  1. IA, NBA. If Rinna were smart, she'd take the money and run. ED, too. Lisa Vanderpump might be terrific, but the others are just too toxic and I believe they can only bring out the worst in anyone who encounters them.
  2. Here's what I think: Kim was talking out of her proverbial ass when she made that comment in Amsterdam. (By the way, that -- and Lisa's hellacious reaction afterward -- is what made me pay attention to this show for the first time.) She doesn't know anymore about Harry Hamlin than the rest of us do. But, you know that old adage, "where there's smoke, there's fire"? I think Lisa's reaction is very telling. I think there IS something going on in the Rinna/Hamlin marriage, and even though Kim was (and remains) clueless, she also struck a nerve.
  3. Re: RHOBH All I can say is, it's hard for me to believe you have too much pride to do ANY thing for money when you are on a trashy "reality" series such as RHOBH. Love you, Kim Richards -- and you, too, Vix -- but let's be real. (Lisa Rinna has said on record she'll never go back to DAYS again -- but if they pulled up to her house with a wheelbarrow full of cash...? You know she will backtrack and eat crow like an insane mofo. And that is what I love about the girl.)
  4. I'm worried about Susan Flannery's weight. At her age, that might pose a health risk.
  5. His is the kind of rich, booming and authoritative voice that's lacking, IMO, in soaps today. I see now why Bill Bell felt an actor's voice was so important in terms of casting.
  6. I've seen the miniseries and that's about it. It'd be nice, though, to picture Jaime Lyn Bauer, Lee Grant and Donna Mills working side-by-side on the same series.
  7. Nabbing Genie Francis for SANTA BARBARA might have been a coup...but I think she would've been better as a slightly older Laken Lockridge.
  8. True. Aside from "Bosom Buddies," I can't think of any sitcom produced by Miller/Milkis/Boyett that wasn't inane. It's as if they borrowed all the worst elements of Garry Marshall's work -- the crude, slapstick humor, the annoying catchphrases and characterizations, the "awwwww" hug-and-learns at the climax of the second act -- and forgot about the rest.
  9. Unless Michelle comes out of the closet or Jesse and Becky's twin boys are revealed to be meth dealers, I'm out.
  10. I wouldn't swear to it but I believe that's Steve Rankin as the pre-Denny Albee Drew Marston. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0710292/?ref_=tt_cl_t13
  11. From my understanding, a story consultant can pitch ideas from time to time, but mostly they are there to assist the head and associate writers as they lay out story every week, debating whether a particular story "beat" is effective and, as in the case of Harding Lemay and every soap he has consulted on, whether characters' motivations are logical and apparent. Ken Corday used to employ story consultants on DAYS often during the 1990's.
  12. I might be down for a GL reboot that updates the original story of Rev. Ruthledge and his church in Five Points.
  13. Ironically, Chris Robinson's biggest role in daytime WAS as a recast.
  14. Perhaps if PASSIONS had cast Philip Brown, I might have watched more often.
  15. By most accounts I have read, Marland loved actors and loved collaborating with them, for lack of a better word. If Lenore Kasdorf wanted to explore other, less "whorish" facets of Rita's character, I think Marland would have tried something -- unless, that is, he wanted her to go.
  16. MEK. Before he lost his joy in life and in art.
  17. Same. I think Allen Potter was a producer who believed his own press. Which other producer would have his show's announcer say, "THE DOCTORS, the EMMY AWARD-WINNING program dedicated...." or have that Emmy on some kind of turntable and run underneath GL's closing credits?
  18. Steven Ford wasn't much of an actor, but he sure was easy on the eyes.
  19. David Canary had good chemistry with just about any woman on AMC.
  20. On the bright side, his beard is not braided.
  21. I'd imagine there would be some drama surrounding the reveal of Miranda's paternity. Miranda would bolt either for L.A. or NYC. There could be some shady music producer who'd seduce her and exploit her talents as a singer and songwriter. That would bring us to his murder and her trial. Of course, no way would she have done it. But the ordeal would have brought her and A.J. together. They'd fall in love, get married, drop out of school, earn their G.E.D.'s, refuse any and all help from their respective families. But, in time, the pressures would have been insurmountable. Miranda would learn she's pregnant right around the time A.J. admits he cheated on her. They'd split up, A.J. (with his new bride) would have returned to the Chandler family AND started work at Chandler Enterprises...while Miranda would be looking ahead to single motherhood (with help from Bianca, Bianca's new girlfriend (Jane) and even a returning Erica) and launching the Fusion music label.

We'll probably have to wait until the summer to see who will join the show.
  23. He looks like he should be on tour with David Crosby and Graham Nash.
  24. Chances are, they won't be fighting over the same man.
