do so. Roman and Bonnie meet face to face in the park. She tells Roman that Mimi is fine and that they know what is going on. She decides to break her silence but makes Roman promise to keep it a secret for now. He agrees. She tells him Mimi is pregnant. Roman is happy for both Shawn and Mimi and says this is exactly what the family needs for some hope. He says its amazing Shawn will have two kids now. Bonnie stresses that Mimi as a difficult pregnancy ahead and Roman says he is sure she will be fine and he will do whatever he can to help. Bonnie then says she just told Connor about Mickey and Patrick. She hopes Patrick is still alive but comments on how they Connor doesn’t believe there is one and that his big brother is dead. She also cries about Mickey saying that Connor loved him so much because he treated him kindly. Bonnie says he was the best man she knew until she met Roman. Roman apologizes for his behavior and thanks Bonnie for everything she has done for him. He just doesn’t want people to force him to do something or act someway. She agrees to back off but says its her nature to be a handful and she thinks that Roman won’t get past what has happened until he lets everything out. She says that when Roman needs her to be there for him she will be. He thanks her and then says he has to get back to the station. They hug and glance at each other as he leaves. Bonnie says she has never felt this way before and feels so connected to him. She thinks maybe she has found that “special someone.” Roman watches her from a distance and admits he feels something different when with her. He says that maybe there is something between them to explore and just see what happens. Bonnie notices him staring and waves at him as he does the same. They both smile at each other.

-Maggie walks through the park. She has flashbacks of meeting Mickey, marrying him, and hanging the ornaments on the tree at Christmas. She then flashes back to sending Mickey and Shawn out into the storm and blames herself again for both their deaths. She screams that she not only is to blame for Mickey’s death but also for Shawn Sr’s. She remembers how she almost drank the night before but threw the bottle and broke it. She has been able to think about nothing but alcohol all day. She thinks it’s the only way to deal with the pain and agony she is facing. She remembers her AA meeting and advice and says that Mickey would not want her to give him to temptation. She thinks about calling Lucas so they can support each other but then changes her mind. She overhears some people coming and they are reading the paper. They are commenting on the accident and are reading about all the deaths. The read about Mickey and Shawn Sr’s and wonder why they were out in the storm. They comment on how nice both men were. Mickey had been a lawyer for one of them and Shawn Sr had served them at the pub. They all agree that both men had to be out on their own accord. Anyone that would’ve sent them out last night may as well have hurt or killed them themselves. Maggie hears all this and goes behind the bushes. She covers her mouth and begins to shake and break down uncontrollably. She has the same flashbacks she had earlier of her and Mickey and then her sending them out into the storm. She blames herself and screams that she should be punished. She hears the voices of those people she overheard and their words in her head. She holds her head and runs off in tears. Eventually, she ends up at a liquor store. She wipes her tears and walks in reluctantly. She walks over and tries to pull back but convinces herself that she needs to drink to get through this. Her vow of sobriety no longer matters. She lost her husband and doesn’t even care if she drinks herself to death. She blames herself for his death and costing a woman her husband and no one can convince her otherwise. She picks on bottle and then another and so on. Eventually, she has a whole basket full and the clerk asks her if she is having a party and then asks if she is ok noticing her hands shaking and tears in her eyes. She urges him to cash her out and stop asking questions. He does so and she walks out. She takes one of the bottles out of the bag outside the store and asks herself what she is doing. She prepares to go back in and return everything but then changes her mind. She now believes that drinking will be her punishment and if she drinks herself to death so be it. It would serve her right. She needs to do this to stop feeling the way she is and to punish herself plain and simple. She put the bottle in the bag and looks up to the sky and says, “Sorry my darling Mickey. I know if I do this you will be disappointed in me but what I did already was the worst disappointment. I failed you as a wife and I sent you and Shawn to your deaths. I am too blame and nothing matters now. Nothing I do matters. I need to be punished and I need to stop feeling this pain inside of me. I have to do this-I can’t take it anymore.” She breaks down again as she starts walking away as the screen fades to black.

-Lexie is in her car near the park. The Salem Inn is booked solid and she wants to stay someplace close by to Theo and her family. She just doesn’t know where to go and doesn’t want to stay at anyone else’s since they are all dealing with deaths in the family and other issues. Plus, she doesn’t want to bring her business and force it on them. She drives around having flashbacks of her time with Tek and feeling guilty about getting involved with him, given his past, and her role in his death. She flashes back to Abe learning the truth and to earlier when she was kicked out of the Carver house. She breaks down in tears and pulls over, wondering how she will go on and vowing not to lose her family and son. She begins to question how she loses everything when she is a good person and when she is a bad person . She just can’t win and wonders how she is supposed to be. She looks over and can’t believe where she is. It’s the Dimera mansion. One of the maids is walking in and notices Lexie. Lexie gets out and they hug. The maid tells Lexie that the mansion is empty and all they do is just keep it up. She also mentions that the staff loves her and would like her to someday return with her family. Lexie mentions she has issues at home and can’t find a place to stay. The maid reminds Lexie that she is a Dimera and has a right to the house. She should stay there until everything smooths over. Lexie remembers the vision her mother had of her going back to her roots and then her mother warning her not to turn back to evil. Lexie wonders if maybe it was fate that she just so happened to pull over hear and that maybe going back to her roots is what was meant to happen. Maybe this is how she will get her family back? She decides not to be totally good or totally bad but to just have an edge. She needs to be strong and do what it takes to get what she wants and being a “goody two shoes” is clearly not gonna do that. She just needs to make sure she doesn’t go to extremes like she did the last time. She decides to move in and takes her bags in. The staff welcomes her back as she says, “There is no place like home.”
-Bo and Billie are still looking for Chelsea at the scene. Bo continues to comfort her as Billie says that he always knew what to do to make her feel better. He says to not worry about anything or anyone else but their daughter. She agrees but asks him again what he will do about Hope and the others and how they are blaming Chelsea for what happened. Bo says they will just have to deal with that later. One of the rescue workers approaches them and gives them the bad news that they are calling off the search. They have found nothing and have searched for miles. They know both Patrick and Chelsea were in the car when it crashed in the ravine so if they were alive they would be around. They can’t even find the bodies so they most likely got incinerated by the explosion and its impact. Billie breaks down in Bo’s arms and refuses to give up. Bo admits that its almost hopeless. They have searched for miles and have combed every inch of the area. Billie cries in his arms and regrets all the time they missed with her and sending her and Patrick on that trip. Bo thinks Patrick might have been responsible somehow but Billie says she doesn’t want to fight. She laments the fact that they just found their daughter and now she is gone and that Patrick had to lose his life too. He was good to her and really cared about her. Bo begins to break down in tears to as they both hold each other in comfort over losing their daughter.

-Alice, Doug, Julie, and Jen join Hope at the hospital. They discuss JT. Hope explains that the Reiber’s attorney is due in Salem in the afternoon and has asked Bo and hope to be present. They all wonder if Jt may be theirs again. Hope continues to be by JT’s bedside as the others all say hello to him again and tell him how much they missed him. Alice recommends they all go to the chapel to pray for him and for John, who is still in a coma. They go to the chapel and light a candle for JT and John. Hope then kneels and makes an emotional plea to not take JT from her again when she just got him back. Jen tells Doug that she hopes that Hope isn’t getting her hopes up regarding JT. She may not got him back and, even if she does, he may not make it. Jen calls Frankie and asks him to be Hope’s attorney in case she needs one when the Reiber’s attorney arrives. Jen and Doug talk about how good it is that Frankie was around to take over Mickey’s practice now that he is gone. Julie joins them and they begin to discuss Maggie and how they are worried about her since she blames herself for Mickey’s death. Julie tries calling her but there is no answer. They all begin to worry. Alice comforts Hope and urges her to have faith. Hope says she does and hopes that it will get the family through this trying time. They hold hands and continue to pray.

-Carrie walks up to Austin and Sami at the rink. She says she has something to tell them. She tries several times but realizes that what Austin did was so horrible that he would be getting off easy if she just confronted him right now. She wants him to realize that what he did was wrong and that this new side of him is not the right way to go. She wants him to be the man she used to love not this power crazed, money hungry, corporate mogul. She decides not to tell him she knows right now and to just let him find out on his own. Its bound to come out eventually since Lucas knows and its only a matter of time before Austin himself knows. She backs away and says she has to go. Austin asks her to join them but she says she has plans and leaves. Austin wonders why Carrie doesn’t want to be with him. Sami thinks that she may just want to be by herself since she may be taking grandpa’s death hard or maybe she is up to something else. He agrees to leave her alone for now but says that if it continues much longer he will try to find out what is wrong. Sami and him continue to have fun and think of old times (cue flashbacks of them skating and of their snowball fight). Sami thanks him again for everything he has done for her. He says the same to her and says he is so happy she has change and grown up. They embrace as Sami grows confident she is winning Austin and wonders what is up with her sister. Meanwhile, Carrie starts thinking about her future. She thinks a future with Austin is out of the question unless he can change his ways and things with Mike didn’t work out. She decides to start fresh and looks for a job. She sees something in the paper and says that its perfect but wonders if it would work out. She makes a phone call and states her interest in the position. She says that she doesn’t want any special preference she knows the CEO. They agree to bring her in an interview like everyone else. She hangs up and declares that this is the start of a whole new life for her.

-Lucas, feeling lonely and depressed because Will is MIA and Mickey is dead and he lost Carrie and Sami, stares at a bottle of vodka he almost drank earlier. He flashes back to learning his mother set Sami and Brandon up, learning Sami was Stan, being Victor’s second choice to work at Titan, all the recent times where he has felt like an outsider as Austin was comforting Sami and Carrie, Will calling and saying he doesn’t know when he will return, Mickey dying, and how his family or friends don’t even call to check on him or comfort him. He feels truly alone. He comes to picking up the bottle but fights it several times. Meanwhile, Maggie is home with all the bottles she bought from the liquor store. She flashes back to sending Mickey and Shawn Sr out into the storm, seeing them bloody in the car, Mickey and Shawn dying, and the people she overheard in the park earlier who implied that it was a death sentence to send anyone out in a storm like that. Maggie cries and breaks down. She tries to remember how Mickey would hate for her to take a drink but she knows its her fault. Everyone is just trying to make her feel better but she knows Mickey’s and Shawn Sr’s blood is on her hands. She also wonders what kind of AA sponsor she would be to Lucas if she drank. She then remembers her vow to punish herself for her actions and that this is the only way she can deal with what she has down. She fights it again and again repeatedly. We see Lucas do the same. The images of Maggie and Lucas are intermingled as we them give in and drink from the bottles in slow motion and then, after the first sip, they both start guzzling as the screen fades to black.

    On the next Days...

Maggie and Lucas get hammered. Carrie gets a job. Roman comforts Marlena and Bonnie. Bo is torn between Hope and Billie. Sami and Austin get a call from Nicole in LA.

    JANUARY 14, 2008-EPISODE #414: ONE SWEET DAY

    UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

The camera shows an overheard shot of Frankie's room and Greta lying on his chest as nurses turn off the monitors and start cleaning up the area. The camera then pans down and over to Mike, who is telling Caroline how sorry he is. Caroline nods, saying she knows Lexie and him did the best they could. She embraces him and thanks him and Lexie for all that they did.

Abby walks over to Max and puts her arms around him, asking if he is ok. A grief-stricken Max tells Abby he can't believe that Frankie is gone. Abby embraces him. Jack goes over to Billie and asks if she is ok. Billie tells him it's hard to believe. Jack hates that it's always the good that die before their time and adds that Frankie did not deserve this. Billie agrees and adds that Greta didn't either and now the guilt will eat away at her for the rest of her life.

Victor and Maggie overhear and Victor says that is exactly what he is worried about. They all look over at Greta lying on Frankie's body. Maggie notes that she hasn't moved or said anything since her outburst after Frankie was declared dead. Victor wonders if they should move her and have her sedated. Lexie interjects and says it's ok. Greta just needs time and she will make sure the nurses leave Frankie there until Greta is ready. Victor thanks Lexie.

Abe walks over to Celeste and thanks her for not making a spectacle of herself even thought she knew what was happening. Celeste nods, saying there was nothing she could do to stop it and more pain is yet to come. Abe looks at her with worry as Lexie walks past him and out onto a balcony. Abe notices her upset and says he is going to go check on Lexie.

Meanwhile, Bo and Kim think they should go check on Kayla and pass on the bad news. Caroline admits she almost forgot that another one of her children is fighting for her life and her child's life. She thinks it's a good idea to go check on Kayla. Carrie, Sami, and Belle say they will go with them. Billie suggests Jack go be with Steve. Jack admits he is worried about Greta but Billie says she can stay back with Greta. His brother needs him. Jack tells Billie to let him know if she or Greta needs anything.

Victor and Maggie also agree to stay back with Billie to monitor Greta. Abby suggests to Max they go check on Kayla too. Max nods, saying he can't lost his sister too. Not today. They walk off, leaving Victor and Maggie behind with Billie as they watch Greta, with her head rested on Frankie's chest.

Abe enters the balcony and finds Lexie in tears. He asks about what is wrong. Lexie says she's fine. Abe points out he can see she has been crying and asks what is wrong. Abe tells her that if it's about Frankie, she did everything she could.

Lexie: Did I, Abe? You know, I've just returned to medicine and I'm already questioning myself.
Abe: Why? What else could you have done?
Lexie: Been honest. I could've stood there and told the Brady's what was really going on.
    Abe: What do you mean?
Lexie: I was in surgery with Frankie, Abe. I saw the damage. It was extensive. Survival was a long shot from the start yet, Mike and I stood right in that room (points to the waiting area inside) and told Frankie's friends and family there was still hope.
Abe: I don't see the problem.
Lexie: His loved ones needed to hear the truth. Needed me to be straight with them. Blunt, even if it hurt them. You would think it would be easy for me, given how I treated all my friends and family this past year. I'm a Dimera, for heaven's sake. I should've been honest. I should've came right out and said it. Mike and I both knew it. (beginning to cry) He never had a chance.

Abe takes Lexie in his arms.

Abe: Lexie, that person you were this past year was not you. You may have Dimera blood but that woman that turned her back on her family is not you.
Lexie: I don't know about that.
Abe: I do. You just wanted them to have hope. There's nothing wrong with that. You've always been like that as a doctor.
Lexie: This was different, Abe. From the minute we opened him up, I knew. Mike knew. We all knew. The more we explored the damage, the more certain it became what the result would be. One of my advisers in medical school once told me there are two kinds of doctors. You have the ones who want to give the family just the slightest chance of hope, at the very least. Then, you have the doctors who just walk out and give it to you right then and there. No BS. Just the truth. This is what the situation is. I'm sorry. It hurts like hell but isn't the truth supposed to hurt?
Abe: Sometimes. Lex, you can't help the way you are and sometimes circumstances will define who you are in that moment and what you do. No one's perfect and there will always be things you feel you could've done better. We all wish we could have do-overs. I'm a cop and your a doctor. The mistakes we make can be tragic We just need to learn from the mistakes we do make and hope and pray that we make as little of them as possible.
Lexie: I just feel like Mike and I gave them false hope.
Abe: They knew, Lex. They knew there was a good possibility. His condition was serious from the get-go. It wasn't as if he had a good chance and took a turn for the worse. You did fine, Lex. Trust me.
Lexie: I feel as though I could've done better. I think I can do better.
Abe: Then do better. The thrive to improve and succeed is a great thing to have. I am proud of you for how you are taking control of your life and trying to be the best you can be.

