  1. Better yet, Ruby could have been inspired to pay Opal to seduce her husband in order to net herself a hefty divorce settlement -- with the big twist being, of course, Opal and her brother-in-law developing genuine feelings for each other.
  2. "Two, four, six, eight -- all us girls are three months late!" Sorry, I'll go away now.
  3. It would have been so much better, though, without that '80s power ballad.
  4. I tell you it's a crime we have everything from that period of time EXCEPT actual, full-length episodes of the show.
  5. I can't see Lisa wearing that outfit either. It just points up how different her take on Ava was from Roya's.
  6. I was so sure they were going to switch right in the middle of the first scene in Kate's hospital room.
  7. Except for Doris Day, any actress from the "golden era" of Hollywood could have made "Angela Channing" her own. Mostly because, the majority of actresses from that period were used to working in high-gloss, emotionally wrought melodramas. (Don't get me wrong, though, Jane Wyman was literally the only thing that kept me interested at all in FC. Well, her and Ana-Alicia.)
  8. I think so. Remember when she was in "The Lady Eve" with Henry Fonda and she said, "I need him like the axe needs the turkey"? Classic.
  9. "Murder, She Baked"? As Mrs. Fletcher herself would say: "Good Lord!".
  10. Barbara Stanwyck.
  11. That's not as strange as the dream I had where Agnes Nixon had penned an episode of "A Different World."
  12. Chances are, if ATWT were to premiere today, TPTB would work very hard to paint Edith as the "victim" in that triangle, with everyone in Oakdale going out of their way to shame Claire for being so mean to her husband's mistress and not letting Jim leave her and be with his "one true love."
  13. Unfortunately, as others here have attested, I think Ellen Stewart's marriage to David, as well as the rapid aging of all her children, limited her potential and growth as a character in the end.
  14. This article actually piques my interest in casting, not just for soaps but for all television and film.
  15. I love how the Hayeses look in the first photo -- but, then again, I love how they look in every photo.
  16. If AMC had stayed strong creatively, then I think they would have handled the time slot change. LOVING, though, might have been a tough sell for many viewers, regardless of time slot. That, in turn, could have affected OLTL's ratings (although probably not GH's).
  17. Sarah Felder stood to fill the void that Kate Mulgrew created with her departure. She was bright, attractive, charming and (above all else) a damn fine actress. It's just a shame ABC didn't feel the same way.
  18. Lisa Rinna might be "I told you so"'ing all over the place, but I can't imagine Eileen Davidson doing the same. She seemed much too classy for gloating. If anything, she's probably very concerned and afraid for Kim (and for Kyle and their whole family) and hoping she will get the help she obviously needs. (Not that no one else is concerned for Kim's well-being, but you know what I mean.) Although Kim is a grown woman and should be able to think for and take care of herself, I truly see Brandi as nothing but an enabler for her at this point and if Kim has ANY sense at all, she will recognize that as well and behave accordingly (meaning, cut Brandi and all other potential enablers out of her life, repair and heal her relationships with her family, etc.).
  19. It's still so ridiculous to me that she was written off GL.
  20. Was that the entire GL cast at that time?
  21. Firing Ana-Alicia and attempting to fill that void with Kristian Alfonso was stupid (personally, I would have kept AA and maybe introduce Pilar as Melissa's half-sister) but I do give the production team that season credit for trying to introduce a rich-vs.-poor element to the series with Pilar's family and the returning Agrettis and bring it back to the doings in and around the vineyards after previous show runner Jeff Freilich had turned FC into some super-campy espionage drama. I think Michael Filerman, who had re-inserted himself into the show's production after being hands-off almost from the beginning (due mostly to creative differences with Earl Hamner), made the changes he made, including firing Ana-Alicia, in order to leave HIS mark on the series. Pure and simple. But, in his defense, he did admit years later during an interview with someone from FC's German fan club (I think?), he really made some blunders throughout that season.
  22. At the risk of sounding like Lisa Rinna, I believe Kim and Brandi are major addicts and that continuing with this show is just enabling their respective, self-destructive habits.
