  1. Even now, as more and more intel trickles down about the riot, I don't think enough people realize how serious this was or could have been. I mean, you don't bring guns and twisty-ties to the U.S. Capitol just for shits and giggles.
  2. Absolutely! I think you can reflect the average viewer's reality and still be entertaining. If anything, by dramatizing their real-life, everyday problems, I think you can provide viewers with a sense that they're not alone and that, through perseverance and faith, they can work through their issues. I've been thinking a lot about that lately, as we continue to make sense of everything that's been happening around us in regards to COVID-19.
  3. I'll agree there was more crossover and character interaction during MP's earliest seasons; but, even then, I always had the impression that MP's characters never particularly LIKED each other. They just tolerated each other, because they all lived in the same apartment building (which is fine in real life, but not fun to watch on a soap).
  4. First, we had people ignoring the danger (or worse, believing Trump's assessment that the virus would simply disappear); and now, we have people trying every which way they can to jump ahead in the line for the vaccine. COVID-19 has shown to the rest of the world just how ignorant and dangerous Americans can truly be.
  5. Carol Roux and her "boyfriend" look like two of Meathead's hippie friends on "All in the Family."
  6. Well, at least TLP did the right thing in condemning (on the record) Weaver's actions and distancing themselves and their organization from him as much as possible. If only the GOP would do the same about MTG, Lacey Chabert Lauren Boebert, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, and the list goes on.
  7. I'm trying to remember if it was Marc or Larry who appeared a couple of times as a police officer on "The Facts of Life" during the "Edna's Edibles" era.
  8. Why do I feel like stories such as this are designed to make me feel bad for folks who have only themselves to blame? It isn't as if no one had any clue as to who MTG was or what she was about before she was elected. All you had to do was take a glance at her social media accounts to know she was a total loon. Yet, GOP voters in GA decided she was the one for them; and now, they're having voters' remorse? Again, why should I feel sorry for them and their idiotic decisions? You made your bed, as Erica Kane once said, now writhe in it!
  9. Yeah, Trump's gonna be acquitted, so why should he bother hiring GOOD lawyers to defend him?
  10. This is pretty much what I've been saying since late last year. People who think this [!@#$%^&*] will be over and done with by Christmas (2021) are being overly optimistic. If we aren't still wearing masks and social distancing by this time next year, it'll be a miracle.
  11. The Lincoln Project was suing Rudy -- so, of course, the "liberal" NYT had to find a way to discredit them. Not that I think that these people are lying about John Weaver, or that the NYT should have covered up the allegations. I just suspect the NYT went out of its' way to find SOMETHING on the organization in order to turn their Democratic supporters against them and managed to hit paydirt.
  12. It's always hard whenever a beloved character such as Ruby passes away on any soap. It's like losing a piece of a show's core that you know you'll never get back.
  13. Taylor Miller was and is a very beautiful woman.
  14. I liked him better when he was still playing for the Washington Redskins.
  15. I will say that Brooke's departure is one of the few things I love about the show. One of the VERY few.
  16. Well, I'll bet the anti-maskers are gonna love that, lol!
  17. True dat.
  18. I think at least some within the Biden administration have learned their lesson from what happened at the start of the Obama era, when Democrats tried to cooperate with Republicans and got nowhere. They know we can't afford to sit around and wait for these changes to happen, or for Republicans to go along with them. Because, the GOP would be happy just to drag their feet until 2022 or '24 and let the Democrats hang themselves.
  19. I don't think they're too thrilled with him at the moment, lol. I could see Mike Pence maybe starting his own church. I do believe this much: I don't see his and "Mother"'s marriage lasting too much longer. I think she was even less thrilled than Melania to live in that kind of fishbowl for the past four years, and I think that put enormous pressure on her and Mike's union, too. So, while I'm not saying it's a GUARANTEE that the two will end up splitting, I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen.
  20. But, he'd make more with that reality series/sitcom I pitched earlier.
  21. "Former Vice-President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen, are finally out of the White House and ready to begin the next chapter of their lives. But, first, they'll have to move out of their daughter's basement. "THE PENCES. Coming this fall to ABC."
  22. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times: JER [!@#$%^&*] HATED this show.
  23. Ironically, Armie Hammer is probably more noteworthy as a fucked-up mess than he is as an actor.
  24. I'm literally heartsick over this news. I hate the term "credit to our race" for obvious reasons, but she truly was. She effortlessly embodied the best parts of Black Americans.