    Lexie looks at Abe stunned.

    Lexie: Proud? Wow...
Abe: Yep. I will always care about you, Lex. We have a son and I love you. I always will.
Lexie: Thank you. Thanks for listening and for the advice. And for caring. You don't know how much I wish I could take back from the last year when it comes to how I treated you. I was horrible.
Abe: Like I said before, we all make mistakes. We can't always get back what we lost or fix the damage done but we can learn. We can take what we learned from our mistakes and grow. Your already doing that, Lexie. That is all that matters.

Lexie thanks Abe and says she needs to be getting back inside. He agrees and says he is going to go check on Kayla. She says she is heading that way to and then walk back inside together.

Meanwhile, Caroline is talking with Marlena, Stephanie, and Adrienne as Hope and Steve stand away in a corner, not wanting to upset anyone. Marlena can't believe Frankie is gone. Stephanie goes over to Max and embraces him, saying she is so sorry. Jack walks over to Steve and asks if he is ok. Steve nods and apologizes to Jack for his loss. He knows him and Frankie were close. Jack points out he knows Steve cared about him too. Steve smiles and says he did but he can't comfort the family. He isn't on their Christmas card list right now. Jack pats him on the back.

Kim wonders how they are going to tell Kayla about Frankie. She will want to know so she can mourn and there is going to be no right time to tell her without her being upset. Lexie, Abe, and Celeste join the crowd. Mike and Rich come out of Kayla's room. Lexie goes over to talk to them. Caroline asks Rich if he thinks Kayla could deal with the stress of Frankie's death. Rich shakes his head, saying the chances aren't good. Caroline puts her head down just as Kayla's voice can be heard.

Mike opens the door and Kayla looks right at everyone outside her room, saying she could see them all out there and asks what is going on. She says they all look like they lost a puppy or something. Everyone is silent. Kayla says she can see something is wrong and knew it when she saw them all out there looking upset and worried. Caroline says they are worried for her.

Kayla says she is fine for the moment and Rich told her she is stable so whatever seems to have upset all of them is not that. They would be happy she is hanging in there right now. Kayla thinks out loud and says there is only one other reason they would all be together and looking so depressed. She asks if Frankie has taken a turn for the worse. Carrie, Belle, and Sami turn away. Bo, Hope, Steve, and Max put their heads down.

Kayla says they are all scaring her. She looks at Caroline, who is fighting back tears. Kayla asks her mother what is going on. Rich tells Lexie to have a team on standby. Caroline is silent. Kayla tells Caroline she knows something bad has happened. She looks at Caroline, who has tears streaming down her face. At that moment, Kayla begins to realize what may be going on and begins to shake her head, saying:

Kayla: No...oh no. Not Frankie. No!!

Caroline and Bo race in to comfort her as Lexie, Rich, and Mike race in, leading a medical team. Caroline takes Kayla in her arms and says she is so sorry as Kayla lets out a bloodcurdling "No!!" Kayla breaks down in her mother's arms as her monitors begin to go off. Rich orders everyone out of the room.

Caroline refuses to leave her daughter but Mike tells Caroline they all have to go. A hysterical Kayla then yells out in pain several times before passing out. Kim wheels out as Bo pulls a worried Caroline out with him. Everyone watches as the team works to save Kayla and her unborn baby as the scene shifts to...

A worried Victor, Maggie, and Billie as they watch Greta, who has yet to move. A nurse comes back. Maggie thinks it's time to move her. Billie shakes her head, saying they should give her more time. The camera then pans over to Greta as (MARIAH CAREY AND BOYS 2 MEN's "ONE SWEET DAY" BEGINS TO PLAY IN THE BACKGROUND.-CLICK HERE TO PLAY AS YOU READ THE FINAL SCENES of the episode montage!!!)

Greta: Your so cold. I don't think the blankets are enough. Maybe...

Greta then gets out of her wheelchair, grimacing in pain as Victor watches and nearly races over but Greta recovers. Greta then lies on the bed with Frankie and runs her fingers through his hair with one hand and puts her other arm around him. Tears well in her eyes once again as she says:

Greta: Is that better? It is, isn't it. I know I feel warmer already. I just want...you to be comfortable.

Greta then looks down at Frankie's face and caresses it with her hand. Tears begin to stream down her face as she lays her head down right next to his and the scene shifts to Mike, Lexie, and Rich working with their team to save Kayla and her unborn child. Rich yells out the blood pressure and heart rate are way too high. Mike yells out they are losing the both of them.

The camera then pans around to Hope praying, Bo and Kim holding hands with Caroline and comforting her, Abby comforting Max, Carrie and Sami looking on in horror along with Belle and Marlena, Celeste trembling as a worried Abe looks at her and she shakes her head and tears stream down her face, Adrienne comforting a distraught Stephanie, and a worried Steve praying he doesn't lose his wife and child as Jack puts his arm around him. Caroline then looks to the heaven's above and says:

Caroline (In tears): Please God...not her too. Shawn...Frankie...help us. Help your sister and her child. Please....

The scene then shifts back to Greta as Victor, Maggie, and Billie watch. Billie and Maggie have tears steaming down their face as they watch Greta hold Frankie in her arms. Greta then sits up and looks at Frankie.

Greta: It wasn't supposed to be like this. We just...we didn't have a chance. We deserved a chance.

Greta begins to break down again.

Greta: How could you do this? How could you leave me? You were supposed to fight! Fight to live. What good is you saving me if you are just going to leave me? With this guilt...with this pain. My life...I feel empty without you. I fell in love with you, Frankie. And my greatest regret...will always be not realizing it sooner. Not telling you before it was too late. So much time...was wasted. This is all my fault. I killed you. You died...saving my meaningless life. You died...you died for me.

Greta then breaks down and begins to pound on Frankie's body.

Greta: YOU DIED FOR ME!! WHY?! WHY?! WHY YOU?! FRANKIE...I LOVE YOU!! I LOVE YOU!!

The camera then pans up for an overheard shot of Greta breaking down laying next to Frankie as MARIAH CAREY AND BOYS 2 MEN's "ONE SWEET DAY" montageends as the scene slowly fades to black.

JANUARY 15, 2008-EPISODE #415: ONE SWEET DAY PART II

    UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Kayla’s family ands friends watch anxiously as the doctors try to save her and her baby’s lives. After learning about her brother’s death, her heart rate and BP are through the roof. After twenty minutes, the three very tired doctors come out and tell everyone that she made it. She just needs to relax and take it easy. When Caroline asks about the baby, Mike says that she lost the baby. Everyone reacts with deep sadness as Stephanie runs out of the room crying and Kimberly says that she will go call the station and get the word to Roman and Lucas.

Stephanie rounds the corner to see Steve walking up. She walks right up to him and lets him have it, blaming him for the baby’s death. Steve is now in shock, not being able to believe that Kayla lost the baby, and Bo walks up behind Stephanie, asking if Steve really even cares. Hope can’t believe Bo even said that as she walks up also but Stephanie truly doesn’t care. She holds the both of them responsible for what has happened to Kayla and the baby.........and Bo tells the both of them that maybe they should just find a hotel room....

And do what they do best.

As Bo walks off, Marlena comes up and stops Hope from once again chasing after him. Stephanie walks off crying as Abby runs after her, having heard the fight. Back in the waiting room, Caroline can’t believe what has happened to her family. She blames herself for the baby’s death and Kimberly tells her that’s silly. It just wasn’t meant to be. Max stares Steve down as he comes into the waiting area and Caroline tells them both that this is no place for any of this.

Max heeds her words and walks off, with Kimberly saying she’ll keep and eye on him. Caroline agrees to go with her and, as they both leave, Jack walks over to Steve. He offers his condolences on the baby and Steve thanks him but says he needs time by himself. Jack understands and pats Steve on the shoulder as he walks off. Steve then goes into Kayla’s room....

And sits down next to her bed. He takes her hand and starts to cry, saying how sorry he is for messing everything up. He promises that he will spend the rest of his life making it up to her.....if she’ll just come back to him. As he breaks down next to her.....

Bo is on the roof. He can barely contain his anger and lashes out by punching a wall. Hope opens the door to the roof right after he punches it and stands there staring at him. Bo looks out over Salem......but can’t bring himself to look at the woman who betrayed him.

Meanwhile, Greta sits outside the morgue. They have just taken Frankie’s body in but will not let her in. Victor and Nico come down and sit with her. Victor takes her hand and tells her that he is there for her but Greta needs a question answered.........

Greta: You know that Nicole was on the roof.
Victor: Yes, that's what I heard.

Sami then wheels up and speaks.......

Sami: Nicole..........why am I not surprised?
Greta: Well.........I think it’s time, that she be dealt with.
Sami: Greta........I think I have to agree with you.

Victor tells Nico to get some people on it and find Nicole Brady..........right now.

Maggie and Billie then walk up as Nico leaves and Billie says that maybe Greta should go back to her room. Sami and Maggie both agree but Greta says she’s not leaving until she can see Frankie one more time. Victor tells her it is against hospital policy to allow her in and Greta lashes out, saying that University Hospital policy is a joke. She tries to get out of her wheelchair and Maggie, Sami and Victor try and stop her. Greta fights them as Sami gets a nurse......

And after sedating her, Greta is taken back to her room.

A couple of hours later, Maggie and Billie sit with Greta as Sami then comes into her room. Billie says that she needs to go and gets up and leaves. Sami and Maggie look at each other but what Billie doesn’t want them to know is that everything is starting to truly weigh her down. As she leaves, she can’t help but fight a very strong urge that she has had lately....

And that is the urge to drink.

Back in Greta’s room, she sleeps peacefully and dreams of Frankie and her in a beautiful field. He is wearing all white, as she is, and he tells her that he is ok. He’s at peace now. With a big smile on his face, Greta asks him if he came back just to tell her that and he says he thinks so. He just got to where he is right now and is just amazed at how beautiful it is.

He then tells her that one day.......they will be reunited. Greta smiles upon hearing this and says that she will always have him in her heart. It belongs to him. Frankie tells her how much he loves her and tells her to take care. He’ll be there when she truly needs him. As he fades away, Greta stirs in her sleep and keeps whispering his name........

As the scene pans on her tear-stained face and slowly fades to black.

She leaves to be with Claire and, while with her, promises Claire that once Mimi has the baby she will be back with her daddy. She is sure they are meant to be and since they have her they will always be connected. She understands and admits that it is that kind of devotion and loving nature that attracts her to him. Roman is flattered and says that it is her fun-loving personality and the caring, emotional side of her that makes him attracted to her. He thanks her for everything she has down for him as she does the same but says that she wishes that he would talk to her about everything that has happened and let everything he is holding back out. Roman warns her again to stop trying to get him to be some sort of wimp and make him break down. That isn’t him and he needs to be the rock his family needs to get through this. Bonnie agrees once again to back off, noticing how agitated Roman is getting. Roman then gets a call. Its Bo and he tells Roman that the search for Chelsea and Patrick has been called off. He reassures Mimi again that he is devoted to her and will be there for her for everything. Mimi asks him what he will do once the baby is born. Before Shawn can answer, Bonnie and Roman arrive. Bonnie urges Mimi to be calm for her baby and then gives her the news about Patrick. Roman tells Shawn about Chelsea but Shawn doesn’t even care. He says he barely knew her and from what he did know of her he didn’t like her. Mimi and Bonnie comfort each other as Bonnie says she is proud of Mimi for being so strong. Mimi says she knew there was little hope but at least now Patrick is at peace. She laments that he would have been a great uncle. Bonnie agrees and says that she will miss him. Roman comforts her as Shawn comforts Mimi. Mimi urges Shawn to go be with his family right now. Even though he didn’t like Chelsea, his father will need him and his mother will too given what is happening with JT. He is reluctant but agrees. He asks if he can tell his parents about the baby since they could use the good news. Mimi agrees to let him since it will make everyone so happy. Roman decides to go with him as Bonnie stays with Mimi. She tells her that everything will be ok now and that she has won Shawn.. Mimi still feels bad about Patrick but Bonnie just urges Mimi to be happy and that if she makes sure she is, he will be happy too. She leaves to go tell Connor what happened as Mimi tells herself that Patrick is watching over her and that he will make sure everything works out for her.

-Carrie is walking through the park. She comments on how shocked she was that she got the interview so fast and the job. She thinks its because of her relation to the CEO even though she didn’t want any special treatment and didn’t want anyone she knows to know. She then decides to call someone and let them know. She calls Marlena and asks how John is doing. She fills her in (this happens before she goes to sleep by the way) and then Carrie tells her about her company being taken over. Figuring the truth will come out anyway, she tells Marlena Austin was behind it and about Lucas knowing about it too. Marlena is shocked but Carrie says that he has changed and that she doesn’t care anymore. She is starting fresh and has moved in with Caroline until she is on her feet. She tells her she just got a new job. Marlena is shocked when she says its at Basic Black. Carrie informs Marlena that while Kate and John are out of the office, the Human Resource manager took her call and brought her in immediately for an interview. She figures it was because of who she was even though he said it was due to her experience. Marlena is happy for her and urges Carrie to call or talk to her whenever she needs her. She says that John will be real happy. The hangup as Carrie says that there will be no more looking back. From now on, she is looking forward without Austin, Mike, or Lucas. In LA, Nicole is at HighStyle as all the employees are beginning to pack up and move out. Nicole is drinking champaigne and is a little drunk. She is bashing the CEO and the employees for their lackluster performance and blames that as the reason why they are all out of jobs. Nicole then looks on a desk and can’t believe what she finds. It’s a picture of Austin. Nicole looks under all the paperwork and finally learns the truth-that Carrie is the CEO. Meanwhile, Sami and Austin return home and await word from Nicole in LA. Sami continues to wonder what is going on with Carrie, as does Austin. The both remember that she has been upset since getting that call just before midnight at the New Year’s party. They wonder who was on the phone and what the call was about. They then get a call from Nicole but there is a lot of static. Nicole tells them that the takeover is almost complete and that she now knows who the CEO is and they won’t believe it. The phone then goes dead as Nicole is about to them. She calls again but they continue to have issues so Nicole decides to just tell Austin when she gets back, deciding that she wants to be there to tell him since it will take Carrie out of the fight for Austin’s heart just like Lucas said it would on New Year’s. Austin agrees and they both agree to see each other when she gets back and the takeover is final. The hangup as Nicole is full of glee now that Carrie will be out of the way. All she has to do is get rid of Sami and Austin is hers and says that now Sami and her won’t need to team up to get rid of Carrie. Sami and Austin are disappointed they couldn’t hear what Nicole was saying but they will find out when she gets back. They both continue to wonder who the CEO is that did such a bad job and why Carrie is acting so strange, not realizing that both are connected.

