  1. But you know who will be there? Uncle Jesse's new fiancee, played by his real-life spouse Caitlin McHugh, whose character will help him grieve the loss of his beloved wife, Becky, at the hands of a drunken streetcar operator.
  2. It's like a "Full House"/"Desperate Housewives" crossover from Hell.
  3. "Alternative lifestyle"? Is that ridiculous euphemism back in vogue?
  4. Truthfully, I would be glad to see Patty back on Y&R, if Andrea Evans were playing the part again, and they were committed to rehabilitating Patty.
  5. I think I've read on this board how Lilibet Stern chose not to renew, and how Bill Bell and the rest kept hoping she would change her mind right until the very end.
  6. If it is, then he has a dark and twisted sense of humor. If it isn't, then he's just plain self-deluded.
  7. Far be it from me to begrudge anyone's attempts to build a college/trust fund; but seriously, casting directors, there ARE other, talented young actors out there besides McKenna. Nia is ROCKING that Penny-from-"Good Times" puff.
  8. It would have made more sense to have Todd be the oldest Williams child anyway.
  9. I'm surprised Y&R never had Nikki hook up with Stuart Brooks or even John Abbott. She's the quintessential old man's trophy wife.
  10. We might get some leeway, though, if some of us on the left would quit participating in the Purity Olympics. I'm starting to think cutthroat Berners are working BTS to pick off the other contenders and leave the field completely open for their guy (who I still say will never win against Trump, no way, no how).
  11. You could probably blame that on the change in HW's (from Doug Marland to Ethel and Mel Brez).
  12. Oh, come on. Sometimes, a cigar -- or, in this case, a banana -- is just that.
  13. Well, that's your opinion.
  14. Mother Waters seems to be getting some [!@#$%^&*] done.
  15. If she doesn't follow your advice, Jane, she'll end up being a "one and done" Congresswoman.
  16. Nah. And you're right, Julia, it IS a Republican way of thinking. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't even suggest it. But it looks as if the GOP wants to cut everything and leave it up to the rest of the country to keep it going. I simply can't figure out what else to do. It's either we keep organizations such as SO alive through donations and the like, or we watch as the GOP turns off its life support forever. Man, this government can really depress the hell out of you.
  17. Rose Nylund: "When the mask falls, it really makes a thud!"
  18. That's when methods such as fundraising and underwriting must kick in. You can't rely on the government anymore to subsidize worthwhile causes such as the Special Olympics. That much is clear.
  19. ICAM, DD. My immediate reaction: "Wait a minute -- she STAYED with the s.o.b.?" My second reaction (after reading the review): "He never actually molested any children? Yeah, right!" And therein, people, lies the problem (at least with me) with this story. Forget about her ill-advised decision not to dramatize any scenes with her husband. I don't give a damn about Corman's personal struggle, because I simply cannot fathom any wife and mother -- especially a wife and mother who was herself the victim of sexual harassment, as the review discloses -- allowing her children to remain with a man who indulged in his perverted fantasies online. I mean, what's to stop him from "graduating" to performing sexual acts on their kids (if he hasn't already)? I'm sorry, but she could've kept this bullshit to herself, instead of asking people to empathize with her in some ridiculous one-person stage ([!@#$%^&*])show.
  20. And all because Obama hurt his feelings.
  21. It says a lot when you can go toe-to-toe with the likes of Elizabeth Hubbard and Beverlee McKinsey and not vanish into the scenery.
  22. Same here. I forgive her, but I'll be damned if I'm going to feel sorry for her. Yep. The whole damn world knows and remembers the many, many times Roseanne pushed the boundaries of civility and good taste (among other things). There's a difference, though, between disrespecting the national anthem and calling a Black woman an ape (and no, she doesn't get a pass just by claiming she didn't know Valerie Jarrett was Black -- which I don't buy anyway, but I digress). That, along with the Hitler tweet, was indefensible and inexcusable. Point blank, period. Yes, in our society, every individual is entitled to express exactly what is on his or her mind, even if it disgusts everybody else to hear it. But, freedom of speech doesn't also mean freedom from consequences. If you compare an African-American to an ape on social media, then you damn well better expect there to be pushback. People who keep defending Roseanne (and others like her) need to remember that.
  23. In the words of Sammy Davis, Jr.: "don't do the crime, if you can't do the time."
