  1. More and more, I'm reminded of @marceline's dire prediction that the divisions that have been tearing this country apart are going to end in bloodshed.
  2. I wouldn't mind a GL reboot that brought the show back to its' roots as a faith- and religion-based soap opera. Something to help differentiate it from the other web soaps out there. (Although, if that means the return of Reverend Joshua Lewis, forget it.)
  3. Boy, do I feel so much pride in my blackness right now! I just wish all these wonderful protests lead to real POSITIVE action from the government. Alas, we know this administration is incapable of doing just that.
  4. Actually, IIRC, Sandy Dennis made her TV debut on GL, back when it was THE GL, in the mid-'50's. So, it would have been sort of like a "full circle moment" for her, I guess? I could believe that, lol!
  5. Set your DVR's, ladies and gentlemen. This is one episode of "Divorce Court" you won't want to miss. https://www.yahoo.com/news/wife-officer-charged-murder-george-042245850.html 2020: the year when even the Amish could no longer keep silent.
  6. Damn.
  7. I'm so sorry to hear that, @Soapsuds. I hope you are taking care of yourself right now. #Hugs
  8. God, I miss the days when I could count on our leaders to unite (and not divide) this nation with their words.
  9. That's why I don't even bother watching any of these reunions (although, for everyone else's sake, I'm glad they're being done). Anything worth doing, IMO, should be done right.
  10. Frankly, Michael Weatherly has always struck me as a smarmy punk who is too in love with himself to be a decent human being.
  11. Which is why I don't exactly feel sorry for those who are hurting now because they have endorsed and/or continue to endorse Trump. They knew damn well who and what he was when they voted for him; they just wanted to forget/ignore/erase President Ooga Booga. I'm only sorry for the rest of us who have to suffer alongside them. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't shake the feeling that officer in particular was making an "ironic" statement against Colin Kaepernick when he did that. Like Mike Pompeo and his son posting their "pinky promise" on Twitter in response to Elizabeth Warren's campaign.
  12. Well, it's about damn time social media did something to censor that man! His quackpot ideas about handling the coronavirus were and are literally getting innocent people killed. I'm just sorry we now live in a time when we have to regard our commander-in-chief the same way we would a troll on SON.
  13. I wonder why you even pretend to give a damn.
  14. As a Black man, I am EXHAUSTED with how our state and local governments continue to ignore the issues. My fellow Black men and women stay getting murdered by law enforcement officers and/or mishandled by the (in)justice system, and hardly anyone gives a [!@#$%^&*]. They're all just hoping we'll die out (sooner, rather than later) so they can have their precious, all-white nation to themselves. They were too busy enjoying their Confederate flag sheet cake at Jennifer's trailer.
  15. Agree. As wonderful as Doug Marland's writing always was (IMO), Robert Calhoun gave his work on ATWT a certain energy that Laurence Caso never could.
  16. But, like ol' man river, NCIS (and its' spinoffs) just keeps rollin' along.
  17. Did they ever solve the mystery of who really "murdered" Dixie? IIRC, Alexander Cambias, aka The Satin Slayer, insisted that killing someone with poisoned pancakes was too ghetto for him. Was he just misdirecting the police, or did they prove someone else "offed" Dixie and made it look like the SS's doing?
  18. I think it was Megan McTavish? But, don't quote me on that, lol.
  19. I think it aired its' final episode earlier this year.
  20. AW always seemed to be caught in a tug-of-war between P&G and NBC, with neither entity really having the show's best interests at heart.
  21. Nah, it's always easy to spot John Whitesell and his thick head of hair, lol. I don't know whether he quit/retired or was fired, but I truly believe Bruce Barry's departure from the GL directing staff was the final, FINAL nail in the show's coffin. He was to GL what Larry Auerbach had been to LOVE OF LIFE (or Ira Cirker to AW, or David Pressman to OLTL); and if he had been there for the transition to Peapack, I think we might've had more GOOD episodes from that abysmal period than what we got.
  22. I could be wrong, but I think that's Bruce S. Barry, with John Whitesell standing to his right.
  23. If Obama were still president, he would receive (posthumously, of course) the Presidential Medal of Honor (or Freedom, or whatever is most appropriate under those circumstances). But, he isn't, and he won't.
  24. Okay, I get where they are coming from, but that's...going a bit far.
  25. Someone needs to alert the GOP. Their fembot has gone rogue.