-Lucas is in his apartment and his drinking is out of control. He keeps reminding himself of everything that he has lost in his life and all the bad things that have happened to him. He feels lonely and like an outsider and just can’t take it. He is about to call Maggie to help him deal with falling off the wagon but decides not to and goes back to drinking. Meanwhile, Maggie continues her downward spiral and is drinking at a rapid pace. She keeps blaming herself for Mickey’s and Shawn’s death and telling herself that she is serving her punishment and dealing with her pain and shame the only way she can. She considers calling Lucas for help to try to stop her since she is too weak and in too much pain to do so herself but doesn’t and returns to drinking.

-Hope is in JT’s room. Jen, Alice, Doug, Julie, and now Frankie (he is serving as Hope’s lawyer for when the Reiber’s attorney arrives) and Caroline are there. Caroline heard what was going on and wanted to be there for Hope. She was also lonely at the pub. They all say a group prayer once again for JT. Bo and Billie arrive at the hospital. Billie thinks she should go but Bo says he doesn’t want her alone given everything that has happened. She breaks down in his arms again as Bo comforts her. Billie blames herself for sending both Patrick and Chelsea on that trip and to their deaths but Bo insists its not her fault just like its not Maggie’s fault about what happened to his pop and Mickey. They go to JT’s room where Roman, Max, Abby, and Shawn have also joined everyone. They are shocked to see Bo holding a distraught Billie. Bo announces the news about Chelsea and Patrick as everyone else says that Roman already told them. Bo is shocked when everyone feels more worse about Patrick them about Chelsea. He calls them all on it as Hope says that Patrick may have been a little shady but he saved a lot of people’s lives on the island and when they rescued Victor and Caroline last summer. Hope admits its hard to grieve Chelsea right now given everything that has happened and her role in it. Bo can’t believe that everyone is blaming Chelsea. Caroline says that she really doesn’t blame Chelsea and actually blames herself for letting Shawn go out in the storm. Everyone begs her not to think that way. Jen and Alice don’t blame Chelsea either but everyone else. With the exception of Max and Abby who are holding each other and comforting each other over the news, does and each goes on their personal tirade to bash Chelsea and her irresponsible and reckless behavior. They all also blame Bo, Billie, and Kate for spoiling her and letting her get away with everything. Bo looks at Hope and everyone else and can’t believe what he is hearing. Hope says that the accident may have still happened but Chelsea’s car was speeding and out of control and was the car that started the pileup. Its hard to look past that and not blame her. Bo says that if Hope hadn’t agreed with Billie about sending Chelsea on the trip it may not have happened either. Hope is appalled they are trying to put this on her and then she throws it back at them saying that they wouldn’t have had to even talk about sending her with Patrick on a trip if it weren’t for Bo, Billie, and Kate and their bad parenting. Billie then explodes with anger and verbally attacks everyone in the room saying that Shawn was a screwup too but they let it go but because it was her daughter that screwed up they are blaming her for everything and her and Bo and her mother for being bad parents. Shawn is enraged too saying his actions were not because of his parents and that he was an adult making his own decisions. Chelsea was only 18. Roman and Frankie try to calm everyone down along with Caroline and Alice. Billie thinks that she should go as Hope agrees saying that if JT dies there will be more blood on Chelsea’s hands and it will all be because of her being a spoiled brat. Bo takes offense too saying that Hope is attacking him as a father as well. Hope ignores him as Billie leaves in tears. Bo starts to follow her but then stops and looks at Hope and everyone else. Hope says that he needs to make another choice. Hope says, “Will you choose Billie and your daughter again or will you choose me and your family and former son? I think its time to balance things out Bo since its always been Billie and your daughter. Well, now I need you. Your family needs you more then ever right now. You have been there for Billie and can go back to her later but we need you now Bo. What will it be? Billie or me?” Everyone in the room is focused on Bo as the screen freezes on a torn Bo’s face and then fades to black.

    On the Next Days...

Maggie has a dream where Mickey visits her. A drunk Phillip confronts Belle and then makes a shocking decision. A lonely, drunk, and depressed Lucas considers suicide. Billie realizes that what everyone is saying about her is true. The Reiber’s attorney has big news for the Brady’s as JT takes a turn for the worse.

JANUARY 16, 2008-EPISODE #416: WHAT HURTS THE MOST

    UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Up on the roof, the tension is palpable between Bo and Hope. Bo's back is turned toward Hope as she begs Bo to please look at her, as tears well in her eyes. Hope tells Bo she just wants to talk. Bo tells Hope there is nothing left to say. She already said it all on New Year's and gave her explanation. Hope asks if he believed it, pointing out it doesn't seem like he did.

Bo: Can you blame me? All those lies, Hope. How do I know what was true and what wasn't?
Hope: Bo, how long have you known me? How long have your known Steve? You can't seriously think we could fall for each other and have an affair out of the blue like that without extenuating circumstances.
Bo: Ah, yes. You and Steve getting lost in the past. Give me a break!!
    Hope: Bo! Please!!
Bo: Please what? Look, Hope. I don't have time to deal with you and your pathetic attempt to try to sway me right now. I have enough to deal with.
Hope: I know but we need to talk and...
Bo: Now?! My family is in shambles. Roman is in jail! Frankie is dead! Kayla just lost her child! And all your worried about is you and me!
Hope: I'm sorry! I just want to be there for you. I want to fix this!
Bo: It's too late for that. You and Steve may not have killed Frankie or Kayla's child but you put Nicole in the situation she was in. Your lies and your deceit gave her the ammunition. She was only at that reception...up on that roof...because you and Steve did what you did. Not to mention all the stress that Kayla had to deal with finding out what you two did and how you both kept the truth about Chelsea from Billie and I. Damnit, Hope! Do you see how many lives are a mess right now?
Hope (crying): I know! I know!
Bo: Do you? Did you ever consider that this whole mess would !@#$%^&*] with so many people's lives? This isn't just about you and me. It's not even about Steve and Kayla. Billie, Greta, my family...so many lives, Hope. You can't fix this. It's just too much.
    Hope: We can try.
Bo: There is no "we." I love this! It's hilarious!
    Hope: What?
Bo: You? A tad hypocritical, don't you think? A year ago, you gave me hell when I chose to keep the truth about my undercover operation with Roman from you, as well as my molestation. Remember that? What was my reasoning? Ah, yes. Because I was trying to protect you. You were going through alot. We all were. The same damn reasoning you are giving me after what you have done now. I detect a double standard, don't you?

Bo's words silence Hope as she wipes tears from her eyes and has no idea what to say. The scene then shifts to...

A waiting area where Abe, Lexie, and Celeste are talking. Abe tells Celeste he knew that Celeste knew what was already going to happen as Lexie and the doctors were trying to save Kayla and her baby. He thinks she did the right thing holding back and not saying anything, just like she did when Frankie was dying. Celeste nods, saying as long as she knew there was no stopping it, there was no sense in making an announcement. It would only make things worse. Lexie agrees.

Abe looks at his watch and says it's very late. Celeste agrees, pointing out Theo is still with the sitter and they should be getting back. Lexie says she has to check on some patients but tells Abe to tell Theo she will pick him up in the morning. Abe nods. Lexie thinks Abe for everything, including the advice earlier. He smiles and nods. Celeste tells Lexie how happy she is that things are ok between all three of them now. Lexie agrees. Celeste embraces her, saying she will kiss Theo goodnight for her. Lexie thanks her and the three then walk off and go their separate ways as the scene shifts to...

Outside of Greta's room, where Jack is walking up and sees Billie near the elevators. He yells out to her. Billie seems a bit shaky and upset and Jack asks where she is going and then if she is ok, noticing she seems a bit frantic. Billie says she is fine. She reminds Jack of how he found her this morning and says she is exhausted and wants to try to get some sleep. Jack nods and asks if she is sure she is fine. Billie tells him she will be. Jack points out that he knows she is going through alot and he just wants to make sure she is ok. Billie thanks him for his concern but says she is fine and will check in tomorrow. She bids him good night and tells him to give her best wishes to Greta and everyone else. Billie enters the elevator and it closes shortly after.

Jack then enters Greta's room, where Victor and Maggie are sitting. He asks them if something happened to upset Billie. Victor shakes his head, saying she seemed a bit upset but who wouldn't given what happened. He adds that she said she had to go. Jack agrees and says she is probably just tired or something. He then suggests Victor and Maggie go home and get some sleep or something to eat. Victor doesn't want to leave Greta but Jack suggests they at least go home and change. Maggie thinks it's a good idea, saying they could use some cleaning up and something to eat. Jack promises Victor he will stay with Greta and will call if something happens. Victor reluctantly agrees and thanks Jack. Maggie does so as well. Jack says it's no problem and Victor and Maggie leave while Jack sits down, takes Greta's hand, and tells his friend that he is here for her and that he will help her through this. He then hears Greta in her sleep, seemingly dreaming about being with Frankie, and saying that Nicole will pay for what she did to Frankie. Jack looks on with worry as the scene then shifts to...

Kayla's room, where Steve is wiping away tears, saying to Kayla he is so sorry. Kayla then begins to stir, shocking Steve. Kayla is a bit disoriented and asks what happened. Steve doesn't answer. Kayla looks at him and is stunned to see him. She then mentions how weak she feels. Steve tells Kayla she is going to be fine and that the doctors said she just needs to rest. She will make a full recovery. Kayla asks how the baby is doing. Steve is silent again. Kayla looks at him and can see the pain in his eyes. Kayla begins to realize something is horribly wrong and asks Steve again, as her eyes fill with tears, how the baby is doing. Steve sighs and then tries to say something but just can't seem to get any words out. All Steve can do is shake his head in sadness and finally say:

Steve: I'm sorry, Sweetness. So sorry.

Kayla then lets out a bloodcurdling "NO!!" and breaks down in tears. Steve tries to comfort a hysterical Kayla, who is in disbelief over losing their baby. All Kayla can say over and over is:

Kayla: Not our baby! Not our baby!

Steve does his best to console her but is unable to offer much comfort. Kayla asks how this happened and then recalls learning about Frankie. Kayla realizes it was all the stress of learning about him that pushed her over the edge. Steve says he is so sorry for all that she has lost, saying she nor her family deserve this. Kayla is in disbelief over her baby and Frankie being gone.

Kayla: How could God take them both? Why?!
Steve: I wish I knew, Sweetness.

Stephanie then walks in with Adrienne and demands to know what the hell Steve is doing in Kayla's room. Steve says he needed to see her and was just comforting her. Stephanie says she can do that and orders him to leave, saying he is doing no one no good. Adrienne tells Stephanie to back off but Kayla interrupts and says:

Kayla: ENOUGH!! A child is dead! Frankie is dead!!
    Stephanie: Sorry, mom.
    Steve: Yeah. Sorry.
Kayla: She is right though. Why are you here, Steve?
Steve: I just wanted to be there for you. I wanted to...
    Kayla: Get out.
    Steve: What?
Kayla: GET OUT!! I DON'T WANT YOU HERE!! YOUR PART OF THE REASON THIS HAPPENED!! YOU!! HOPE!! YOUR LIES!!
Steve: Sweetness...please...understand the situation. You were letting me hold you before.
Kayla: I'm a mess right now, Steve, I can barely think! You already explained the situation...with Hope. As for what happened on the roof, Nicole may have been the instigator but you and Hope gave her the opportunity. God!! I can't even look at you without thinking about Frankie. About our baby!!
    Steve: Kayla...I...
Kayla: No! Just leave! Please...not now. I can't do this now. I'm tired. I just...it's too soon. There is too much...hurt. Just go.
    Steve: Kayla...
Kayla: GO!! GET OUT!! GET OUT!!

Kayla breaks down as Adrienne tells Steve they better go as Stephanie pushes him away and orders him out, trying to console her mother. A heartbroken Steve finally backs off and walks out with Kayla but not without looking back and seeing Stephanie comfort a distraught Kayla as the scene shifts back to...

The roof as Hope tells Bo she doesn't know what to say.

Bo: There is usually a penalty for repeat offenders. You know that. And this is not the first time this has happened. Remember you and John...I mean, my brother, Roman? You had sex with him and Stefano on that submarine. For awhile, you thought one of them fathered Zack and kept the truth from me for months. That was hard enough but I was able to get past that. Sure, the brain chip nonsense helped but the lies still hurt. I was able to forgive you, though, because you had never done anything like that before. Now, it's different. No brain chips this time and even if I buy the extenuating circumstances BS, there is still the matter of the lies and THEY hurt the most, Hope.
Hope: I know. We had trust issues before. As long as we love each other, we can get through this.
Bo: Not this time. This situation shows you learned nothing from the first time you did this. And the fact that you expect me to be lenient after the hell you gave me for doing the same DAMN thing a year ago...I can't do this right now. My family needs me. I have to go and take mom and Kim home. We have things to do and to think about.
Hope: I know but don't give up on us. Please!
Bo: What "us?" Right now, I don't see anything left.
Hope: I know things are bad but after all we have been through...I just thought I was doing what was best..we both did.
    Bo: You ASSUMED you were.
Hope: And so did you, Brady!! Last year...oh, and what about Zack, huh? That was a nasty lie too, was it not?
Bo: I can't believe you just...
Hope: I know...I'm sorry. It was uncalled for. I just want to make you understand...
Bo: Mistakes were made on both sides, Hope. I know that. But don't try to excuse what you did by using the past. This is different. Many more lives were affected...I just don't see any excuse for this. No "out" for you and Steve. Nothing.
    Hope: So, what? That's it?
Bo: I have to go so just have your stuff packed and be out of the house before I come back.
    Hope: You were serious before...
Bo: Yes. Leave JT with the sitter and don't draw attention to yourself. We don't need the neighbors talking. We can talk in the morning about him. You can go to the new house Victor gave us.
Hope: But, he's your father? Won't that be...
Bo: Just go, alright. I don't have time to move my stuff right now so you go. I just...can't have you around so just do it, ok?

Hope is in disbelief and asks Bo if he is really sure. Bo doesn't answer and coldly tells her to go home and pack. Hope, fighting back tears, says she loves him and always will. Bo is silent and turns away. Hope then slowly walks off as RASCAL FLATTS' WHAT HURTS THE MOST (CLICK HERE TO PLAY FOR THE END MONTAGE) begins to be heard and a montage begins....

Hope looks back as tears stream down her face and she then finally leaves the roof as the scene focuses on an angry Bo looking out over the city as the scene fades to...Stephanie comforting Kayla. Both woman are in tears as Adrienne and Steve watch. Steve can't bare to see the pain his wife and daughter are in and begins to cry himself. Adrienne takes her brother in her arms and embraces him as Stephanie holds her mother in her arms and looks on at Steve and Adrienne from inside Kayla's room.

The scene then fades to...Billie, walking the streets of Salem, telling herself repeatedly she doesn't need a drink. She sees a liquor store across the street and is drawn to it, hesitating a few times before making her way across. She looks in the window and then walks off. After a few moments, she stops and begins to turn back, hesitating a few times. She looks in the window once more as the scene fades to...Greta's room. Jack is sitting with her when Greta stirs. She takes one look at Jack and falls apart once again. Jack takes a crying Greta in his arms and comforts her, saying he's there for her and assuring her it will be ok as the scene fades back to...Bo on the roof, looking over the city skyline. He then begins to wipe tears from his eyes as the scene fades to... Hope in JT's room. She kisses his forehead and then slowly walks off. The scene then shifts to...moments later as Hope is outside her house in tears, looking at the house longingly, and then walking off as the scene fades to...

