  1. Delila truly was one of my faves on that show.
  2. For God's sake, I wish Miss Perry would hire a REAL writing staff w/ qualified and capable people.
  3. Believe it or not, I think it is possible. I mean, there's NOTHING that says whatever remained of the Thirteen (long story) faked Maggie's death as retaliation against Richard.
  4. That probably depends on who you ask. I wasn't as much of a fan of FC as I had been of KNOTS LANDING or even DALLAS. However, I think the consensus among the majority of fans is that FC was consistent until the penultimate season, when then-EP Jeff Freilich was forced out (according to another interview on the fan club site, Lorimar felt the show was getting too expensive) and Melissa Agretti (Ana-Alicia) killed off. After that, it was a pretty rapid slide in quality.
  5. On the official Falcon Crest Fan Club website there is an interview with writer-producer Robert L. McCullough, who reveals how problematic Abby Dalton (Julia) was to the writers. Among other things, she'd call up and complain how she had so little to do in given episodes, even though she read ONLY her scenes and no one else's. I feel like the decision to have her be Carlo Agretti's murderer and then later go off the rails was their way of keeping her on the show at a minimum, thus eliminating the problem. (BTW, allmc, why can't I post on your status updates? Do you know?)
  6. Tyler Perry gets nothing ELSE right, so it doesn't surprise me he knows nothing about criminal procedures either.
  7. If shows like DAYS and Y&R are upset about viewers uploading full episodes and clips online, then -- here's a thought -- why not make their archives available online for a fee? Just a thought!
  8. True. Sadly. OTOH, primetime TV (and especially cable) seems to be more welcoming of those with "unconventional" looks. So, uh, if you're out there and reading, Andy? KEEP HOPE ALIVE.
  9. For some reason, I always look at MEB as a less ingratiating version of JFP.
  10. According to Linda Gibboney, then-EP Mary-Ellis Bunim fired her for what she (Bunim) considered unprofessional behavior. Either Gibboney was recovering from pneumonia or had recovered from it; however, she refused to wear a bathing suit that a particular scene called for even after Bunim came down on set and instructed her to.
  11. He might have been asked, but I think Kavovit probably saw himself as someone who'd done daytime and moved on. You know, like Brian Bloom? Of course, I think both would have been better off coming back to soaps, but that's just my opinion.
  12. I can't recall exactly. (Maybe someone has a scan of the interview in question?) But I believe it was along the lines of, "Well, I guess I COULD have stayed in California [instead of returning to NYC for GUIDING LIGHT] and went to B&B...". Again, I can't recall the quote, but the insinuation was that B&B was, by her estimation, an unchallenging show to work on.
  13. Marcy Walker caught some flack, too, when she made a disparaging remark about B&B during an interview with Michael Logan for TV Guide. Walker denied making the comment, but Logan said he had it on tape.
  14. I don't care what ANY one says, Andrew Kavovit was fantastic as Paul Ryan and I wish he were back on TV.

Wait -- Shabba-Doo abused "Sunshine" from "Harlem Nights"? Oh! Lawd! What in the hell is wrong with some of these folks?
  16. Thanks, danfling! I always thought they re-casted with Michelle Phillips. I had no idea Sheila MacRae was on SEARCH.

You think he was tending to all those 13 children? Stop. Just stop. If say anything more about PMT, I'm liable to find his greasy ass and drag him out into the street by his chest hairs.
  18. Unpopular Opinion Time: I think DYNASTY missed a GIANT opportunity to shake itself (and viewers) up when they didn't kill off Blake Carrington in the Moldavian Massacre.
  19. I look at Tina Andrews and I can't help but remember when she appeared as J.J.'s pregnant gf on "Good Times."

He did WHAT??? Oh, HELL no! Somebody need to cut that s.o.b.!
  21. IMO, that is indicative of DYNASTY's biggest overall flaw. They were so hung up on dramatic, jaw-dropping, story twists and turns, they often left character development and narrative logic by the old wayside.
  22. Plus, Alexis never saw herself as "bad" anymore than J.R. Ewing (or Angela Channing, or Abby Ewing) did. She ALWAYS believed she was justified in what she did.
  23. Thanks, DD! It's moments like THAT that make me love Marland's work all the more, lol!
  24. They could spin it however they wished, but the truth is, Felicia was an amnesiac for the second time, and that tells me the writers were stumped as to what to do with her.
