Not that Sen. Lewis NEEDED to shut down Trump and everyone else who said he was "all talk," but I'm glad he sat with the protestors if only to put them in their places. Isn't it ironic that government employees are being told to ignore what they see on TV when we know how much TV (and Fox News, in particular) is shaping Trump's views and policies? This could be from the same page in TrumpCo.'s handbook: make some preposterous threat or allegation, then walk it back, all with the goal of creating confusion within the people and distrust with the media. It's a lot like what I saw yesterday on FB: specifically, the suggestion that Trump keeps bringing up allegations of voter fraud in order to get citizens to distrust the voting process and to disenfranchise large sections of this country from participating in future elections. That's why I STILL won't take off the table the possibility of Trump rewriting laws that restrict all presidents to two terms.

That moment when you feel the need to defend a president you were critical of against another blatantly racist remark. Thank goodness, though, my FB friend wasn't involved in this exchange. He didn't even call him "Barry," which is something even I have been guilty of.

You know, Carl's scenario, which he posted upthread, could happen, but so could investigating Trump's claims and learning that, thanks to voter fraud, he didn't even have the needed electoral votes to win the damn thing. I'm not saying it will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. If he really wants to torture suspected terrorists, he should make them watch his performance on the Emmy Awards with Megan Mullally.

I feel the same way about "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" and "Saturday Night Live." When both shows went out of their way to normalize that monster, I was done. Same goes for "Today." Matt Lauer should have followed Billy Bush out the door, IMO. Honestly, were ANY network or cable shows left unscathed from Trump?

You know what I think everyone should do about immigration? Nothing. Just leave it alone and let Trump keep being the nimrod he's shown himself to be. Trust me, after six more months of his crap, no foreigners will ever want to step foot in America again. In fact, Trump will be lucky if he doesn't end up with an American refugee crisis on his hands.

I'm with Julia and marceline. Go ahead and launch an investigation of voter fraud. Hold a second election if you gotta. If they do and Trump wins the popular vote the second time around, then that petulant asshat will have the vindication he pathetically needs. BUT, if he loses again or the votes stay more-or-less the same, OR if they launch an investigation and determine his claims are without merit, then I don't want to hear another damn word on this matter from him OR his minions.