Billie, who is now in her P.I. office and is popping the top off a liquor bottle. She hesitates a few times before pouring herself a glass. She then hesitates yet again before picking up the glass, her hands trembling. A few moments later, she finally gives in and drinks...and then plops down into her chair, breaking down in tears as the scene fades to...Greta's room as Jack holds Greta in his arms, comforting her and rocking her back and forth as the camera pans to an overhead shot of the scene and then fades to black as the RASCAL FLATTS' WHAT HURTS THE MOST montage ends.

    1/17/06

-Belle is with Claire in the ICU when she sees Phillip outside. He was brought there because he was injured in a bar fight last night and sustained a concussion and several bruises and cuts. The police let him off with a warning because of who he is. Belle tries to help him and apologizes again but Phillip lashes out at her again and says he will never believe her or anyone else again. He is down being the nice guy since they always finish last. Belle is shocked to discover Phillip is still drinking and has a bottle of liquor on him. She warns him that she won’t let him near Claire with that but Phillip doesn’t care. He wants nothing to do with the spawn of Shawn and her. Belle refuses to believe that and believes Phillip will always love Claire. She tells Phillip that he can be her godfather now. Phillip tears into her and says that he always finishes last. He did for Chloe and now for her and Claire. He runs off as Belle goes back in to be with Claire and vows to help Phillip get past this and to get Shawn back once Mimi has the baby.

-Mimi is fantasizing about Shawn and her baby in her room. She then has a nightmare and screams out that she can’t lose her baby because then she will lose Shawn. Phillip is walking by when he hears this and says that Mimi will lose Shawn just like he lost Belle because those two will never get over each other and him and Mimi always finish last. Mimi tries to help Phillip too but he won’t have it. He said he knows no one cares as she denies that. He says he will never be the nice guy again. Mimi is stunned to find out he was in a fight and that he is still drunk. She tries once more to get through to him but he ignores her pleas. He warns her to get out Shawn’s life now before she ends up like him. Mimi tells Phillip she is pregnant. Phillip is stunned and says that she may have a shot but still likely won’t beat Belle for Shawn’s heart. Mimi reminds Phillip that he is still married to Belle and she can’t do anything until she divorces him. Phillip looks intrigued and wonders if maybe he can use that to get his revenge on those that hurt him. Its time that he embrace his Kiriakis name and stop being a doormat. He remembers what his father was like in his past and decides that is the way to go to get what he wants. He leaves as Mimi continues to worry about the baby and losing Shawn. Phillip ends up outside and drinking some more. He decides that he needs to get out of Salem for awhile to think everything over so that when he returns he can have a new life and everyone will see the “new” Phillip. He will then gets his revenge. He can’t go home and get a car because someone will find out he took one and left and he can’t travel by plane, train, or bus because someone will find out. He wants to leave and doesn’t want anyone to know he did or where he is, figuring no one cares anyway but still. He sees a car in the lot and figures he can just use his Kiriakis name and influence to get out of trouble like his dad. He starts to wonder why he didn’t think if that sooner. He breaks the window of the passenger seat and climbs in. He remembers learning how to hotwire a car and does so. He takes off in the car, still intoxicated and continuing to drink since he could care less what happens or if he is caught since he can always find a way out due to who he is.

-Billie runs outside in tears. She flashes back to the many times Bo, her, and Kate gave into Chelsea and to the dispute over whether she should go with Patrick on the trip that happened between her, Hope, and Bo. She keeps hearing the words of Hope and all the others blaming Chelsea and realizes they are all right. She was a horrible mother while she had the chance and Chelsea would have been better off never finding out who her parents really were. She breaks down in tears wondering how she will ever get over this and how she will ever live with dealing with the anger and rage everyone feels towards her daughter and how she was raised.

-Bo decides to stay with Hope. Hope acts shocked and so does everyone else (Alice, Doug, Julie, Shawn, Caroline, Roman, Jen, Frankie, Max, and Abby are all there still). They start arguing again over Chelsea and Billie as Hope claims he only chose to be with her because he felt he had to. The Reiber’s attorney comes in and introduces himself as John Lockran. Frankie introduces himself as the Brady’s attorney. He is a little appalled at all the arguing and tension and says he isn’t sure if this is the right atmosphere for a child. Hope asks if that means that JT is being returned to Bo and her. He urges her to bare with him and thanks them for being there and gets right to the point. He explains how the Reiber’s had a will made up and how there little boy, Greg, would be raised by some cousins of theirs in Nevada. However, they did not want anyone in his family raising JT. They knew he had another family and they wanted JT to be with the Brady’s so it is there wish that should he survive he returns to Bo and Hope Brady. Everyone rejoices and hugs each other. Bo and Hope hug but the tension is still there. Frankie goes outside with Mr. Lockran to work out the details and paperwork. Just then, JT’s machines go berserk and the doctor and nurses rush in and push everyone out. Hope lashes out at Bo and says if JT dies just when they got him back its on his daughter’s head and on his and Billie’s. Bo is appalled by this again but keeps quiet. The doctor comes out and informs Bo and Hope that they think JT may need a new heart. His current one from birth is far to damaged and his recent accident has put lots of stress on it and caused more damage. Hope is devastated and again looks at Bo. The doctor goes to run more tests but is sure in his diagnosis. They will begin to look for donors right away. Frankie comes out and says he has some papers for them to sign. Hope signs them and looks at Bo, who signs as well. He tells Hope that this is good for the family as Hope warns him that if JT dies he knows who is too blame. Max and Abby comfort each other and are horrified thinking that Chelsea played a large part in all this pain and suffering. Alice, Doug, and Julie comfort each other as do Jen and Frankie as she thanks him for helping Bo and Hope. He vows to be there for his family and for her. They hug. Roman comforts Caroline who believes Shawn is watching over the family and that everything will be ok. Shawn embraces his mother and decides to tell her and everyone else the good news figuring they may need it right now while they wait. Mimi is having his baby. The family is happy for him and think this is a sign that things will be alright. The doctor returns and says they are sure that JT needs a new heart and soon or he won’t make it. Hope breaks down while staring at Bo as Bo looks on guiltily.

-Lucas continues getting hammered and his depression is getting worse. He keeps on remembering all he has lost and the loneliness he feels. He wonders if anyone would miss him if he was gone and decides that maybe that is the way to go. He knows Will would but even he is MIA and, since he always loses and is abandoned by everyone he loves and cares about, he most likely won’t be back. Its just the way his life has been. He wishes he had died in that fire nearly 5 years ago. He snaps out of this a little and decides to call Maggie but no one answers (Maggie is ignoring it and is passed out while Zach tries to wake her but fails). He says that now no one is here for him and even admits his surprise that Alice hasn’t been around for him or even called to check on him. He goes back to drinking and his suicidal thoughts get intense. He drinks the rest of the bottle of beer he bought off the neighbors, along with the other liquor he drank, and takes his keys and leaves. He gets in his car and decides that he has nothing to lose now and that its all over for him. He just needs to find the perfect place to go away for good so no one can stop him. It doesn’t even matter that he is drunk and behind a wheel. He drives off in the car looking for a place to end it all.

-Maggie is at home drinking still when the doorbell rings. She tries to ignore it but it doesn’t go away. She decides to answer it to get rid of the person. Its Mrs. Morrison and Zach. She has a family emergency and needs to leave Zach with her. She apologizes since she knows Maggie is having a rough time but no one else that Hope mentioned as people who could take Zach in emergencies are around and she did try calling Maggie but no one picked up. She notices Maggie’s disheveled look smells the alcohol. She asks if Maggie is drunk. Maggie insists that she isn’t (not wanting anyone to know what she is doing) and that she got so upset about Mickey that she knocked over a bunch of liquor bottles and got it all over her. She says she would never throw away her sobriety. Maggie tries to get out of taking Zach but Mrs. Morrison is in a hurry and thanks Maggie and apologizes again but she really needs to go and its too far to take him to be with Hope at the hospital and no one else in the area is around. She leaves. Zach notices something is wrong with Maggie and asks if she is ok. She ignores him as a sad Zach asks if she wants to play gold fish. She still ignores him and finally puts the TV on in the living room and tells him to just sit down and watch cartoons. She goes back to drinking and convinces herself Zach is old enough to watch himself. She then passes out (this is where Lucas calls and gets no answer even though Zach tries to wake Maggie up to answer but she doesn’t get up) and has a visit from Mickey in a dream. He is disappointed in her for falling off the wagon and tells her not to blame herself. Maggie does though and says she needs to be punished and to deal with the pain and drinking does both those things. He tells her he loves her and that they will be together someday but the woman she is being right now is not his Maggie. Meanwhile, after the phone stops ringing from Lucas’s call, Zach wonders of Maggie is sleeping and that is why she didn’t hear the phone. He is bored and wants to play and then starts getting scared when Maggie still doesn’t get up. He wants his mon and dad so he decides to find them and says he knows the way home. He will just go there and wait for them and tell them to help Maggie, who he thinks is “sick” since she won’t wake up. He opens the door (which Maggie left unlocked) and walks out. In her dream, Mickey tells Maggie that the woman he loved wouldn’t be so irresponsible with Zach and wouldn’t just ignore him and stick him in a room to watch cartoons. Maggie begins to realize she is wrong and Mickey begins to fade in her dream. He says they will meet again and begs her to be the woman he loves again. She then slowly wakes up but is still out of it and quite drunk. She is very dizzy and gets up. She keeps saying that Mickey is right and she needs to stop what she is doing. It wasn’t her fault and she needs to stop drinking to punish herself and get over everything. Someone else could get hurt, like Zach. She goes to check on him and panics when she can’t find him anywhere. She checks inside and outside and figures he left the house since she left the doors unlocked. She is still very drunk and disoriented but decides she needs to find Zach so he doesn’t get hurt and so no one learns about her actions but more so to protect Zach. She gets in her car, figuring it’s the quickest way to find him and her drunkenness is making her real shaky and panicky. She pulls out and drives off to search for him as we notice her car swerving while going down her street as the screen fades to black.

    On the next Days...

Another tragic accident occurs and leads to a huge mystery. Claire’s health begins to decline rapidly. The Brady’s and Horton’s band together and pray for a miracle for JT as Bo hopes one happens to save his marriage and family. Kate comforts Billie.

    JANUARY 17, 2008-EPISODE #417: WHAT TO DO?

    BO AND HOPE'S NEW HOUSE

After Hope called them to come over, Doug and Julie stop by with Alice. They see Hope has been crying most of the night and Doug remarks about how she looks like she has gotten no sleep. Julie asks her what’s wrong and Hope tells her that after a huge fight, Bo not only knows about her and Steve.......but that he is now staying at the mansion. They have separated and it’s all her fault. As she breaks down in Julie’s arms.....

    KIRIAKIS MANSION

Bo walks downstairs into the study. Victor is looking out the window and turns to look, remarking that it’s about time Bo woke up. Bo says he was really tired for some reason and Victor tells him that when one comes down from a lot of anger, that usually wipes them out. As a maid brings Bo breakfast, he starts chowing it down with all speed and Victor tries to talk to him............

Victor: I received a phone call from the Chief Of Police in St. Louis City. He says he got a phone call from the sheriff of a little town called Joplin in Missouri. They found five people in the town.....dead. Looks like the work of our man, Michael Myers.
Bo: Damn. I thought we were done with that.
Victor: Bo, my guess is that we’ll be done with that when he’s dead.
    Bo: If that is possible.
Victor: I have a question. Is your marriage dead?

After Bo pauses, he wipes his mouth with a napkin, looks back down at his plate, and says........

    Bo: Ask Hope.
Victor: I’m asking you. You shouldn’t be so hard on her.
Bo: Look here, old man. Don’t tell me what I have the right to be mad about. She slept with my best friend.
Victor: I know that.......and by the way, don’t ever talk to me like that again.

Both men look at each other as Victor walks over. He sits down next to Bo, saying to him.....

Victor: I know how it feels to love someone from afar and give in to passion.
    Bo: You mean Ma, right?
Victor: Yes, son. What happened with those two was a by-product of the hell Stefano put them through.
Bo: Still makes it very wrong, Victor.
Victor: I know. And you’re right.......they have to live with what they have done for a very long time. I’m just saying not to throw everything away based on how angry you are now.
Bo: Ok. Ok. I’ll listen to what you have to say........but for right now, I’m staying here. To be honest, I can’t even stand to look at that woman’s face.
    Victor: Fair enough.

Victor then stands up and goes to his desk to answer his phone. When he gets through talking, he tells Bo that Nico and some men have a be-line on Nicole. She was on the roof the night Frankie fell and needs to be dealt with. Bo then says that when she's found.......she will do some serious time. Victor says that she just may not make it to a jail cell. Bo disagrees, saying this is a matter for the law. Victor disagrees as well, saying that after what she did and the fact that one brother is dead and the other is being transferred to the state prison....he doesn’t have much faith in the law. And, Victor says, since he is the head of the family.......

What he says........goes. Period. He also says that Nicole will be found....

And dealt with, accordingly. As Bo looks at Victor stoically, the scene fades to.....

    UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Outside of Kayla’s room, where Adrienne tells Steve that Kayla and their marriage will be ok. He thanks her for that and then walks toward Kayla’s room. As he slowly opens the door, he can hear Stephanie tell a sleeping Kayla that everything is Steve’s fault.....and she will never forgive him. He looks at both Kayla and Stephanie and then quietly closes the door, telling Adrienne he needs time by himself as he walks off.

    SALEM POLICE STATION

Philip and Belle end up bumping into each other as they both go to see Lucas and Roman. Neither says a word and they just look at each other as Marlena, Carrie and Sami then walk up. Marlena says she will go clear Roman’s visit with them all before he heads to the state prison and, as she walks in, Roman is being brought in. They hug each other lovingly as Marlena is shocked at how Roman looks. He says he hasn’t slept most of the night.

He keeps having these dreams........but everything is so jumbled. He remembered the meeting he had with Abe the morning after Orpheus blew up their house.......and then he remembers being strapped down in some room somewhere, with Stefano standing over him. He says everything is just a fog. Marlena thinks it’s stress from everything that has happened the past year and it’s his defenses trying to protect him.

Outside, Kate walks up and asks why Sami is there. Sami says she has just as much right to be there as Kate does. Kate says she is the reason why Lucas is in the trouble he’s in, which makes Sami respond......

Sami: For once, just once........could you NOT blame everything on everyone else but yourself?!

Carrie and Belle tell them both to stop it and Philip asks Kate if he will have to drag her out of there himself. He then says that both Lucas and Roman are being moved upstate and the last thing they both need is her selfish crap right now. Kate is silent for a few moments and then says that, for the good of the two men.......she will stop with her nonsense. As Kateif anyone has heard from Billie, Will walks up and says it’s about time they stopped fighting.

Patricia then comes up and says that it’s a red letter day for her.....a Horton and a Brady at the same time. Sami asks her if she has a heart at all......or did she sell it, along with her body, during law school? Patricia looks at her and quietly but sternly says that she earned everything she has gotten in her life and her career. Belle asks if that includes getting into bed with Stefano DiMera......so to speak. Patricia says she won’t stand there and take any of that.....

