I'd feel sorry for Wallace, but can you really feel sorry for someone who has been fired from a show that is way past its prime? If anything, I think "The View" and ABC did the girl a HUGE favor, because now she's available for other, more intelligent shows.

I have a feeling the "friend" Phillips is talking about is Erika Alexander. Don't ask me why, I just do.

Allow me to echo marceline, Vix, dragonflies and their respective gifs, Julia. And if you get banned while he doesn't, then there is truly no justice in this world.

    Game. Set. Match.

My theory: Whoopi learned the hard way that winning an Oscar means zilch in terms of improving one's career. These days, she would be luckier than lucky to land another "Jumpin' Jack Flash" or "Burglar."

IA. Even if an actor were to support him after all this, their handlers (agents, managers and whatnot) would steer him or her away from working on a project with Cos for the sake of their career.
  7. Mr. Nixon comes across as such a wonderful husband and father in that article. Agnes was truly blessed to have a man like that in her life.
  8. ICAM. We say this about a lot of shows, but EON never should have left the airwaves. It had much too much life still left in it.
  9. Danny Tanner, who makes SNL's Anal Retentive Chef look like an effing slob, being married to a younger, Black woman who can't get enough of his junk is just about the craziest thing ever. And I'm saying this at the end of a week when Rachel Dolezal and that one overzealous cop down in Texas have been in the news.
  10. No, if Netflix could finance the return of any soap, P&G or otherwise, it'd should be EON. I've said it before, but that soap in particular had a premise that could work in any era and on any viewing platform.
  11. Can't you just see Liza arguing with Marian about this?
  12. I think the woman on the far left is Doris Quinlan. But I am probably mistaken.
  13. She was deemed a flight risk because she told the flight attendant to go !@#$%^&*] herself? Seriously? Granted, it might not have been the classiest way to handle the situation, but it wasn't as if Jennifer Bassey had screamed "Allahu Akbar!" and then threatened to bomb the plane in the name of ISIS.
  14. Didn't Kathleen Turner go to rehab a few years back?
  15. Will was good for Dixie because having him around gave her something to do other than anguish over Tad. Simple as that.
  16. AMC and Megan McTavish tried twice to make Del happen -- the first time, with Winsor Harmon; the second, with Alec "So You Want to Be a Soap Star?" Musser. Probably because they realized too late what killing off Will Cortlandt meant for Dixie in the long run. Still, I think the character itself was such a waste of airtime and attention.
  17. Probably not. EDGE's only real problem on ABC was the affiliate clearances or lack thereof. According to the EON Homepage, I think, because EON aired in a late afternoon/early evening slot, many affiliates either aired it in different time slots (usually late nights) or not at all. But where it DID air in the regular slot (4/3 pm, I think?) it often performed quite well. Again, according to EON Homepage, ABC was actually quite reluctant to cancel EDGE but they weren't willing to assume production costs in order to keep it on the air. P&G, OTOH, wanted to cancel the show for the simple reason that continuing to produce it was costing the company too much money.
  18. IIRC, Henry Slesar remarked once how no one had interfered with how he actually wrote the show until it switched networks. Ironically, though, P&G fired Slesar while ABC wanted to keep him (hence, his stint as HW at OLTL).
  19. To run the SVU squad? I wish it WERE possible. Olivia might have seniority, but she is just not credible enough to run...well, anything. Honestly, if not for the fact that Mariska Hargitay has become the "face" of this show, I would have no trouble with seeing her gone. In fact, there are a great many things I'd like to see gone from this show, including the "L&O" half of its title, the opening sequence and title cards, and even the music cues (including the iconic "dun-dun"). I'd relaunch the show as just "Special Victims Unit," or "SVU," without the L&O attachment and start fresh with a whole new squad (except for Kelli Giddish, perhaps, in order to maintain SOME continuity) with a minimum of personal baggage.
  20. The "So You Want to Write a Soap Opera?" Contest: Fanfic before there really was such a thing for soap fans.
  21. Don't get me wrong, I happen to enjoy Carisi...but I realize how annoying he can be to many fans. At this point, I'd much rather see SVU end than bring in another writing team. Warren Leight brought in a little "fresh air" but I think he fell into the same melodramatic trap as his predecessor, Neal Baer. It just can't be easy to keep a series about sex crimes from growing stale and repetitive.
  22. Are you sure Billy Magnussen wasn't cast as someone else? Like, say, Nicole Brown Simpson?
  23. So, Amaro's gone. I can't say I'm surprised by his decision to retire from the force and start fresh in California. I feel like the writers probably wrote him into a corner -- if such a thing is possible in the L&O universe -- and that they acknowledged as much by having Tucker from IAB tell Benson that the department would never promote him given his record. Plus -- and I'm sure most, if not all, would disagree -- but the more I watched Danny Pino on SVU, the more I felt he was just repeating his old role on "Cold Case." I've always felt casting him after coming from another procedural was not a good idea; and whether they finally realized that or not, and whether Pino is leaving of his own accord or the producers just feel it was time for a change, the point is, I actually believe the decision to write him out was a smart one. Now, Mr. Wolf, perhaps you could look into hiring a new female to join the squad next season? And maybe -- just maybe -- she could be an AA or Asian-American? Let Olivia take a more administrative role as the head of the squad, thus giving her more time to raise Noah; and give either Fin or Amanda a new partner to work with while the other continues showing the ropes to Cousin Oliver -- I mean, Carisi. Oh, yeah, and get a better actor to portray the ADA. Making Raul Esparza the first male ADA in SVU's history was a nice touch but...I dunno...he doesn't seem all that electrifying as a performer.
