  1. Frankly, I'm with Nancy Pelosi: impeachment would serve only to divide us further as a nation. Heck, it could result in states literally seceding from the union. No, as I see it, voting Trump out of office, while continuing to prosecute his cronies, is the best way to handle the situation. Let SDNY be the ones to prosecute and even incarcerate his basic ass. Among other things.
  2. You're not the first person I've heard who has said she should've run in '16. I agree with y'all, though. EW's moment has passed. Her best hope, IMO, would be to snag the VP nod with whoever runs against Trump. That way, she has an opportunity to make herself relevant once more. Oh, I feel like that's a done deal. Especially if we end up with Bernie, Buttigieg or even Beto as the nominee. (Again, I don't want to pick a horse this early in the race, but I really feel like Biden -- yes, another straight, white, older male -- is our best, safest bet against a second Trump administration). It's just like when George W. Bush ran for re-election against John Kerry. Just about everyone agreed that, had there been no 9/11, he would've been toast after one term (like his dad before him). Nevertheless, there seemed to be this ingrained notion on the voters' part that he was "entitled" to a second term, regardless of how ineffectual he had proven himself to be (and, of course, that he and his team lied us into a war we're still fighting), and that we should "let him finish what he started." Plus, I don't trust Berners anymore, after what happened in '16. If Bernie doesn't get the nomination this time, they'll have no problem voting third-party or sitting out again, just so they can screw the rest of us (again) for not letting their savior run (again).
  3. I'll admit my curiosity has been piqued, lol. I truly have no idea why Norman Lear and Jimmy Kimmel would bother with this now -- but, hey, at least I'll finally know what an AITF or "Jeffersons" episode directed by MTM/Paramount vet Jimmy Burrows is sorta like, lol.
  4. Exactly. And you know what else? If Trump is actually voted out of office, I doubt anyone from the GOP will be on-hand to shield him or his associates from the SDNY, because they would no longer be of use to them. ICAM!
  5. You know, I used to laugh about product placements on soaps. (Remember when DAYS' Caroline Brady was espousing the wonders of some heat-and-eat Asian "cuisine" to Sami and another character at Brady's Pub?) Then, I watched how the Hallmark Channel handled product placements for several of their goopy Christmas movies. Lord, have mercy, lol.
  6. I'm not kalbir, but I would say handing B&B to Brad might have been Papa Bell's worst instance of nepotism. Lauralee's receiving so much airtime on Y&R might have been...annoying BITD. (It certainly was to Terry Lester, lol). However, over time, she has shaped up into being a worthy player on the show -- to the point where it's actually a shame they don't use her, or use her more properly, more often (although, it's probably her choice not to be on contract, or featured as regularly as others). OTOH, Brad Bell EP'ing and HW'ing B&B year after miserable year is probably a textbook example of diminishing returns, and nepotism gone horribly wrong. (Ironically, I've heard it said that Lauralee, and not Brad or Bill Jr., understands their father's aesthetic better than anyone).
  7. Agree.
  8. I just wish SonyCrackle had been a real possibility for them. Moving the show there would have made sense on several levels.
  9. Like Michelle Wolf said, she burns through lies and then uses the ashes to create her smoky eye shadow.
  10. I, too, must applaud your grace under pressure, DD. I don't believe I could suffer the same slings and arrows of racism and sexism with as much dignity as you have. In fact, I know I couldn't. At this point, I'm so over and done with the Mueller report (although I certainly applaud him and his team for their diligence). We don't need anymore proof that Trump is as dangerous as they come; and as long as the GOP in the Senate refuses to do anything about him, it's all pointless anyway. Again, though, good luck in getting the GOP even to admit there was malfeasance on Russia's part, let alone do anything in the way of sanctions, criminal prosecutions, etc.
  11. I hope Berners still feel that way if/when their guy is actually elected and proves himself to be as incompetent at the gig as the orangutan we have running things now.
  12. Yep. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I almost want Bernie to get the nomination this time around, if only to prove my point that Bernie cannot, and never will, win an election of this magnitude. If they deny him the nomination again, we will NEVER hear the end of it from his supporters. Anyway, that's my belief. That's partly because Biden never knows when to STFU and stick to the g.d. script. Leave the improv at the Second City where it belongs, Crazy Uncle Joe, and just get off the stage.
  13. Why did you disqualify Yang? I, myself, have a very tough time taking him seriously. But, I thought it was just me, lol.
  14. Gary Tomlin, I believe?
  15. Trust me, if he were, it'd be much more fascinating to watch. ;)
  16. 1) She's a celebrity; and 2) she watches entirely too many crime shows.
  17. And then you have people like Schultz and Yang, with their "anyone can run!" attitude.
  18. Quick question: has Kelley Menighan (Hensley) ever had a hairdo that worked for her?
  19. Exactly. In the past, I've heard Spelling was crushed about SuBe's failure; but really, if he had exerted some patience, he might have avoided the hurt feelings.
  20. You know, as much as I love and respect the field of journalism, most of the so-called liberal media's behavior during the last presidential election and beyond makes it very difficult for me to feel anything but distrust and contempt for them now. If Trump decides to go after them, then, yes, they have only themselves to blame. I go back to what Whoopi Goldberg said years ago during a comedy special: if these anti-abortion folks are so dead-set on abolishing a woman's right to do whatever the hell she wants to or with her body, then let's round up all the babies who would otherwise have been aborted (including the babies who were products of rape or incest, or whose births happened at the expense of their mothers' lives), and then let's drop them off at their doorsteps and have THEM raise 'em. Good luck!
  21. Not every mom! No way would Mama Khan have helped me get into Northwestern* other than to tell me to study hard and quit watching so much television. And she was someone who resented how her parents wouldn't help her pay for nursing school tuition, yet helped her sister (my aunt) pay for hers at Oklahoma Banking & Business School (which, by the way, she dropped out of). * I got in -- strictly on my own merits -- but I ultimately chose not to attend, because (surprise!) our family couldn't afford it.
  22. To Aaron Spelling, I think, every one of his shows had to be like "Charlie's Angels," a ratings juggernaut from the start, or else something was wrong.
  23. On second thought, maybe we SHOULD let him run against Trump. Like they say, it takes a thief to catch a thief.
  24. "Aunt Becky" getting replaced on her show by the quintessential "rich b***h," "Blair Warner." There's something about that that I love, lol!