And Marlena then walks out, saying she will take exactly what they dish out. The Horton's and the Brady's are a united front and Patricia is about to find that out. Patricia asks if Marlena if she is threatening her and Marlena responds......

Marlena: If one hair on my husband’s head is even out of place after he is released from there......I will hit you with a lawsuit so big, you will have to street walk to pay me off, got that?!
    Patricia: Marlena, I.........
Marlena: Don’t stutter! Just turn around and get the hell out of my eyesight!

Patricia stalks off angrily as Will says how proud he is of his grandmother. Kate says that she surely doesn’t want to cross Marlena and Marlena then turns and looks at her, saying......

Marlena: Do yourself a favor.......clean the wax out of your ears and listen to me very carefully.

As everyone is shocked by Marlena’s demeanor, Sami is trying her best not to start laughing at Kate, because she knows what’s about to come....

Marlena: When it comes to my children......and my man......I am the biggest bitch in this city! And, if anyone......ANYONE!.......tries to hurt them, they will end up face down in the Illinois river, do I make myself clear?
    Kate: Crystal.

Marlena then tells her family to come into the waiting room and say god-bye to Roman, as Philip and Kate wait outside in the hallway.

Inside the room, Roman looks over to see his family and can barely hold back tears. Everyone tries to hug him at the same time and he holds Belle in one arm and Sami in the other, as he says.....

Roman: Look. I’ll be ok. Victor pulled some strings for the both of us and we’ll be apart from general population. It won’t be a picnic but I think we’ll be safe like that. All I want you all to do......is watch after your mom and each other. And we’ll be together again.....real soon.

Roman wipes away tears and everyone is crying as the guard knocks on the door. He comes in and tells Roman that it’s almost time. As his daughters and grandson all say good-bye and leave one at a time, Marlena walks up to him once again and he tells her....

Roman: Do me a favor.......make sure that Alice can make those donuts with a file in them.
Marlena: I’ll get on that right now. You take care of yourself, and remember.......how much I love you.
Roman: Thank you, Doc......for everything. I love you.....and I’ll see you soon.

As the guard takes Roman by the arm, the two people can’t take their eyes off each other as the door slowly closes behind him. As it slams shut.....

Marlena sits at a table and cries deeply. The scene then pans upwards and then slowly fades to black.

-Kate is on her way in to the hospital when she runs into Billie. Billie breaks down in her mother’s arms as Kate says it looks like she is returning the favor since Billie comforted her last night. Billie tells her mom everything and Kate says that no one has the right to blame Chelsea and her and Bo. Its something that happened and Chelsea is not at fault. Kate feels bad that Billie will never get a full chance at being a mother since you always make mistakes but learn as you go along. Kate says Billie must feel like she did when she thought Austin and Billie were dead. Billie says that her and Bo made too many mistakes and says that Hope an everyone else is right: Chelsea got away with everything and its their fault for spoiling her. She tells her mother that she should have stopped her from giving Chelsea everything as Kate realizes that it was a mistake but she loved her granddaughter and wanted to show it since she missed out on so much. Billie says her and Bo felt the same and that blinded them all and now look what has happened. Kate is about to go inside and defend Chelsea but Billie tells her not too. There is already enough going on and there doesn’t need to be anymore trouble. They both agree to on in the hospital and check on Claire and stay away from everyone else.

-Belle is singing lullabies to Claire and is daydreaming about being with Shawn and their baby. She vows to make her dream come true. She is shocked when Kate and Billie show up. Belle reminds Kate that she has nothing to say to her after what she did as Kate tells Belle that its not the time to rehash everything. Even though Claire isn’t Phillip’s, the family grew to care for Claire and wanted to make sure she was alright. Belle is stunned but wants to know why Kate would still care for Shawn’s daughter as Billie defends her mom and says that they do really care about Claire and know that Phillip does still too. Belle tells them about Phillip’s visit and Mimi’s pregnancy. Kate wonders if maybe Phillip will win after all since he is still married to Belle and Mimi is having Shawn’s baby. She decides not to interfere though since every time she did in the past her children got hurt. Kate blames Bell for Phillip’s pain as Bell points the finger back at Kate and her interference as Kate flashes back to when she realized how her actions for hurting her children and to Billie putting some of the blame on her for spoiling Chelsea. Billie asks her if she is ok as Kate doesn’t respond and her eyes start to well up with tears as she is realizing more and more what her actions have done. Claire’s machines then go berserk as Belle begins to panic. A doctor and nurse examine Claire and give Belle the news that she is failing fast and needs a liver now. He warns Belle that it may be all ready too late. Belle breaks down as Billie decides that Shawn needs to be told and goes after him. Kate sees Belle crying and embraces her and comforts her. She says the past needs to be forgotten right now so that they can hope and pray for Claire, who she still loves and cares about. Belle agrees and thanks Kate and comments on how nice it is to see Kate act like a real caring human being and like a real mother figure. Kate smiles and thanks Belle as they look in on Claire.

Carrie, Sami, Austin, Victor, Abe, Celeste, Bonnie, and Marlena all join the Brady’s and Horton’s in the chapel as Fr. Jansen is there and thinks it’s a good idea for everyone to gather to pray for Claire, John, and Zach. Marlena says that Belle didn’t want to leave Claire so she won’t be joining them. Victor comforts Caroline, which Roman spies and makes him angry but Bonnie calms him and comforts him. Caroline reminds Victor of his promise to stay away from her for now. He just wants to be there for her as Caroline asks him to keep his distance again. Austin is stunned when Carrie sits over with Caroline instead of him. Sami says it nothing but she along with Austin wonders what is going on with her. Max and Abby continue to comfort each other over Chelsea and everything going on, as do Frankie and jen. Alice, Doug, and Julie sit together as Marlena sits with them. Roman sits with Bonnie, who holds his hand. Mimi arrives and sits with Shawn. She tells him the doctor said she needs to take it easy but that she can now leave the hospital. He holds her as they comfort each other. Abe and Celeste sit near Bo and Hope as Celeste grasps Abe’s hand as he thanks her for her support. He tells her she can go to Lexie too as Celeste tells Abe that she feels Alexandra is doing fine on her own and if she needs her she will call. Besides, they just saw each other this morning when she left the house. She will check in on her later. They comfort each other. Bo and Hope sit next to each other and are very cold towards each other. Finally, as the prayer service progresses, Bo takes Hope’s hand as she breaks down in his arms begging God to spare JT and to help Claire and John. She then hears Bo pray that Chelsea rest in peace and she gives him a angry look but decides its not the time to fight. The service then ends after everyone has a moment of silent prayer while holding hands. Billie then arrives which angers Hope. Bo holds her back as everyone is stunned that she would show up given what is happening. Billie informs everyone about Claire as Hope tells Shawn to go since that is his daughter. He says he will check in on JT every hour. Mimi goes with him and tells Bonnie she will check in later. Billie then turns and leaves to go back to Kate as Hope tells her to stay away from her family and her husband. Billie turns around and looks at Hope as Hope realizes Billie has admitted to herself that everyone is right about Chelsea and what made her the way she was. She calls Billie on that as Billie tells her that its not the time and place to go over that. Bo tells Hope to calm down but Hope tells Bo that if Billie has realized it its time for him to do so too and to admit to himself the mistakes he made. He asks Hope what she wants from him and says he knows he screwed up with Chelsea but that doesn’t mean she is too blame for everything. Just as Hope is about to answer, JT’s doctor comes in and says that he has taken a turn for the worse. If he doesn’t get a heart soon, he will die. Hope breaks down in Bo’s arms as everyone else comforts each other.

A drunk Phillip is driving out of town in the car he stole. He is sure no one will find him until he is ready and then he will come back and get his revenge. His car is swerving as he drives quickly through the quiet neighborhood streets near Bo and Hope’s house. Lucas is drunk as well and is driving through some quiet streets, intent on ending it all and committing suicide. He remembers there being a ravine on the outskirts of the neighborhood he is driving through and decides to just crash his car off it and down the ravine and into the river. He knows its close to Bo and Hope’s but he is sure no one will be able to stop him. His swerving car drives furiously through the streets. Maggie, who is badly drunk and disoriented, is driving furiously to find Zach. She wonders if maybe he wandered him since he does know the way and used to walk home with his friend and his friend’s mother from pre-school. She heads toward the house with her car swerving back and forth and out of control like Lucas’ and Phillip’s. Zach is wandering the streets and we see him jump and get scared with every sound he hears (even crickets). He ends up across the street from his house and starts to cross when his handmade friendship bracelet that Marcus Morrison gave him falls off his wrist and into the road. He goes back to get it just as a swearing, speeding, out of control car heads towards him. He tries to get out of the way but the car swerves with him and hits him. He ends up on the side of the street, clutching the bracelet. The driver does stop at the stop sign (we don’t see the person and can’t make out the car due to the dark) but after a few moments the car drives off continuing to speed and swerve as we hear the car driving off as the camera pans on Zach laying on the street. The screen then fades to white and then to black.

    On the Next Days...

Julie makes a shocking discovery. Two cars collide. Lexie can’t believe her eyes. Hope gets more bad news.

    JANUARY 18, 2008-EPISODE #418: TARGET

    BILLIE'S P.I. OFFICE

Billie wakes up slowly. She is disheveled yet again and looks around, seeing the empty liquor bottles in front of her. She realizes she gave in to the urge again and covers her face in shame and frustration. She gets up slowly and glances at her cell, which is registering 9 missed calls. Billie, still trying to deal with her hangover, checks them and learns Lucas is being transfered upstate. She quickly begins to put herself together so she can head down to the station.

Billie's cell then rings. It's Jack, who says he has been calling and admits he was worried. Billie says she had a long night. He asks if she feels better. Billie assures him she is fine but, obviously, couldn't get any sleep. Jack thinks it's understandable with everything she is dealing with. Billie tells Jack she has to go as Lucas is being transfered. She then asks about Greta. Jack tells Billie she is hanging in there. Billie says that's good and then tells him not to worry. She is fine. Jack tells her to call if she needs anything. Billie says she will and tells him she has to go. She then quickly hangs up as Jack can't help but be worried. He decides he will check on Billie later and goes in to see Greta, noticing that she is waking up.

Jack asks how she is doing. Greta is silent until her eyes well with tears and she says she can't believe this is happening. She admits she has no idea how she will get through this. It's like losing her mother all over again. Jack tells her that he is there for her and so is all the rest of her friends and family. Greta embraces him and thanks him for everything. Jack smiles, saying that is what friends are for and her and Frankie are two of his best. Alex then appears outside. Greta informs Jack and Jack asks if he can come in. Greta nods. Jack motions for Alex to come in and he does.

Alex apologizes to Greta for her loss. She thanks him. Jack tells Alex he thought he was starting early at The Spectator. Alex points out he is but stopped by to see him first to see how things were going. Greta tells Alex he will do fine and that Jack is very proud that his son is following in his footsteps. Jack nods, saying he is very talented and no doubt got it from him. They all laugh. Alex tells Greta he looks forward to working with him. She nods, saying she doesn't know if that will happen. Jack says it will. Greta admits her only focus right now is two things...mourning and honoring Frankie and getting a hold of that bitch Nicole and paying her back for what she has done. Greta points out she may as well have killed Eric and now Frankie...and that she will get vengeance. Jack and Alex look on, worried.

    UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Meanwhile, Hope walks up and sees Steve by the nurses station. Steve asks what she is doing there. Hope says she wanted to check on Kayla and Greta, hoping no one that despises her right now would see her. Hope asks how things are. Steve fills her in and asks how things are with her. Hope tells him about her and Bo separating. They both tell each other they are sorry and Steve blames himself, saying he promised her things would be ok. He pushed the past on her and then thought Nicole was bluffing. Hope tells him it's ok. They need to deal with the hand they were dealt. She only wishes they could've told Bo and Kayla their own way, like they planned. None of this probably would've happened.

Steve thinks we all have a time to go and maybe it would've happened anyway but not like this. He blames Nicole for how it all went down and thinks she needs to pay for this...and all the other [!@#$%^&*] she has pulled. Hope points out she is against getting payback through violence and scheming but admits Nicole needs to pay and that jail may be too lenient after all she has done. Hope then says there is no telling what may happen if she strikes again and who may get hurt. The scene then shifts to...

Kayla's room, where Kayla is laying there silent and Stephanie is asking if she is sure she wants nothing. Kayla shakes her head, saying she wants time to be reversed and for things to be what they were before 2008 began. Stephanie wishes that could happen, adding that it's all her father's fault. Kayla says that Steve takes part of the blame. As does Hope. But someone else pushed it too far and is the reason why Frankie fell as well. Stephanie says she knows all about it...Nicole. Kayla nods, saying that woman has been a thorn in the Brady's side for too long and has gone too far. Eric, Frankie, her unborn child...it may not have been directly but she may as well have killed them all, not to mention all the other schemes she has attempted. Kayla tells Stephanie it's time Nicole took a hard fall...a very hard one. The scene then shifts to...

    BRADY PUB

Caroline is making funeral arrangements for Frankie when Bo comes in with Victor. Bo embraces his mother and asks if he can help. Victor offers his help too. Caroline says everything is pretty much set but says there is one thing they can do...find Nicole so she can make her pay. Victor says he has his men on it and plans on handling it, telling Caroline there is no need for her to get involved. Caroline tells Victor she has had it with Nicole. Everything she did to Eric, Victor, Carrie, and now all this. She has caused too much trouble and inflicted too much pain on her family and needs to be stopped.

Caroline admits she can't help but feel it's her responsibility to do it. Bo thinks there is a list of people who feel that way based on how Nicole has affected him, including himself. He wants her to pay too. Bo just thinks Caroline needs to stay out of it and let Victor, him, and the police handle it. Caroline doesn't know if she can do that. Victor promises her that Nicole will be found and WILL pay. Caroline tells him she better and says it's well past due. The scene then shifts to...

ORPHEUS SECRET PALATIAL HOME(on the outskirts of Salem)

Nicole serves Joey lunch and tells him he is lucky he slept through breakfast as she didn't know what to whip up. She asks Joey how long it's been since he had a good night sleep. Joey doesn't know and tells Nicole the bologna sandwich is good. Nicole smiles and says thanks and thinks it's time to talk about his options. Joey is confused. Nicole tells him he can't stay with her. She tries to explain but is forced to admit she is in alot of trouble and it's not a good situation for him. Joey says he won't go to a orphanage or a foster home. He says he had friends in those and he isn't going. He tells Nicole he can keep her company. She seems like she is lonely. Nicole insists she is fine and that she doesn't want him getting hurt. Plus, she is no good for him.

Joey thinks she is cool and admits he likes her. Nicole points out it's been only a day since they met. Joey still thinks she is his angel and that Nicole was brought to him. Nicole rolls her eyes. Joey thinks it's true and she will believe it someday. He then adds that if Nicole tries to give him over to the police or to an orphanage he will tell them where to find her. Nicole asks what makes him think she is in trouble with the police. Joey thinks it makes sense with her worried about him being hurt staying with him and all.

