  1. This is pretty much what I've been saying all along. It sucks that we have to look to another white male to "save" us, but that's where the current administration has put us. (Not that Trump losing in 2020 is guaranteed, but thinking outside the proverbial box with another woman or even person of color to oppose him will result only in another four years with that idiot.) Thanks much, @marceline, for sharing!
  2. Early FOX was a repository of truly bizarre series. Anyone else remember "Whoops!" or "Good Grief"?
  3. The original 90210 was just one big hair-don't.
  4. Damn, this year just keeps getting shittier.
  5. Let that be a lesson to everyone: never try out new stand-up material in front of a Congressional committee.
  6. Ken Levine, a former writer/producer of "Cheers," "M*A*S*H," and about a dozen other shows, blogged about the uselessness of pundits on cable news networks -- something we know all too well. Here's the blog: kenlevine.blogspot.com Ironically, if Fox News HAD run with the story about the hush money payments, I don't believe it would have made any difference with its' viewership. Those people were going to vote for Hillary's opponent no matter what.
  7. I hope she's doing better now that she's out of rehab.
  8. Rev. Gordon (on "Good Times"): "Perhaps." I, myself, would ignore the PP/TOLN run. The production values were fine, but the storytelling was lacking. At the same time, though, I don't think you could pick up exactly where the ABC run left off. It's been seven-plus years, and maybe more in "soap opera time." Much has happened since then, both off-screen and on.
  9. So they can [!@#$%^&*] on AMC's legacy even more?
  10. Just ask Gertie Vincent. #GoodTimesReference
  11. Oh, dear God, the "Three to Get Ready" opening sequence! And that theme song! It's straight out of the Sweeney Sisters' repertoire (and I don't mean that in a good way). Interestingly, they retained Ann's original nursing career for the reboot. Schneider's entrance was just as creepy with Julie and her friend alone in the apartment than it was in the second pilot with Ann alone in the living room. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Awkward introduction aside (she comes in and starts cleaning like it's her place?), Marcia Rodd's Gail was a good supporting character who would've fit in nicely as the Rhoda to Bonnie Franklin's Ann. Too bad BF's ego wouldn't allow the spotlight to shine on anyone but her. And since when was Annie Romano married to Serpico?
  12. Number one, Bubbles might be a lot of things; "decent" is never one of them. And number two, we call him "Crazy Uncle Joe" for a reason. People will have forgotten his remark about Pence by the time of the election -- but trust me, he'll say plenty more between now and 2020 to remind folks why (as @marceline says upthread) he has run before and lost.
  13. If Trump is supposed to be such a brilliant businessman, why do so many deals die with him in charge?
  14. Meanwhile, in my home state of Oklahoma... https://www.koco.com/article/oklahoma-senate-to-vote-on-constitutional-carry-bill/26556161 I never thought I'd see the day when I would be afraid to leave my house. Because, no matter how you slice it, this bill now gives idiot Okies the license to kill. (For the love of God, will someone please get me out of here?)
  15. Michael Cohen: "I fear that if [Trump] loses the [2020 election], that there will never be a peaceful transition of power." Two thoughts: 1) Duh. 2) Am I supposed to be scared about that? Because, I'm not.
  16. Now that, and not Cohen's testimony, is news!
  17. Wait, is she looking at that dude's ass?
  18. Well said. I had no dogs in these fights -- I've been watching mostly old movies since "Titanic" -- so I could take-or-leave most of the winners. But I am very happy to hear about Regina King's win. Just imagine the kind of celebration that Lester and Mary are gonna throw for their Brenda in the building.
  19. IIRC, Calliope (who wore a wedding dress that lit up, y'all) rigged her headpiece to release doves when she and Eugene were pronounced scientist and wife. IDK if it qualifies as "best" or "worst," but Lucy Coe's red (!) dress at her and Alan Quartermaine's wedding on GH certainly was among the most memorable, lol.
  20. Six years? Has it really been that long since SF left B&B? 😮
  21. "Hawaii Five-O"? Dude.
  22. It pisses me off that series such as this one has to beg for more viewers while crap like "Last Man Standing" draws millions each week with ease. Seriously, America, what the hell is wrong with you?
  23. Ah, yes. Conboy and Bell. A love story for the ages.
  24. Jess Walton hated that line. She didn't want to say that line. She went to Bill Bell himself and pleaded with him not to make her say the line. Bell replied, "Say the line."