Nicole thinks he is too smart for his own good and can't believe he is blackmailing her. He smiles, saying he just doesn't want to be an orphan or all alone again. Nicole, realizing he won't give up, agrees to let him stay with her, for now. Just until they can figure things out. Joey thanks her and walks over to hug her, catching Nicole off guard as Joey looks up and says she won't regret this. Joey smiles as Nicole sighs and says she better not.

    UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Abby is with Max, asking if there is anything she can do. Max smiles, saying she is already doing it but adds he does need some time alone. He is going to go check on Kayla and he needs to think. Abby understands and tells him to come find her when he's done. She kisses his cheek and walks off. While alone, Max puts on his gloves and says it's time he starts his own search for Nicole. The sooner he finds her, the sooner he can return the favor after what she did to Frankie. He walks off.

Abby walks up to Jack, who is now outside Greta's room with Alex. They are talking about Greta wanting revenge. Abby says she can't help but feel Max wants the same. He just isn't telling her much and is keeping alot his feelings inside. Jack thinks he will open up. She just needs to give him time. He's lucky to have her. Abby smiles. Alex says he has to go. Jack embraces him, wishing him luck and saying he will see him later. Abby wishes him luck too, saying he will do great. Alex thanks them and walks off. Abby says she wishes she were spending more time getting to know Alex but with everything going on, it's hard. Jack knows and says she will soon. They all have it rough right now. Abby admits it hurts losing Frankie and Aunt Kayla losing her baby...it's alot. Jack nods, saying they will get through it. They always do. Jack embraces her as the scene shifts to...

    SALEM POLICE STATION

Billie arrives and bumps right into Kate in the hallway, who says she was just about to try calling again. She asks where the hell she was. Billie tells Kate she is exhausted and tried to sleep but was unable. She reminds Kate she is going through alot right now. Kate points out that Billie's phone was on all the times she called and asks why she never answered if she was unable to sleep. Billie tells Kate she can't deal with this and they should drop this. Lucas is more important right now. Kate agrees but says they do need to talk later. Billie says maybe. Kate says they will and walks off as an annoyed Billie follows.

    UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Alyson is outside Jean's room, looking at a newspaper. Frankie's death is the headline and there is a mention about the police searching for Nicole. Alyson smiles, saying it's long past time that bitch gets what is coming to her. Alyson admits she wishes she could do it herself and says that maybe, one day, she will be forced to do so. She then looks into Jean's room, hesitant about going in but realizing she must see Jean at some point and that she needs to try to get answers.

Alyson walks in, surprising and relieving Jean, who points out she hasn't seen her since she learned about her father's demise. Alyson nods, saying she needed time to digest things. She recalls her drunken romp with Philip. Jean says she was so worried and wishes she had called. She points out she is being released tomorrow. Alyson thinks that is good but says she isn't there for small talk. She informs Jean that she did some research into her father's death and was puzzled by what she discovered. Jean asks what sort of research she did.

Alyson says she talked to the friend who sent her the letter that revealed everything to her and that she talked to the police who investigated her father's death. All she was told is that it was ruled an accident and Alyson finds it suspicious since it seems the investigation lasted less then 48 hours. Jean asks what she is getting at. Alyson admits to Jean she feels something is missing, saying she remembers that her and daddy were on their way to reconciling. That had happened many times before but this time even the maid was talking about it. Alyson admits she remembers getting her hopes up and how happy both her and daddy were...until they day she and Jean caught him in bed with one of his former mistresses.

Jean says she recalls that day, pointing out how upset Alyson got and how that led to Alyson telling her father she hated him. Jean reminds Alyson her father died that night and tells her that is why she kept the truth from her. If she knew her father died, it would've destroyed her, no matter how mad she was. She would've remembered the last words she said to him..."I hate you" and would've felt guilty. Alyson thinks it's possible Jean put up a front when she found her father in bed with the woman. Jean asks what she is saying. Alyson thinks it's possible Jean went to the boat when she was asleep and killed her father out of anger over him betraying her again. Alyson points out all she had to do was push him and come back home. No one would know, especially since she was so upset and the maid could easily be paid off for her silence.

Jean can't believe Alyson would say such a thing and points out her father wasn't alone that night. His mistress was with him. Alyson thinks that gives her more motive. Jean points out that she hated that woman and there is no way she would ever keep her mouth shut if she had seen her kill her husband. Alyson admits that is a good point and wonders if it was the woman he was with or another mistress of his. Jean shakes her head, saying it was an accident. Her father had alcohol in his system. He was quite upset after what had happened with us and he just fell off and they found the body the next day. Alyson thinks there is still more to it. Jean tells her to just leave it be. It's what is for the best. Alyson lashes out, saying she is sick of her always assuming she knows what is best. She has done that all along for her and that is over. Alyson points out that BS brought them to Salem and made their lives hell. Jean tells Alyson she loves her and is sorry but she just does what she thinks it's best.

Alyson: The key word there is "thinks," mom. No more. I'm living my own life and making my own decisions as to what is right for me and my son. When Sam grows up and is able, I will leave him be to so he can learn from his mistakes and make his own life choices. Not like you. You tried to control me. You tried to dictate everything. Don't you see? Not telling me about daddy didn't protect me? It prolonged the inevitable. You robbed me of my right to grieve my father. I could've dealt with all this much easier when I was younger. Now, knowing everything involved, it's harder. I won't ever get over it.
Jean: So, I screwed you up...even worse?
Alyson: Yes. You did. But there is still hope. I need to know the truth, mom. I know there is more to daddy's death. You don't just keep something like this for so long if it's just an accident, regardless of you not wanting me to feel guilty.
Jean: Just leave it alone. You know everything there is to know.
Alyson: Fine. I knew I wouldn't get anything from you. It's fine. I will learn everything on my own. The WHOLE truth. I have to. Something tells me I have to do this. And I will. I will get the answers I need. Whether you like it or not. Goodbye, mother.

A frustrated Alyson walks out as a worried Jean, now alone, says:

Jean: Leave it alone, Alyson. For your own good. Believe me. You don't want to know the truth about your father. You just don't.

The scene then freezes on Jean's face and fades to black.

1/19/05 (I am really sorry these are really behind. I am using a new format now and things will be much shorter. I realize its very hard for people to read these when they are so long so now they will be rather brief unless something huge happens. Thanks for reading and I hope you read all the episodes I am posting over the next few days-I am gonna catch up big time so by at least the end of the weekend the episodes will be up to date and there will be updated casting news and February Sweeps previews. Thanks for your patience and keep reading and commenting!!!

-Alice, Doug, Julie, Caroline, Abe, Celeste, Bo, Hope, Jen, Frankie, Max, Abby, Roman, Victor, and Bonnie all are outside Zach’s room. Hope goes inside to pray for a miracle as the doctors still haven’t found a heart yet. Bo still feels guilty and can’t help but notice all the stares from those around him. He is very uncomfortable and wonders how Hope and him will make it if JT dies.

-Marlena, Carrie, Sami, Austin, Shawn, Kate, Billie, Mimi, and Belle all wait outside of Claire’s room and comfort Belle and Shawn. They all are praying for a miracle. Fr. Jansen gives Claire last rites as Shawn comforts her making Mimi and Kate seethe. Bonnie reminds Belle of her promise as Belle, from that point on, avoids Shawn.

-Lucas and Maggie are both still drunk and disoriented (but are getting more lucid) and driving out of control and fast. Their cars soon collide as she is coming around a corner while he doesn’t stop at the corner. They ask the other what they are doing and discover that they are both drunk and can’t really remember the last few hours. Lucas admits he was suicidal and that wakes Maggie up a bit. They both can’t believe what they have become. She and Lucas both move their cars to the side of the road and she suggests they walks back to her house, since it isn’t far, and help each other through this. They go back as Lucas breaks down and tells Maggie how alone he feels. Maggie does the same and admits her guilt over Mickey and Shawn Sr’s death. They both promise to get through this together.

-Phillip is driving drunk and disoriented as well (but his condition is improving. He pulls over because he has finally noticed his headlight is busted. He notices something odd on the headlight and wonders what it is. He touches it with his finger and has a stunned look on his face. He looks confused and wonders how it could’ve gotten there. He realizes he can’t remember a whole lots from the last few hours. He decides he doesn’t want to know what happened and whether what is on the light is what he thinks it is. He needs to leave now before he is caught and forced to stay and gets in hot water for stealing the car he stole from the hospital, even though he is a Kiriakis and can get himself out of it. He gets in the car and drives away.

-Julie feels cold and goes back to the car to get her sweater. She is stunned when her car is not where it was when they parked. She calls Doug to get down there and he confirms that they were parked there and now the car is gone. They inform security who begins to look into it.

-Lexie leaves the Dimera Mansion and decides to go see a movie. She needs to get her mind off her problems and since she can’t do anything about Abe right now since he needs time to work through everything, she needs to get out. The Dimera chauffeur offered to take her but she wanted to drive herself and be alone for awhile to think and maybe come up with ways to get what she wants back. As she is driving, she decides to take a short cut. She is going down the street near Bo and Hope’s and comments to herself on the fact that they aren’t home. She sees something in the road ahead and stops. She doesn’t know what it is and decides to back up and drive around it. She does and as she is driving away she looks into her rear view mirror and quickly stops. She thinks it’s a person. She backs up and gets out and discovers Zach’s limp body on the road, She realizes he may have head trauma and spine trauma so she gently examines him and is forced to give him CPR. She calls an ambulance right away and keeps him alive until they come. Once they arrive, she decides to ride with them and quickly pulls her car into Bo and Hope’s driveway while they ready Zach and then jumps in the ambulance. The arrive at the hospital and another doctor goes into the ER with Zach. Lexie wants to be in there too but one of the nurses said it would be wrong due to her connection to him. Lexie insists and she is let in to work on Zach. They realize he needs to go to surgery and they need permission. Lexie rushes off to tell Hope and Bo, whom the nurse says are already in the hospital.

-Hope is all alone in JT’s room with everyone outside when Lexie arrives. Everyone is stunned to see her there, including Abe and Celeste, and once she sees Hope she makes a beeline for her and completely misses Bo. Hope asks her what is going on and wonders if a heart was found. Lexie tells Hope what happened as Hope breaks down and shrieks, “NO!!!!!!!” as the screen freeze frames on her screaming and then goes to black.

    JANUARY 2, 2008: EPISODE #406: CHAOS THEORY

    SALEM TOWERS

Loved ones run into the ballroom and everyone gasps in horror at the sight. Mike runs up with Laura and Bill close behind and he and Lexie check on both Frankie and Greta. Mike says that from the angle, Frankie must have broken Greta’s fall. Caroline races over to see her son lying unconscious amongst broken glass and debris and can’t bear to watch as she falls into Bo’s arms, crying. Max wants to know if his brother is going to be ok and Mike can’t answer that. As the Hortons and Bradys pray for miracles, Kayla is almost doubling over in pain.....

But won’t reveal it to anyone, as she steps off to the side.

Stephanie runs over to her mother wondering what is wrong and what happened. As Bo and Kayla stare coldly at Steve and Hope, Kayla says she’ll tell her later. It's not the time and place. As Hope blames herself for this night’s tragedy, Steve tells her not to blame herself. They should have just told the truth from the beginning.

Kate then runs over to Billie, asking if she is ok. Jack tells Kate what happened and Kate hopes everyone will be ok. Billie tells her that is a laugh.........her mother is actually thinking of someone besides herself. Kate says this is not the time for that and Billie agrees, saying that there truly is nothing anyone can do now. As Billie walks off trembling and in tears, Jack and Kate watch and wonder.

    SALEM AIRPORT

On the Kiriakis private jet, Victor hands his new bride Maggie a glass of........ice water. Maggie says that’s not fair and Victor tells her not even on their honeymoon is she going to drink. As the couple laugh and then kiss, the pilot walks in and disturbs them. Victor is none too pleased but changes his mind dramatically when the pilot tells them that his daughter has been injured and is being rushed to University Hospital. Victor tells Maggie to grab her purse and then orders his driver to get the car ready.....

And move with all speed to the hospital.

    SALEM PARK

Joelle goes into cardiac arrest, all the while accusing Lucas of raping and attacking her. Lucas swears he didn’t do it. Patricia says that Joelle pin pointed him as her attacker. Lucas says what is amazing is that the D.A. would allow a crime scene to become contaminated while trying to go on some witch hunt to lock him up. Joelle tells Lucas one thing as she breaths heavily......

Joelle: I’ll see you Lucas.....in hell.

At that moment, Joelle dies. Lucas and Patricia are stunned but she snaps out of it, calling for an officer to take Lucas back to the station and book him......

    On murder charges.

As the officer drags a defiant Lucas away, Patricia orders the area sealed and for an investigation to begin......at once. She then orders a search for Joelle's son, Joey. The scene then fades from Patricia.........

    SALEM POLICE STATION

Roman is brought in wearing handcuffs. Abe takes his coat off of Roman’s wrists and then takes the cuffs off. Roman thanks him, saying he thought he was over wearing cuffs after the last time he was arrested for murder. Abe says that was 25 years ago. New day, new time. Roman agrees as Marlena and Belle come walking in. Marlena and Roman hug as Belle thanks Abe for his help. Abe says that he will fight this tooth and nail. Carrie then walks in, wheeling Sami in, and Roman asks why Sami is there. Sami says there is no way she is staying out while her daddy is being charged with murder.

Marlena smiles and asks if Sami is pushing herself too much. Sami says she is fine but wants to ask one question......

Sami: How in the HELL can Orpheus and Stefano get away with all the [!@#$%^&*] they have pulled this past year, but my dad gets arrested?!

    Stefano walks in, defiantly saying.......

Stefano: Maybe you should wonder why he hasn’t been locked up a long time ago. I told you that you and your family would pay for what happened to Andre, and Renee, and Megan. I keep my promises, Roman.
Roman: Whatever, old man. You have the upper hand now.......but, as you know, it won’t last long.
Stefano: Oh, on the contrary, my friend. This is check......and mate.
Roman: I still have some moves left on that chess board, Stefano. Remember that.

Both men are kept separate as Abe warns them both that the station will not be used as their personal battleground. Both men stare hatred at one another as Marlena, Carrie, Belle and Sami can cut the tension with a butcher’s knife. Marlena then asks to speak to Stefano.........alone.

As they walk into the outer hallway, she asks him how he can let Roman go to prison after what his son has done. Stefano says that, for a price, Roman can walk out of the station a free man. Marlena is appalled......and tries to slap Stefano. He is undeterred, saying that she will always be his “Queen Of The Night”.

Marlena then says that his queen just may let everyone in Salem know who his son is. Stefano swears that if anyone finds out about Orpheus........Roman will die inside prison walls and that will be just for starters. As Roman is brought out for booking, Sami and Carrie follow. Marlena says that she will try her best to have him released as soon as possible and Stefano demands that no police corruption occur in this case.

Roman kisses his ladies and then takes a walk to booking, led away by Abe. As the Brady women look at Stefano, all he can do.......

Is smile, as he walks away.

    SALEM TOWERS

Kayla is still in serious pain as Steve walks over and asks if she is ok. She stares coldly at him once again and says nothing. Bo is still comforting Caroline as Abby holds Max’s hand. Laura, Bill, Mike and Lexie work on Frankie and Greta while everyone watches and waits. Mike hopes that Greta hasn’t re-injured herself. Bo says that he will bring in whatever doctors Mike needs to help save his sister and brother. He then says that Frankie has massive internal injuries and, by the fall, he may have suffered a broken back. They can’t stand around talking. These people need to get to a hospital....

And fast. At that moment, two helicopters land and the medical teams start loading Greta and Frankie on board. As the helicopters take off into the cold night, everyone watches them disappear into the stars......

Hoping that everything will be ok.

At that moment, Kayla doubles over in pain and Bo and Jack come rushing over. She grabs her stomach and Steve then runs over to her. Kayla instinctively takes his hand as Bo and Jack catch her and, as Steve tries to comfort Kayla........

The scene shows her holding his hand tighter.......as the scene fades to black.

    1/20/06

-The vigil for Claire continues as Kate, Billie, Carrie, Sami, Austin, Mimi, and Marlena all support Shawn and Belle as Claire continues to fight for survival. Sami and Kate almost go at it over why she is there but Kate says that no matter what her and her family still care about Claire. Kate seethes as Austin comforts Sami. Carrie continues to avoid Austin prompting Marlena and Kate to inquire why. Carrie says she has her reasons as Kate begs Carrie to go back to Austin so that he don’t end up with Sami. Carrie says that Sami and Austin should be together because they deserve each other and she tells Kate to mind her own business. Marlena reminds Kate to do the same as Kate asks Marlena if they are no longer friends. Marlena says that she is always forgiving but given that Kate has no remorse for her actions she can’t forgive her. She walks away as Kate says that she has lost the respect of her children and what little friends she had. Billie suggests that maybe Kate should so everyone the vulnerable side that she exposed in front of her and to Belle earlier when comforting her and looking past their differences. Kate says that would make her look weak and she promised herself to never be weak again after everything she went through in her past. Billie and her continue to worry about Phillip. The doctors then decide to take Claire up for tests to see how worse her condition has gotten and whether its too late to save her. They have a specialist upstairs to look at her. Mimi comforts Shawn as Marlena comforts Belle. While waiting for word, they all decide to join the others holding vigil for JT.

-Lucas and Maggie continue to help comfort each other as they are sobering up. Lucas tries to get Maggie to realize she is not at fault for what happened as Maggie tries to convince Lucas he isn’t alone. They both realize that the hurt they are going through is excruciating and wonder if maybe drinking is the only way they can get through it. They sit at the table in Maggie’s kitchen and ponder that thought.

-Phillip is driving and trying to remember what transpired earlier that night since he is sobering up. He is now outside of Salem and in the country. He says goodbye to Salem and vows that when he returns he will have his revenge and will be a force to be reckoned with, more so then his father in the past.

-Julie and Doug return to join Alice, Bonnie, Roman, Abe, Celeste, Caroline, Jen, Frankie, Max, Abby, Victor, Bo, and Hope. They inform everyone of what happened to their car and everyone informs them about Zach. Bo comforts Hope as she realizes she may now lose two sons. She signs the permission forms for surgery. Lexie is grabbed by Abe who reminds her of her connection to Zach. Lexie insists she can do it and vows not to lose someone else in her life. Marlena, Billie, Kate, Belle, Mimi, Shawn, Carrie, Sami, and Austin all arrive to join the others and give them an update on Claire. Everyone can’t believe all the tragedy lately. Everyone is mad that Billie and Kate are there but Alice insists that its not a time for fighting. Bonnie sees Belle reach out to Shawn but then pull back and is pleased and smiles. Marlena notices this and asks Bonnie what is going on. Bonnie reminds Marlena of her daughter’s promise. Marlena warns Bonnie not to interfere with her children and cites what Kate has done and its results. Marlena also informs Bonnie that if she messes with her daughter in anyway she will have to deal with her. Sami and Carrie overhear and make the same vow. Bonnie walks away as Sami, Carrie, and Marlena all agree on hoping Roman doesn’t get too close to Bonnie. Bonnie comforts Roman after he notices Victor and Caroline in an embrace again. Caroline reminds Victor of his promise as Victor says that she needs him whether she likes it or not. We see Lexie in surgery as she begs her “Isaac” to fight. The other surgeons asks her to leave due to her involvement but she insists to stay. Some of the machines start going off as Lexie says to herself, “Oh God-Isaac NO!!!” Bo comforts Hope as she notices Billie and Kate. The three then get into a fight about Chelsea and so on, which is stopped by Alice. Hope again blames Bo too but Bo reminds Hope of what is going on and that they need each other. They agree to let it go given what is going on. Shawn joins them as they all hold on to each other as Lexie joins them. She says that Zach is in critical condition and may or may not make it and, even if he does, may have brain damage as a result. Hope breaks down as Bo holds her and Shawn, who is also comforted by Mimi. All present is stunned and sad about Zach, Kate privately comments to Billie on how maybe Zach or JT dying could save Claire. Sami hears this and rips into Kate, prompting Hope to do the same. Bo breaks up the fight and tells everyone to cool it and that things are bad enough. Lexie says that she will let them know when they can see Zach. The police show up and announce, after Roman asks, what they have discovered at the accident scene. They have a witness who said that three cars went by and they were all 3 out of control. The officers say that they found fragments of a headlight at the scene and have tire tracks. They also discovered that the car that hit Zack sideswiped a car parked near the street. It had green paint. Bo and Hope ask if they have any leads on the driver. They say they do. The paint, tire tracks, and the description of one of the 3 cars by the witness all helped them but it was a car theft at the hospital that really was their big break. Julie is shocked and asks if her car was what hit Zach. The cops say they believe so and they have another witness who just called in and said a car pulled over three blocks from the scene and seemed to be looking at the front end of the car and seemed disoriented and drunk. They claim how lucky they were that Bo and Hope’s neighborhood was a neighborhood watch community otherwise this would have never came together so quickly. That couples with the fact that the car was stolen and reported stolen by the hospital made all this easy to put together quickly. Bo and Hope are stunned it was a drunk driver and that it was Julie’s stolen car. They want to know who the driver is. The officers got a vague description from the witness who saw the driver out of his car when he pulled over but the hospital cameras supported that description and gave them what they needed. Hope asks who they driver was. The officer says all the evidence points too Phillip Kiriakis. Everyone is stunned, including Victor and Kate. Bo and Hope look on in horror as the screen fades on them and goes to black.

    On the next Days....

Lucas and Maggie each have confusing memory flashes. The search for Phillip begins. The tension builds between Billie, Hope, and Kate.

    JANUARY 21, 2008-EPISODE #418: DIFFERENCES ASIDE

    SALEM POLICE STATION

Lucas is led into a waiting room and sees his family there. Bill walks over and asks him how he’s doing and Lucas says if Bill were going to a maximum security prison, how would he be doing? Bill smiles and admits it was a stupid question and both men laugh. Julie tells Lucas that everything will be ok and Maggie tells him that Victor will do his best to get both him and Roman out of there. Alice tells him to be strong and Doug says that this D.A. is just trumping up charges on him, to which Marlena agrees with.

She then goes over and stands next to Bill, telling Lucas that they will fight like hell to bring him home. Lucas appreciates that but says that it doesn’t look too good for him. He’ll keep the faith though.

Philip and Belle then come in and Philip walks over to shake his brother’s hand. Kate slowly walks in and says that she will do whatever she can to get him free. Lucas tells Kate her kind of help isn’t needed. It’s probably one of the reasons why he’s in prison. Billie also comes in and hugs Lucas, saying that she will do what she can. He tells her she doesn’t look well and she says it’s fine. She just has a lot on her mind. Lucas says that both her and Philip can drop by and see him or to talk, to which they appreciate the offer.

Bill then asks for Lucas to not be so hard on Kate and Lucas says Bill never had to really deal with her. Everything she touches, she poisons. Kate doesn’t care how angry Lucas is....he is her child and she will do what a mother has to do. Sami, who is standing off to the side, agrees, saying that with both families behind him, how can he lose?

The Brady women tell Sami that after what she’s been through, she shouldn’t get involved. Sami is stunned, saying that she should just let her man rot behind bars for something he didn’t do.....while the true guilty man goes free. Belle says this could really cost her her life and Sami doesn’t care. She has no life without Lucas and this actually makes Kate smile. Philip sees this and tells Kate not to get involved. Kate is then asking if he is saying she can’t help her own son.

Philip is just saying it’s too dangerous. Kate asks where the sudden affection is coming from. Sami says that she and Kate have to do this.....and Will is not to find out. Kate agrees. Sami then says they both will do what they have to in order to get Lucas out of this mess....

And make Patricia pay for what she’s done.

Billie, in the meantime, can’t seem to shake the headache from the hangover she has. She stands off to the side and Kate walks over to her as Philip watches. Kate asks her if she is ok and Billie snaps at her, saying she didn’t care when she was keeping her father away from her, so why does she care now? Philip walks over as Billie tells Kate that she should spend her time thinking about how she’s going to screw up Lucas’ life more by trying to help him.

As Billie walks away, Kate tries to follow but Philip grabs her arms, telling her to leave Billie alone. As a worried and saddened Kate looks at Billie leave....

Bill looks at Lucas and shakes his hand. He tells him that he is proud of how Lucas is handling this travesty and will someday be home, free and clear of these bogus charges. Sami and Will come up to Lucas and both hug him. Will says he’ll keep the Xbox 360 in the box until he gets home and Sami says that their home will be very empty until he returns. Lucas keeps a stiff upper lip, saying that if anyone can get him out of this mess.....it’s his family and friends.

Marlena tells him how right he is. The guard knocks on the door and tells Lucas it’s time. Everyone looks at Lucas as he says.....

Lucas: Well......see ya in the funny papers.

Sami and Lucas hug deeply as he pulls away from her and Will has to stop her from chasing after him as Lucas leaves the waiting room quickly. Everyone looks at each other and, in a show of solidarity, Kate walks over.......

And takes Sami’s hand, as both women tell the other they have to work together....

To bring Lucas home. The scene freeze-frames on these two adversaries holding hands........as it slowly fades to black.

    JANUARY 22, 2008-EPISODE #419: MEMORIAL

    ST. LUKE'S CHURCH

People file in to the church as Frankie's funeral service is only minutes away. Caroline, who is being comforted by Kimberly, tells Kim that she is going to go over to talk to Alice, Laura, Bill, Doug, and Julie and thank them for coming and their support. Kim nods. As Caroline walks off, Shane comes over to Kim. Kim wasn't aware he had returned from his ISA-related tripe. Shane says he just returned and he knew he had to be there for her. Kim thanks him. They embrace.

We then see Bo and Stephanie come in wheeling Kayla. Caroline sees this and excuses herself from her conversation with Alice to go over and embrace Kayla, saying she didn't have to come so soon. Kayla says she had to...for Frankie. That and she just can't bare to keep sitting in that room, thinking about Frankie and her baby. Stephanie reminds her she needs to go straight back to the hospital after as she isn't ready to be released yet. Kayla nods. Kim and Shane then come over and they both embrace Kayla as Bo's attention seems to be elsewhere as he slowly walks into the vestibule. He seems lost in his own thoughts until Jack walks over and asks if he has seen Billie yet. Bo shakes his head, asking if something is wrong. Jack says he hopes not but the funeral is about to start.

Just then, Billie walks in, wearing black sunglasses to go with the rest of her black ensemble. Jack races over and asks if she is ok. Billie asks Jack why that seems to be the first thing out of everyone's mouth when they talk to her these days. She insists she is fine. She's exhausted and just can't sleep with everything going on. She adds that she is wearing the sunglasses because she has bags under her eyes. Bo joins them and tells Billie he would like to talk to her about the whole Chelsea thing and apologizes for not talking with her sooner after learning she wasn't their daughter. Billie says it's fine. She's dealing with it. She excuses herself as both Bo and Jack look at each other. Bo then says:

Bo: You think something is wrong, don't you?
Jack: She says nothing is but...I can't shake the feeling and she looks like hell.
Bo: Well, I will try to talk to her once things calm down. See what's up.
Jack: Thanks. Maybe you can get something out of her. God knows I've tried.

Abby then walks in with Max. Jack excuses himself and goes over to give his condolences to Max. Max thanks him and says he is going to go over to his mother and sisters. Abby says ok and they kiss as he walks off. Abby asks Jack if Greta has arrived. Jack admits he isn't sure if she is coming since she is still recovering and all. Just then, Victor and Maggie come in, wheeling Greta. Jack and Abby greet her. Caroline, Kim, Bo, Kayla, and Max greet her as well. Caroline wasn't sure she would come. Greta admits she wasn't. Not because of her injuries but because she wasn't sure she could deal with this but she has to. She has come to honor Frankie's memory and it's the least she can do. Caroline nods and embraces her, assuring her that this isn't her fault. Both woman break down in tears as Fr. Jansen enters and signals it's time to begin as the scene shifts to...

Outside the church, where Hope walks up and hesitates, wondering if she should go in. Steve and Adrienne then walk up behind her. Steve says he is having the same problem. Adrienne thinks they both have a right, especially Steve who was close to Frankie. Hope thinks she is right but this is about Frankie and she don't want any trouble, especially since they are partly to blame for what happened. Steve agrees, thinking it may be best to wait outside. Adrienne thinks they are being too hard on themselves and then suggests sneaking in and standing in the vestibule. Steve and Hope look at each other and Hope then says that might be a good idea but they can't be seen or heard. Adrienne leads them in as she opens the door slowly. Steve and Hope follow her in and off to the side of the vestibule as Fr. Jansen invites anyone who would like to share memories or say something about Frankie to come up to the altar. The scene then fades into...

Carrie, who is the first person to speak.

Carrie: I wish I had gotten to spend some more time with Frankie. I speak for me and my sisters, Sami and Belle, when I say we all regret that. When I was little, I remember having this big crush on Frankie. It was embarrassing and I never really spoke of it until now. I think it started around the time I believed my stepmother, Marlena, had died. He drew me a picture to make me smile and...it did. I will never forget that. I wish I had more memories of times with him. I think we all do.

Carrie turns around and looks at the coffin.

Carrie: No one's smiling today, Frankie. Too bad you weren't here to fix that. Rest in peace.

As Carrie walks back to her seat, the scene fades into...

Abby, who is now up on the altar, looking at Frankie's coffin.

Abby: I will always regret how awful I was to you at times. All you ever wanted was to protect me and my mom and to be a friend. I'm so sorry. You will never know how much. You should be here right now. You made that promise to my mom to protect all of us but, knowing mom, she won't blame you. You look out for her up there. You look out for all of us. What I am saying...of course you will. You always did. (crying) We'll miss you, Frankie. Your family will. Your friends. JJ. And me. We love you. I love you.

The scene then fades to Jack giving his eulogy.

Jack: Normally, I am never a man of few words but, today, it's hard. Hard to sum up who Frankie was...what he meant to me...to all of us. I think the best way is to tell you what kind of man he wasn't. Any other man would've just went ahead and stole Jennifer. And, I guess it wouldn't be stealing. Not in the situation we were in with me being dead...again.

The crowd laughs as Jack smiles.

Jack: Good, old selfless Francois...oh...I'm sorry. Haven't called him that in awhile and he wouldn't like that. FRANKIE...never once did anything underhanded and, heck, he didn't even have to be underhanded. Jennifer was right there for the taking but he offered to step aside. For Jennifer's sake. For our family's sake. Frankie was not your ordinary person. Sure, you will find people that put others before themself but every one of us has a selfish moment or two. Not this man. Not while I've known him. Never once. He would live the rest of his life alone if he knew it would mean someone he loves or, even a perfect stranger, would be happy because of it. I've never had a better friend. I've never known a better man.

Jack turns to Frankie's coffin and, fighting back tears, says:

Jack: Goodbye, my friend. You will be missed.

Jack walks off and over to Greta. He takes her hand and them embraces her. A tearful Greta nods and thanks Jack. Jack walks back to his seat and is stunned when Billie walks up to give a eulogy.

Billie: I don't have much to say and pardon my glasses. Recent events have taken their toll on me, as I'm sure they have for everyone here. Anyway, I just had to say that, while I didn't know him that long, in the time I knew Frankie it was easy to figure out what kind of guy he was. Kind, selfless, intelligent...as they say, he's what every girl dreams of. The perfect man. I'm sure Frankie would say he's not perfect but I've never seen anyone come as close as he did. The world lost a great man. A man who made a difference. Who did alot of good and would've did a whole lot more.

Billie turns to Frankie's coffin, puts her hand on it, and says:

    Billie: Rest in peace.

The scene then fades into Bo, who is standing behind a crying Kim in her wheelchair on the altar.

Kim: I was away alot so my time with Frankie was limited. I regret that. But ever since he came into our lives he has been nothing but a great man, a great friend, and, a great brother. He didn't need the Brady blood in him to make him a Brady (camera pans to Bo). He has and will always be one of us. We love you Frankie.

As Kim breaks down, Bo comforts her and then says:

Bo: Frankie was the kind of guy we all strive to be like. Compassionate, kind, honorable...almost too good to be true. He's the sort of guy that other guys are jealous of because they usually have it all. Well, Frankie didn't have it all and that didn't matter to him. The guy never found the happiness he deserved, mostly because he was more concerned with others. Didn't phase him and that should be admired. It's a lesson we can all learn in selflessness.

Bo turns and says to Frankie's coffin.

Bo: We all wish we could be at least half the man you were Frankie. Goodbye, buddy.

As Bo and Kim step down, Caroline moves to go up and Kayla says she wants to go with her. Caroline says she doesn't have to but Kayla insists. Caroline wheels Kayla up with her and Kayla asks to go first. Caroline tells her to go ahead.

Kayla: I don't know if I have the strength to really do this but we all have suffered great losses recently so...for Frankie.

Kayla then breaks down as Steve and Hope watch from the vestibule. Caroline comforts her and says it's ok. She doesn't have to talk.

Kayla: Why did this happen? So much loss...our family has been through enough. Roman can't even be here mourning with us. My baby...Frankie...it's not right!!

Bo comes up and comforts Kayla. He suggests coming back to the pew with him, saying it's too much for her right now. Kayla nods and looks at Frankie's coffin.

Kayla: I really wanted to say something. Steve and I were the ones that found you and Max. There was always a special bond between us. I just can't...do this right now. Please understand. I love you. And, please, take care of my baby up there. Make sure he or she isn't lonely. Please. I love you, Frankie. I love you.

Bo takes a crying Kayla back to the pew as an emotional Caroline speaks.

Caroline: When Frankie and Max came to us, Shawn and I fell in love instantly. The innocence, the love they both had to give...and that has never changed. Both of them grew into fine men. Caring for others, hard working...you couldn't ask for more as a parent. I never thought of them as adopted. Neither did Shawn. They are just as much our children as Roman, Kimberly, Bo, and Kayla. I just hope Frankie knew how much he was loved. And that Max does too (camera pans to Max, who nods). Frankie had so much more love to give. So much more knowledge to share. So much more to do that could make our world so much better. People like him are needed. That is why it hurts more when they are taken, in their prime. He will be missed a great deal by all he crossed paths with. By all who loved him.

Caroline turns and kisses the coffin, wiping away tears and saying:

Caroline: Goodbye, my son. Your mother loves you.

Caroline then walks back as Max walks up and embraces her, saying "thank you." Caroline says she loves him and Max does the same as he goes up to the altar as Abby watches tearfully.

Max: Growing up, my brother was all I had. He always knew what to do, what to say...in many ways, he had to play the role of father and big brother to me. Even when the Brady's adopted us. Him and I had this bond. Every single time I had a problem I would go right to him. I didn't even think about it. See, we may have ended up in a great family but it was still the two of us. We just understood each other. He always strived to get the best out of me. He wanted me to have the best. Great advice, always looking out for me...the perfect big brother. As many times as he gave me advice, I used to give him some too. I used to tell him to go get a life. A girl. Whatever. He would smile and tell me to just worry about myself. That is who Frankie was. That is what we all will miss. That is what I will miss. How I will go on, who knows. He was my anchor. He saved me more times then I can count.

Max turns to the coffin and says:

Max: I will pay you back for all you did for me, bro. I'll make you proud. I won't fail. I will be the best I can be. It will be harder without you but you always said I had to learn the hard way. I'll do my best and remember everything you told me. Everything you taught me. Man, I'll miss you. I love you, bro. I pray that you know that. I pray that you know how much.

Max then steps down and returns to his pew as Abby comforts him. Victor turns to Greta in their pew and asks if she wants to say something. Greta is silent and distraught. Victor decides he wants to say something and gets up and walks up to the altar.

Victor: I didn't know Frankie Brady all too well. Not until recently when he become an important person in my newfound daughter's life. It didn't take long before I noticed the qualities many of you mentioned here today. He was a man of honor, dignity, and respect. His selflessness knew no bounds and his courage and bravery can not be questioned. Especially after what he did for my daughter. Frankie saved her life on New Year's Eve and tragically will never have the chance to receive the amount of praise and thanks he deserves. For all he has done. He will be sorely missed in many ways.

Victor turns to the coffin and says:

Victor: Thank you. For saving my daughter. For giving her and me a chance to make some wonderful memories. Something you will never have the chance to do with Greta due to your great sacrifice. I will never forget. I just can't truly express the depth of my appreciation. Rest in peace, Frankie.

Victor walks over to Caroline and gives his condolences. Caroline stands and embraces him, thanking him for his words and comfort. Victor smiles, nods, and walks off and back to his pew. He looks at Greta, who seems to be in her own world. Maggie encourages her to go ahead. Greta, after a few moments, finally snaps out of it, and says she has to do this...for Frankie. She wheels up and, wiping away tears and fighting back more, says:

Greta: I didn't think I could come here today. Nor did I think I could speak up here. It's all so soon and so fast. It's like my mother all over again but, this isn't about me or my pain. It's about Frankie and honoring him. That is why I'm here and now up here in front of all of you. I'm still drawing my strength from him. You all know what kind of man he was. So many of you mentioned that today. I didn't know him long. We started working together with Jack and Billie and just became friends from there. Then, along the way, something happened. It took both of us awhile to realize it. Then it took both of us awhile to admit it to ourselves and to each other. That will always be my regret. Not telling Frankie how I felt when he told me.

Greta turns toward Frankie's coffin, as tears stream down her face, saying:

Greta: There you were...telling me the words I always wanted to hear from a man. I love you. You were pouring your heart out. My dream was coming true. I finally found love. We both finally knew. It was our moment and I said nothing. You will never know how sorry I am. You saved my life and while we are falling to the ground you tell me you love me. What do I do? Nothing. I wait and tell you on your deathbed. I am so sorry, Frankie. I never deserved you or your love. Just know that I love you. I do. With everything that I am. I just hope you can forgive me for not saying it sooner. I...love you. I LOVE YOU FRANKIE!!

Greta breaks down on the coffin as Victor and Jack rush up and comfort her as she yells out she loves Frankie hysterically. We then see a montage set to FAITH HILL'S "THERE YOU'LL BE"-CLICK HERE TO PLAY FOR THE REST OF THE EPISODE'S MONTAGE SCENES!!!of Fr. Jansen blessing the coffin as a grief stricken Greta is comforted by Victor while Kim, Caroline, Bo, and Kayla console each other and Abby consoles Max. We then see the congregation follow as the pall bearers (Bo, Shane, Max, Jack, Victor, and Doug) carry the coffin out. The scene then shifts to the Brady Pub. Night has fallen and the funeral guests are now sitting around, conversing about all that has happened, sharing memories of Frankie. Tony and Anna embrace Caroline, Kayla and Kim, expressing condolences. Alice embraces Greta, who thanks her for coming. Alice tells her she has always been like family to her. Greta thanks her and embraces her. Celeste, Abe, and Lexie are talking to Max and Bo, expressing how sorry they are.

Meanwhile, Jack wonders where Billie is and asks if Abby has seen her. Abby shakes her head as the scene fades to...an alley outside the Pub, where Billie is drinking out of a flask. She hears someone coming and bolts. Jack walks out in the alley, looks around, and then wonders out loud where Billie has gone to. The scene shifts back into the Pub as Jack walks backs in. Greta wheels up to him and says she needs him to take her somewhere. Victor and Maggie walk up and remind her she needs to go back to the hospital. Greta says she knows but needs to go somewhere first. Jack agrees to take her, saying he will bring her back. Victor is reluctant but agrees. The scene then shifts to...

The cemetery, where Frankie's grave is fresh and Hope and Steve look down upon it. Hope tells Steve it's all their fault and then breaks down. Steve tries to console her but she falls to the ground, telling Frankie how sorry she is for what happened and how she will never forgive herself. Steve then kneels down and comforts her, admitting he is sorry too. So sorry. Steve begins to break down as well as Adrienne appears and looks on at this scene as the scene fades back to the Pub, where Caroline is looking at a picture of Frankie with the family. Bo comes up behind her and embraces her. Kim, Kayla, and Max also come over and then family comes together in an embrace as funeral guests look on, including Maggie and Victor, who can't help but be touched by the scene. The scene then fades to...

    SALEM PARK

Jack wheels Greta near a gazebo. He tells Greta it's too cold to be out but she says she had to come there. Frankie took her there many times...for dinner, dancing, looking at the stars...it's their special place. Greta begins to break down as she remembers good times with Frankie. She then looks to the heavens and says:

Greta: I love you. Please know that. Please never forget.

Jack then kneels down, takes Greta in his arms, and says:

Jack: He knows and he won't. He won't forget. Just like you'll never forget.

Greta looks at Jack and smiles as tears stream down her face. The scene then pans up on an overhead shot of Jack holding Greta in his arms as they look to the skies above while the Faith Hill "There You'll Be" Montage ends and the scene slowly faces to black.

    JANUARY 23, 2008-EPISODE #420: SHAKEN

    “Marlena!!!!!!!!”

Roman tries to run around his car and he gets closer to the house but the flames and fire are keeping him back. He kneels down in front of the car as he sees most of the house either destroyed or engulfed in flames. He calls out once more....

    “MARLENA!!!!!!................”

    As the top floor explodes.........

And then he suddenly wakes up,in his jail cell. It has been the worst one so far. Lucas stirs in his bunk and Roman is glad he didn’t wake him. He stands up and goes to the bars, where he can see the moonlit sky across the way. He doesn’t know why, after 23 years, why he is all of a sudden having these nightmares. And now.....he’s locked up in prison....for murder. Murdering the man who kidnapped his wife and daughter......

    And killed his son.

But, the one part that he won’t admit to Marlena, or to anyone else..........

Is why.......why is he also having dreams about the year and a half he was missing and held by Stefano? The dreams are coming back full force......the plastic surgery.......the memory lapses.....the intense pain that he suffered through. As Roman stands looking into the night, he wonders what it all means....

And where these nightmares are leading to.

    DIMERA PENTHOUSE

Walking outside his penthouse, Stefano and Lincoln discuss current events....

Stefano: And, my friend......how is Roman Brady faring in prison?
Lincoln: He is doing well, from what I hear.
Stefano: Good. Make sure nothing happens to him. Marlena would never forgive me if something ever did.
Lincoln: You still love her......after all these years.
Stefano: Always have.....always will, my friend. Anyway, did you get that information on the man I asked you for?
Lincoln: Yes. It’s upstairs in your suite.
Stefano: Excellent, Lincoln. Now.......the next phase of my plan will start coming together. There are two men who are very important to me. I want them found.......and brought to me, when the time is necessary.
    Lincoln: Understood.
Stefano: The one thing that must never happen......is for Roman Brady to retrieve his entire memory. If he does..........

It will mean complete destruction......for us all.

As both men continue down the sidewalk..........

    SALEM CITY HALL

Marlena sits in Abe’s office, waiting for him to arrive. As he walks in, he already says he knows about Roman’s nightmares and there isn’t too much that can be done. Marlena says there is......she can be made his doctor while he’s in prison, so he can get the mental help he needs. Abe doesn’t think it will help and Marlena says that Roman will actually be her first patient as she returns to the field. She helped him once before when he regained his life back in 1986 and she can do it again.

After a few moments, Abe says that, for her and his best friend, he’ll try his best. But.......Marlena better not expect any miracles. As Abe says he needs his office to make some phone calls, a happy Marlena runs out and heads home.

    KIRIAKIS MANSION

Bo sits looking out a window and thinking of Hope. He starts to wonder if the two of them can ever work out their problems......when he receives a call on his cell phone. It is a woman on the other end, speaking in a distorted tone, asking if he can meet her at the Pub right away. When Bo starts to demand who is this woman, she simply says.....

Woman: Bo, please.........just do as I say. Your life and the life of your family........may depend on it.

The woman suddenly hangs up and Bo, after a few anxious moments, grabs his jacket and heads out to the Pub.

    BRADY PUB

Twenty minutes later, Bo walks briskly up to the window of the door. He looks in and then opens the door. He steps briefly in and looks around.....and does not see any mysterious woman sitting among the regulars. He sighs deeply and prepares to leave. As he closes the door and turns around.....

The woman who called him stands before him. Shocked almost out of his shoes, all Bo can say is.....

    Bo: No........you........after all these years.

    UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Steve waits around the corner from Kayla’s room. He waits for Stephanie to leave and, after a half hour, she comes walking out. She doesn’t see her father and Steve waits for her to round the corner as he slips into Kayla’s room.

Once inside, he looks at his beautiful wife and once again says how sorry he is for everything. She wakes up, saying that he should have thought of that before he slept with Hope. Steve tries to reason with her, saying that Stefano and Lawrence Alamain are the reason why so much of his life has been taken from him. Kayla says that maybe he should blame Orpheus as well. After all, he did kidnap her all those years ago. Maybe she should have used that as an excuse to screw around on him.

Steve says that isn’t fair and Kayla tells him not to say the word fair after what has happened. She also says she doesn’t know if she can ever forgive him. Steve is stunned and silent and Kayla tells him to get out and to not come back until she says it’s ok.

Steve looks at her and silently turns to leave. As he walks out, he readjusts his eye patch and, as a tear comes down his face, he slowly walks off down the hall....

And the scene fades to black.
